So Tinnion has basically said the club only wants to be mid table in the championship with his 10 points better off comments, they got no ambition to push for the prem , that makes me feel a little sad thinking that what we have now is as good as it's going to get, we are just going to become one of those nothing clubs that never dose anything of note don't go up don't go down just occupies a spot in the league they are in ,
No, he didn’t. 10 points better off this time next season has us 7th, competing for top six?

Unbelievable. What a tag line to go with to attract new players to the club "we want to be ten points better off in 12 months". Well I'll tell you what Tinnion, we should be ten points better off right now, and I'd put good money on Pearson being able to do that if he wasn't given the unjust boot he was! Clowns!!
10 points puts us right in the play off mix. Would you have preferred he said 15 or 20 or Top 2 so we can all chuck mid at him when we don’t achieve it?

Coincidence that it follows a win?
Totally, yes. He was on to talk about the Youth FA Cup win, Radio Bristol got him to do this at the same time

This sticking up for the Lansdowns and covering the loses every season well if they had it right and not gone fall metal on spending they wouldn't have to also to separate the ground from the football club is another pathetic decision. Yes they do deserve criticism massively. Over and over theyve done the same mistake let's just hope this isn't another bad decision.
I never said they didn’t deserve criticism. I said they didn’t deserve personal abuse and, regardless of decisions we might criticise, they have still done a huge amount of good for the club

If you want to know FAR more about our new gaffer’s career to date than you’ve heard so far, check out Pete Hinton’s opening 7 mins of this One Stream in Bristol Space - the rest is well worth listening to too!
https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/one-stream-in-bristol/id1296647791?i=1000634053858
The irony is (listen to it all!) that I’m sure if plenty of those fans who are crying “yes man”, “cheap option” & “unexciting” saw this guy with his record going into Preston or Millwall or QPR they’d probably be moaning that’s the sort of guy we never appoint

He could lose the next 10 games and some people on here would be demanding a new 5 year deal.
That’s absolute nonsense

The more I think about this, the more convinced I become that it's just a matter of when, not if, the trigger is pulled on Nige.
I think it's becoming very obvious that his contract is not going to be renewed and it's incredibly rare for a manager to have a long-term contract and simply work until it expires, then leave. So that leaves two options, either poached by another club (v unlikely) or the sack/mutual consent.
It sounds to me like he has either been given an ultimatum on achieving results or get the sack, or possibly has got wind of that ultimatum, and it wasn't meant to be conveyed to him personally.
He was a game away from being sacked twice last season, and survived by avoiding defeat in several key games.
I said at the start of the season that he would probably be given even less breathing space this season and it seems like that is the case, and on top of that there has now evidently been a falling out of sorts that Nige has chosen to make public.
It all points to only one outcome unfortunately, and I think the only way Nige avoids the sack is by going on some ludicrously great run of form, or being in the top 6.
I suspect we are in a scenario where the Lansdowns are just waiting for the optimal time to fire him whilst ensuring they get the least amount of blowback. Probably a couple of defeats on the spin, or a drop in league position into the bottom half.
It may also depend on who they are looking at as a replacement. Some obvious names to them may be Nathan Jones, John Eustace, or Gary Rowett.
I wouldn't be surprised if our former u-23s coach Luke Williams, who has done a fine job at Notts C, was in the conversation too. Apparently retains a good relationship with Tinnion.
Maybe I've overthought it, but those remarks from Nige yesterday were fairly unprecedented, and I just feel the end can't be too far away now.
The only way he can save himself is to achieve an outstanding set of results, which seems a tall ask given the current state of the squad.
All sounds there or thereabouts to me, Will. Would be very disappointed however if they’re getting rid mainly because he’s strong and tells Junior what he thinks of him (which has been suggested)

Yes i notice he disappears for large parts of the game and since his injury hes not the player he was youve just nailed it hes captain but when hes doing jack shit like most of the last 6 months and theres more energy on the bench but Nige likes his favourites .
Energy and workrate from Weimann is unquestionable and a strange thing to call out - especially when those coming off the bench didn’t show much.
The bloke doesn’t stop - his ball ability, passing crossing etc definitely questionable at times but any manager would like him for the ground he covers. Any manager

Just a top man.
Met him once at Charlton Farm, introduced myself as “Fevs from Twitter” and it was as if he’d known me for ages. Always a little shout out for my son too.
Biggest compliment is the universal acceptance from City fans.
He will be sorely missed, big boots to follow. All the best “Pal” if you’re reading,
Did I read recently BBC cutting back on regional programmes?
Yep, national programming from lunchtime onwards. Exceptions mooted but suspected at the time that would only be live events, not magazine shows like SOTC

