The End of the Beginning and the Beginning of the end

Before appointing Tinnion -
Forest’s excuses are weak as rules are rules but you can understand the frustration for any team going up the prem and trying to stay up. Sheffield Utd and Burnley showing what tends to happen if you don’t try and compete financially. I’m an Everton fan as well as City so I’d obviously prefer them to go down over Everton, but I get why some fans would think Everton should go down. They pissed away a lot of money trying to chase the European dream buying lots of players after every manager sacking (A warning to us who have done similar but on a smaller scale and narrowly avoided breaking FFP ourselves). I could take Everton going down if it would help them reset and get there shit back in order but the big worry for Evertonians is that if they go down they will go into financial meltdown. Plus you don’t want to be in the Championship or league 1 for that matter with a 52,000 brand spanking new stadium

They really won’t want to be finding Man City of being guilty as that brings the whole premier league management into question if the multi premier league champions are found to have been cheating and all the implications that would follow around that and Champions League etc. My guess is they will do there absolute most to not find them guilty of most of those charges and just give them a slap on the wrist

Be very interesting to see what excuse they’d give from BT up if they did decide to pull the trigger in the next few weeks. The problem would then be with no likely changes happening to the football hierarchy. Who could they possibly recruit that would remotely placate the fans. The answer by the way is not Warnock. It needs BT(Feel a little sorry for him as he does love the club) and JL to step aside and for a proper experienced CEO and director of football. Chances of that happening?
-
No chance is he being sacked anytime soon after them making such a big thing of getting rid of Nige and bringing in there self described super coach who can manage this top 6 squad. Would be far too much egg on JL and BT’s faces for them to sack Captain Mannering so soon. They’ll double down in the summer and pray to the footballing gods for a miracle turnaround.

Are we the dullest club in the country?

We are quite similar in a lot of ways in terms of spending money for very little return on terms of success -
Replacement for Max then?

Don’t worry if you’re likely to have croked it, by then the technology will be there to bring you all back to life as holograms so you’ll be able to take in the special occasion. Lucky you! -

Done, we’ll get Harry Cornick to prop you up. -
So following on from the celebrating the 30 year anniversary of beating Liverpool in the FA cup I wonder what the club are already planning for the 30 year anniversary of us beating Southampton in 2054. - Special memorial kit made up of all Junior Lansdown’s doodles - Parading Harry Cornick at half time - Playing back some of Liam Manning’s press conferences on the big screens pre match to get the crowd going They must be full of these and other ideas right now. Roll on Saturday 14th Feb 2054 and book your tickets now!!!! PS. i know the game was actually on 13th February. The 14th Feb would be the next typical match day. That is if it isn’t an international break in which case it could be a later date. PPS. Yes, I did actually search for a 2054 calendar PPPS. No, I haven’t been drinking but I am going to bed

That is very likely what the fans are going to have to stomach. I do feel for Manning as he is getting extra short shrift from a large amount of people on here I feel based more on anger at those above him. What doesn’t help him is his lack of any real personality that would appeal to fans. Even LJ had a little bit of the cheeky chappy about him. We lost most weeks under Benny back in the day but we still liked him.

Which was his lowest point?

Don’t forget “being brave” -
I’m not usually a manager basher after a game and this is something I’ve been thinking about for a while and what concerns me with Manning is the way he talks in his press conferences and if that’s the way he talks to players he doesn’t come across as aspiring at all. For me being a good manager is more than just having a good coaching methodology. Character and passion to inspire your players to want to run through walls and work to become better players and a better team. A tough comparison but you look at the truly successful managers like Klopp, Guardiola and Alex Ferguson, they all ooze passion and charisma. Manning just doesn’t seem to offer any that the fans can see and bond with that players also would. Nige obviously isn’t in the same league as the names I’ve mentioned, but I believe his charisma, personality and attitude had turned around a club that was slowly heading back to league 1. I so want a manager character to go along with his or her (why not) coaching know how.

Mangotsfield United are replacing there main pitch with an Astro pitch -
He was struggling in the Champ. I’ll give you he was maybe having issues with support from Landsdown but I still think he would have struggled

SOD like many managers, who we’ve had over the last few decades, have mostly all been managers who’ve been successful prior to coming here and most fans have been wanting to be here. All have pretty much failed. Why? I’m thinking pretty much all after Joe Jordan bar Gary Johnson have failed pretty much
