  1. Now this is something I agree with. I guess football has become a product and if there is no product then fans feel short changed. Before this football was a drug, a hobby with a sense of togetherness between fans and the club. I’ve stayed to the end regardless in over 40 years of watching the City in all but 2 matches. I guess I’m a traditionalist and hang on to this feeling of ‘togetherness’. That’s why I stay even now and will continue to do so. However, I get it why others feel differently - It’s understandable that many are peeved by the way our club is being run. The exodus really highlighted how disgruntled or changed fans are towards the Bristol Sport product. It was just a shock when sooo many left on Saturday.
  2. I’m a season ticket holder and see most home games. To you all I understand that you have your reasons for leaving but loads more than usual today. It was s**t for sure at times but was just disappointing to see sooo many today.
  3. So….why the MASS exodus of fans (a) when Huddersfield scored (b) on 85 mins?? I hate it when fans leave early at the best of times but that was embarrassing today. We have been on a good run of late and I know things are petering out to another season of mid-tableness but hey…fair enough if we’re losing 3-0 or similar! I’d like to know how many City fans saw Nahki’s penalty scored as we fought regardless of performance to get on level terms.
  4. Again it feels like we skating on very thin ice and a collapse is perilously close every season. Again, another season mid table ish ‘hoping’ for a change of gear that never comes whilst at the same time always worried about what’s behind you in the rear view mirror!! We might have potential and a look of a Rolls Royce on the outside but sadly we’re a horse and cart club driven by Steptoe and Son (before some of you on here’s time) !
  5. I have no problem with the no shows. I’m a season ticket holder and can’t to every game because I live in London. If I’m one case then there are hundreds, maybe thousands in the same boat as me. Sky of course had much to do with those empty seats on a Friday night!! I have more problems with the fans missing from their seats because the concourse seems to be more entertaining to them. Especially 10 mins before and after half time. It would be interesting to know how many bums were on seats when Leeds scored. On the few occasions I need to go for a pee during match time I am astounded by how many are in the concourse. Why? Why? Isn’t the point to turn up to support your team and watch a game of football? Fair enough if Leeds were 3-0 up before half-time or near the end - although I still don’t why you would leave 5-10 before the end of half-time. The max exodus is embarrassing to watch. We were 0-1 down with 5 minutes left but many left. The game was still finely poised -score wise at least- and yet instead of encouraging your team you headed for the turnstiles. Don’t get it - never will - but hey that’s my opinion. I’m sure you have yours.
  6. Yes I failed to mention that too. He definitely took a knock towards the end.
  7. Sarcasm gets you nowhere.
  8. Pring definitely took a knock early on early in the game last night and wasn’t his usual self throughout. Hope he’s ok as he has been a constant thorn and high performer in our side. Was worried he was going off with Roberts on - imagine that against a rampant Leeds. Pring is such a vital starter these days but we seem to lack cover of his physical presence. Is he also due a suspension? Atkinson back soon would help I guess. James pulled up holding his groin towards the end and struggled to finish the game. He looks like he might be out for a while.
  9. Sorry but I only see positivity. Last night Leeds were by far the better team and that’s a fact that cannot be changed. I thought we looked tired maybe and Leeds high press and energy and quality meant we were never really in the game. Too much knee-jerk reaction once again. Please see the bigger picture. Lansdown’s ridiculous top 6 belief aside we are unrecognisable as a team compared to under Nige. Nige also did a great job of turning around what was a sinking ship and getting us to a level of competence, laying the foundation to pass on the baton to a young head coach like LM with a front foot philosophy but with a squad used to ‘handbrake’ football. To change from one to another can’t be done overnight but signs are good and signings also suggest much promise. Loving what I see on the whole and see an upward trajectory for sure. Leeds had everything we aspire to be and that was the difference. We weren’t poor - Leeds were just far, far better! Let’s hope that we take that on the chin and continue to move forward.
  10. Not had any luck with the club. These tickets are still available. Let me know.
  11. Hi still available if you’re interested….
  12. Had tickets for that game and this game but have 2 spare! Got the programme still… what a day that was….
  13. Hi there. Bought 2 tickets in the Dolman Stand Block 28 for friends however assumed game was Saturday at the time and they can’t make it on the Friday! Leeds on tv - AGAIN!!! Bought for £31 each but happy to sell for £50 for the pair. Pay in person before or on the day.
  14. Two goals is ambitious based on recent times…Score predictions here please…. Something has to change hopefully today!! Last 7 games v Watford 2014. FA Cup Lost 2-0 A 2017 League Cup won 3-2!!! A Whatever happened to Hinds?! 2018 FA Cup lost 3-0 A 2020 League drew 0-0 H 2021 League lost 6-0!! A 2022 League drew 0-0 H 2022-23 League lost 2-0 A 2023- 24 League A ??????
