All my folks come from bedminster down,my grandparents were proper old school Bristolians(and great city fans) ,my great grandfather was a miner in Bristol and nearby,who knew we had mines and people scratching a living as miners  in Bristol!

My accent has a very mild West Country burr,my grandparents (long gone now) would probably tell me I’m posh.

Wow we are 11-2 for the win.

Clearly Fulham should be favourites,but on a wet windy day at home ,those odds seem very generous.

Semenyo having a bit of pace and skill has had a great second half.

Miserable times ,we truly are pony.

However on a more positive note ,on page one of this thread you will see i put £10 on city to win (11-2) despite your better advice , and remarkably sensible behaviour,I cashed out for a near £30 profit at 2-1 up,so not all bad………just saying.

Crikey we are 5-1 for the win.

You’d think we were playing Chelsea or are we really that bad at the moment.

Got to stick a tenner on,probably won’t see it again though.

Interesting collection of reminiscence of the reading game.Not sure everyone claiming to be there was.

Because it was a top of the table clash we travelled up in numbers.With terraces we were in early.What sparked everything off was a group of city in the away end(or side of the pitch)as a scrap started ,city fans from other parts of the stadium ran across the pitch to join in.

City fan’s gained the territory and the fighting stopped.When reading team came out it was virtually silent as city fans now in all parts of the stadium.When City came out it was like a home game ,cheering from all sides.Eventually the police started to shift the city fans back to the away end which is when the terrace got ripped up and things got a bit grim,also lots of city attacking the police stood on r side of away terrace keeping fans away from reading side.Lots of split heads from truncheons.

The game itself was a massive disappointment and we were never really in it.

Not involved in any of the above myself, definitely carnage for a time ,certainly nothing to be proud of ,but it was fairly par for the course at that time.

Anyone remember when city fans replaced the padlocks on the gates at back of tote end and entered on mass before the game ,stood in the away terrace looked like large group of rovers arriving until the chant(gas gas got to get rid of the gas )chant went up and the centre of the tote end emptied of blue and white.

Glad I don’t have to take my kids to games like that now,but as a teenager it was definitely a buzz.

Why relegated.They won at West Brom last week.

Enjoy being pessimistic,it will be a long season for you.

Thank goodness there was no otib when Alan Dicks was given several seasons to build a promotion winning team.

So many critical comments when we’ve sold some of our better players ,are bedding in newbies and missing our main striker.

I think we are progressing albeit slowly and look forward to getting better as the season progresses.

That was how to see out a game - with much finer margins all match!

What rubbish,peacock was one of a better players tonight in a poor display.Where it all went wrong was midfield,despite his goal Goodfellow was awful tonight,backed out of tackles,used his one trick pony skil;l of cutting in every time (to good affect poss twice in the second half),but we had no Right side all first half and most of the second.Did you notice how the doc and wilkshire looked saw him in space and then decided to go left to brown.Also i said it yesterday-don't drop the tinman,we only looked likely after he came on.Peacock bashers,he was not the problem last night-other Dw selections were far more at fault.