Sykes was also able to protect the penalty spot by standing on it, as I suspect that it would have been 'accidently' vandalised by a Sunderland player.
It already had been. Alese had seriously kicked the $#|¥ out of it, got booked and then led down in the penalty area wanting treatment.
Sykes did a great job protecting it and chirping at the GK until he retreated to his goal line- 4

Pearson was never ever hanging by a thread here. Pre Birmingham Gould said "We are all massively supportive of Nigel" he also mentioned the positive performances that we have had.
The only pressure was coming from a small inpatient vocal group that quite frankly don't understand anything about football.
Internally he was never ever ever anywhere close to being hanging by a thread. But that's because those internally know what he is working with and they also see the work he puts in daily. They see the improvements with their own eyes.
Performances and the consistency of the performances have largely been decent for quite a while. Birmingham away is really the only game where I'd describe our performance as terrible.
When Nige arrived here we couldn't even get a shot on target. Then we could.
Then we couldn't get a home win. Then we could.
Then we couldn't not concede a last min goal. Then we could.
Then we couldn't stop picking up injuries. Then we could.
Then we couldn't perform for an entire game. Then we could.
Then we couldn't win back to back. Then we could.
And finally we couldn't stop giving away stupid goals due to mistakes. And then we could.
Each single one of these coulds have taken time to sort out. Only someone like Ian Gay would think they could all be sorted out over night. Football doesn't work like that.
If you want long term success like we do, then you have to work on all of those things over a period of time.
What Pearson meant by being at his weakest was in response to being booed by the fans. His comment about the club being at its strongest alluded to the work he had undertaken.
Of course there was pressure both externally and internally, there always has been and always will.
But any rubbish about him losing the dressing room or players not playing for him was complete rubbish made up by those with an agenda.
I personally have never ever had any concerns about relegation. There are at least 5 worse teams in this league than us.
If we were anything like Cardiff id be extremely worried but all i've been over the season is continued improvements. A football fan just knows when their team is danger of relegation. We've never played like that bar the Birmingham away game.
I don't think people realise that the CEO is based at the training ground and sees everything that goes on with his own eyes.
We might have little blips along the way but I am fully confident that now all the biggest problems have been dealt with and we are nos on an upwards trajectory.
The new faces at the training ground and the excitement around the Man Citu game will give all of us a renewed freshness on the back of a very good month.
I think a top half finish is certain an achievable target.
Disagree. Plenty of managers get backed like that by Board members and CEO just before they get sacked. Lansdown regularly reacts to heavily negative feelings around and there definitely was West Brom, far from a minority imo

A month is a very long time in football, that’s for sure!
Five weeks ago Pearson appeared to be hanging by a thread. The players battled hard for a draw at Millwall and haven’t looked back - we’ve not lost since, we’ve got Man City coming up, there’s optimism over a money-generating and saving, but positive transfer window.
He said something like “I’m at my weakest position since joining {just above drop zone} but the club is at its strongest.”
Are we seeing that already?
Lower wage bill. Performances & results improvement despite injuries. More youngsters come through. Scott excellent & still here.
For me, this is the result of 2 years of slowly building with a plan (on and off the pitch @Davefevs!) , slowly turning around changing room culture.
It’s a bit like we were in a period of what was almost a holding position to allow the younguns time to develop & be ready.
It won’t last forever, but we’re on a slight upward curve at last…

That all Had to be done - there was no choice, we haven’t sold anyone, we have released players which has contributed to the reduction in wages, and offered players extensions with a take it or leave it offer as that’s where we are as a club!Id fancy that gig for the money.
I’d also very much doubt he had much to do with the actual organisation of the AG8 celebrations either as that would be a job for someone else.As said, not saying he’s not done anything but not sure I’m going to ‘miss him’
He was ultimately responsible for driving that through and worked closely with the FPA, SC&T and others - anyone who’s worked with him or spoken with him in the last year or so is positive.
His job isn’t to be showy and obvious, it’s to get things sorted and organised behind the scenes and he’s done that without doubt from everyone I’ve spoken to.
‘Tis a shame he’s moving on

The bedminster cricket club so annoys me , the monies they have made from events at Ashton gate , football/rugby/concerts etc + ballon fiesta have all helped towards the upgrade of the club house the covers for the cricket square and basically very good facilities. They must be one of the most well off local cricket clubs in Bristol.
im sure the few times I parked there a fair few years ago now the people organising the parking were a fair few well known city fans from south Bristol , looks like they have gone from looking after their own to fleecing their own , pure greed in my eyes unless those familier faces are not there any more . Sad indictment of the world we live in I suppose .
It’s not their land and not them charging this fee

This ‘name the source’ nonsense again…?
If people do know certain things, and they have got that from someone specific, the last thing they’ll do is name them as they’ll potentially get that person in trouble and will definitely stop any further news coming that way.
