  1. Bristol City are the only non-Premier League club to have retained their 11 most-used players ahead of the new season in England, PA analysis reveals.

The Championship side have held on to players who accumulated more than 92 per cent of league minutes in 2021-22, the highest retention rate in the English Football League (EFL), with manager Nigel Pearson able to call upon 17 of his 18 most regular picks from last season.

Wigan are next on the list for squad retention, with players responsible for 91 per cent of their minutes under contract, followed by Coventry (86 per cent).

I thought his (Scott) defending was bloody excellent last night.  He’s sharp, can get tight and uses body pretty well.

Entirely agree his body positioning against Tymon was spot on (standing him up and making him look sideways or back (apart from the one time he was nutmegged).  I would prefer him in centre mid but has done an excellent job as a WB.

I find the size of this thread concerning.  Can someone summarise where we are so worked up over Derby County?

Lets just focus on our own team

Well done. I thought I might be the only one think 40+ pages OTT. I don’t deny Derby’s failings but maybe we should spend more of our time on BCFC?

I don’t think any Bristol City fan is a ‘happy clapper’ maybe people just have a differing view!

out of interest which part do you particularly blame NP for seeing we were playing a team with better players than us? Not after an argument just curious…..for clarity i didn’t go so saw highlight and this is what i saw

    - Scott missing an open goal

    - denied a penalty

    - Baker with a rash challenge

    - Bentley pushing a ball straight to an attacker

And they scored 2 goals against our 1.

Despite living a few streets away from the Venture Inn in Knowle West I rarely frequented there, safer in the Fellowship on Axbridge Rd (top of Redcatch), then to the ultra cool House That Jack Built in St John’s Lane which was my second home for years..

The Blue Flame at Chelvey Batch is a one off…..dropped in there on the annual June cycle ride from Bristol - they seemed amazed at their good fortune to have all these thirsty cyclists turning up on their doorstep, couldn’t sell the beer / cheese & onion rolls fast enough ?

I don’t think there’s a pub anywhere in Knowle West now? The Venture, Fighting Cocks, Inns Court, Friendship Inn all gone, only a community association bar or two available to drink in now?
Blame it all on cheap drink from supermarkets I guess but so much social interaction (skittles / darts / football /crib) has been lost it’s no wonder young lads have lost their connection and respect to older generations.

We were so lucky to have so many great options to socialise in we could have a girlfriend in every pub ? ?..

Not the Fellowship but the Friendship. My old mans local. He was a regular there every Sunday lunchtime. He was a Fishmonger and when a regular found this out he sold him a couple of pheasants, buckshot and all!
