Was sad times in this neck of the woods, as that goal relegated Scarborough and they eventually went bust. Back on the rise again though.

Darn it... First game of the season, just 45 mins from home. And I'm on my hols.

After living in Austria for a while (and following FC Tirol to their first Bundesliga title in years), I’ve always had a huge soft spot for them. Great result!

Aw man...Had I known it was in York, I would've booked the afternoon off and gone down. Could've done some shopping at Monk's Cross afterwards!

Good luck to BMFFC.
Round my neck of the woods, Scarborough Athletic (under Jonathan Greening) are just a game away from gaining promotion to National League North, which is where the original Scarborough FC were when they went bust. We're going to try and get tickets, but I think the demand is going to be huge. There were over 2,000 in for the play off semi-final v Matlock.
2-1 win for Scarborough today. Glad to see them back (albeit as a phoenix club) in National League North.
Free bar apparently…

Come on City!!! Finishing above Hull, for me personally, would be one major positive from this season.

I had the misfortune of picking up a tray of Brains when I was in Asda a few years back, I think it was a quid for four of them.
Haven't had faggots since. They were vile.
I only got them as I was feeling nostalgic for the food I had as a child and thought that Brains, peas and mash might be just the ticket.
It wasn't.
Still, I had a strawberry Super Mousse for afters.
That was shit as well.
Did my work experience at Brains. Seeing & smelling the raw ingredients every day put me off for quite some time!

Funnily enough, I was just chatting with friends the other day about when I worked with Rangers & Celtic, around the late 00s. My company sponsored both clubs...when we visited Celtic, they were ultra-professional, easy to deal with, treated us to a cracking sponsor's day at their training ground, with a load of freebies including full match kit (I ended up with NZ international Chris Killen's) and a meal at Celtic Park later. Rangers were polar opposite...a complete mess from a commercial point of view. Interestingly, both clubs had an agreement they wouldn't ask each other to cover damage caused by away fans during Old Firm matches. And there was pretty much always damage, to seats, toilet facilities, etc.

Some interesting thoughts here. The amateur league I play in (which is a Yorkshire county league) also includes several North Lincolnshire teams from the likes of Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Lincoln. We’re now playing the likes of Louth and even as far south as Horncastle. The Northern clubs make sense, due to their proximity to Yorkshire, but the others are a right old trek.
And don’t mention the county of “Humberside” round these parts. It’s even more despised than “Avon”!

How come you never went ?
I play for a team on Saturdays. As I’m their only goalie, I couldn’t let them down.

Celebrating that goal, on my own, in a packed pub in the heart of Hull City country. You can imagine how that went down.

Safe travels fellow Reds. Just popped my head out of the window and it’s actually quite nice out round these parts.
Sadly, won’t be there today due to my own sporting commitments but I’m sure the Hull fans on my own team will keep me updated on the score.

For those making the trip to Yorkshire the titchy Hop and Vine is apparently the place for cider: https://www.facebook.com/hopandvinehull
Yes. They usually stock a very good selection of local ciders from Colemans (co-founded by a Somerset exile).

I echo your sentiments. I thought we look so much tighter at the back…