  15. Omg Lansdown (and now Tins). You’ve really not helped yourself in these videos. Made me and the majority of City fans even more livid than before. Shame I won’t be there Saturday as I might just might join in the protests. I can only do the level headed empathetic approach for so long. I’m a big fan of giving the manager time to develop the culture and quality of a club and it’s identity. In the past, moments of brief successes under previous managers painted over in hindsight that it was indeed built on a shaky foundation. In Nige the foundation across the club was absolutely being built and success was steady but progressive. Everything - a great manager, improved culture and squad was in place. A foundation readied for success and in time Premier League football. Then Lansdown throws his toys out of the pram because he wants success NOW - in the same sense business wise he wants the deal done NOW. So he decides he doesn’t want the old man playing with his toys anymore and asks him to get out through a seemingly long prepared trap door. Jon - no way is this squad promotion material. Maybe top half if injuries don’t impact upon us further. All Nige needed next was a little more money to invest to take us further up the ladder and become potential play-off candidates - maybe next year. I don’t post on here too often but for the first time in 45 years of supporting my club I feel we as fans should bloody well tell the board what we feel come Saturday.
  16. Naismith is very culpable of not chasing back for sure with an attitude of ‘I’ll leave that to the others’ when his line of defence has been broken. If that happened to Vyner, Pring or Dickie they would chase back and do all they can to retrieve the situation. Another incredibly annoying Naismith occurrence from yesterday. We had 5-6 minutes to find an equaliser and Naismith aside we did our utmost without impact to do so. (This is something I have liked about the City of late - heads remain up for the most part when we concede and we go all out again to score again even if often without penetration and result). Anyway…back to my Naismith point… when Stoke scored on 89 minutes he practically gave up both physically and mentally. He spent 6 minutes throwing his toys out of his pram and played like a teenager who had just been grounded for a week! His head went, he had poor body language and his head and feet disconnected resulting him spraying around several misplaced passes. Not the attitude that’s going to endear him to the crowd if he wants a song about him. Naismith has qualities for sure but yes it’s not part of being a back line.
  17. No I vividly remember Freeman being booed from the start. Anyway…not one for booing ex players - on the whole. Guess you’re that way inclined or not.
  18. Agree. Where on the ‘boo-ometre’ scale does ‘not wanted to sign contract for personal/professional reasons’ fall?? Easy to know what would be at the top end of such a scale though. Such things as saying not wanting your child to grow up talking Bristolian is one!! Shame when Maynard scored what is possibly the best away goal I’ve seen live for City!
  19. Nostalgic for sure. I liked Freeman. I do recall that Freeman was booed throughout his last performance at Ashton Gate. Never understand why fans do this to players who served us well and in this case was quintessential to a fantastic promotion season.
  20. Think Bronze was at fault to a large degree. However, she got herself into a position to pass and then if you look the referee stands in the way of the pass - she hestitates - then loses the ball. Spain have been great in all areas but especially in not allowing England time on the ball which other teams have allowed up to now.
  21. Thank you. I have all programmes home and away from that era but do not recall seeing it. However, it might be worth trawling through them again at some stage. If anyone has any further info or photos please do say hi! Cheers.
  22. Hi. Every now and again I recall that when I was maybe 8 or 9 - I went to Ashton Gate to have my photo taken (along with lots of other kids) in amongst the City squad. This I would assume was as part of the annual team photo session. It was in the late 1970s during our time in the old first division. I have an awful memory so don’t remember much about it. I have very vague memories of sitting amongst the likes of Gow and Ritchie… For some reason I never received a copy of the photo which was part of the deal. My dad waited for its delivery but it never came and for some unknown reason my dad never chased it up. Does this ring any bells with anyone? Does anyone have any of these photos? Would love to find the one that includes me.
  23. Have complete empathy for you. I sit in the Dolman and behind me is what must be the biggest whinging granddad I have had the displeasure of listening too. I do sometimes watch the game with my fingers in my ears as I just can’t stand his negativity. Every misplaced pass, every shot that’s off target and in particularly the screaming of players of what they should of done. ‘Oh ‘f*****g Vyner’ ‘Vyner again!!’. He particularly has in it for him and yet Zak has a good chance of player of the season this year. I really don’t know why he pays a season ticket to watch what he often sees as a horror show. He’s the quietest around us when we score as he’s got nothing to moan about. All this with a grandson alongside him who is beginning to mimic his ways. I love the familiarity and routine of my regular seat. If it wasn’t for the fact I’ve made good friends around me I would of moved by now. We all like a moan but hey ‘Where is the joy?’
