  1. Any particular reason why @Silvio Dante and @GrahamC showed national flags for all the countries, yet wrote NI?
  2. Sure, we may have been crap today, but did you watch us against Southampton?
  3. Indeed. Right man perhaps, but wrong job. A shame, nevertheless, that he appears to have tarnished his reputation once again. I wonder seriously whether he regrets his decision to change roles, for he does appear to have a deep affinity with the club.
  4. OK, I’ll have to stand corrected as I didn’t attend the Rodriguez match.
  5. I don't think anything could be worse than Gerry Sharpe against Middlesbrough - the crack as he broke his leg could probably be heard in Greville Smyth Park.
  6. I have read the book a few times over the years, and I still chuckle (or find myself frustrated ) when I read or hear something that reminds me of one of the chaotic (and unfeasible) situations in which he found himself.
  7. Good response. On a totally different subject, and in reference to your username, I wonder how many on here have read the book.
  8. Actually, I was going to copy/paste the BL article on this thread as I thought Wael’s thoughts were very good and well written. Interesting, as you suggest, although I question whether asking for a percentage of any transfer fee is or would be a goer - quite ridiculous to be fair, although I understand the sentiment.
  9. All of which gives me a mental image of Alex Scott breastfeeding me, but that is probably for another thread or site even .
  10. Congratulations on introducing an equestrian term in the middle of Cheltenham Week .
  11. I don't think anybody is disputing the highlighted section of your post, and neither should they be. I believe that the problem is that BT appears ill-equipped and totally unsuited to his current role, which requires communication and presentatation skills that, unfortunately, he appears manifestly to be lacking.
  12. Are you quite sure about that? Marvin Rees @MarvinJRees · Follow City Hall is lit up red tonight to celebrate @bristolcitywfc: @BarclaysWC champions Congratulations on your promotion back to the @BarclaysWSL
  13. Yes, I know what you mean. This was always one of my favourites back then. As was this one.
  14. I have seen this in several bakers, and was once witness to a particularly irate woman (on her mobile phone at the time), who complained that other clients were being served before her.
  15. This happened to me just before Christmas. I was taking the RER in to Paris, standing as it was qute busy, when two young girls of Caribbean origin (I know, because I asked them) stood up and kindly offered me their seat. I pretended to be angry and offended, arguing that I was young and didn't need their kind offer, and we all enjoyed a very pleasant chat for the rest of the journey. A chastening reminder, perhaps, for those (including some on here) who moan constantly about today's youth, especially those who are foreign (or of a different, darker colour).
  16. To be fair, he was an excellent pundit.
  17. Assuming they don't get promoted, whether directly or through the playoffs, then he would probably be a good fit for Ipswich next season - a snip for them at just over £1M or so, given his contract status. I compared him earlier to Patrick Bamford, and I think he would be able to prove himself under the guidance of their current manager - provided he stays, of course. TC is, of course, well known to certain senior Ipswich staff members.
  18. Where did you manage to see that?
  19. Many on here (me included) have compared him to a young Alan Shearer, although not recently, but I am now thinking more along the lines of Patrick Bamford. I think TC would be excellent in a Leeds type team, at this level, i.e. Championship, but I am not sure he is going to cut it in the Premier League. I wish him luck, but time will tell.
  20. I believe that may be @Kid in the Riot .
  21. Well, of course. Mount them and load them the day before leaving, unload and dismount them when returning. I really don't see the problem, nor do I see any reason to wonder why they are being used all year round, i.e. whenever people go on holiday.
  22. Perhaps they are going to/returning from a skiing holiday? My ‘ski box’ would be put on and removed from my car at least twice a year, once in the winter and again in the summer.
  23. On occasions, predictive text can prove detrimental to what one wants to post .
  24. Once more, assuming no translation is neeeded.
