  1. Have you ever seen SC in fishnets?
  2. It was a nice finish, but Goodness, what a fantastic ball from Brooks.
  3. I really don't want to drag this out, but he looks and sounds a lot better in the clip. Perhaps it was just the photo angle. Or, perhaps, it was just me.
  4. I am not saying that he looks bad for a sixty year old man, just that I seem to remember him being particularly thick set. His neck appeared (to me) to be slightly scrawny. Anyway, as I said, I wish him well.
  5. I hope he is successful in helping FGR avoid relegation, but Goodness, hasn't he aged since he left Ashton Gate? I know he was seriously ill with COVID, and is obviously a few years older, but I find the difference quite striking. Good Luck Steve, and Good Health.
  6. Is this what you meant? Damning words from the former Head of Catering at Bristol Rovers and now Head of Matchday & Hospitality at Forest Green. Iain Paterson @IainPat1883 I could write a book mate. Working at The Mem was a real eye opener on how not to run a club. I've been a Rovers fan for 35 years and like you all, just want the best for the mighty blues. Unfortunately the club is currently being run by incompetent charlatans, so we're ****ed! Ah, I see that @bcfc01 has already replied.
  7. I read that the referee collided with a couple of players and the lengthy delay was because they had to find a qualified referee in the crowd to act as the fourth official.
  8. That's interesting. Did you never drive yourself?
  9. Well, be that as it may, I prefer my version .
  10. My wife and daughters went out for an Indian dinner on Christmas Day, would you believe, and I had the same or, at least, similar - Nalli Nihari. Not in Urban Tandoor, but in a very nice Indian restaurant.
  11. My wife and I hold the same view about Valentines Day. We haven't eaten out on February 14 for years, but usually have a very nice romantic dinner (dressed up, candles etc.) and a nice bottle of wine. Far nicer all round.
  12. Ooh. I am most certainly no expert, but I thought Jonas had lost that.
  13. You should have also asked about Crackers Corner in the East End, just to confuse matters further. Hopefully, someone will provide a detailed answer, but East End is a bit of a misnomer. Does that answer your question?
  14. Whilst life frequently seems to be unfair, I find there is always something extremely poignant when someone in the emergency services or, in this case, the RNLI, volunteers no less, dies so young. They frequently put their lives at risk to save others, and disappear so soon. Very sad.
  15. OK, I understand, there is no need to rub it in . Unfortunately, my wife doesn’t really like monkfish, Poor Man’s Lobster, so we rarely eat it at home, although I do often make myself a tasty lunch of monkfish cheeks with chorizo. I shall make sure to try the chilli monkfish dish next time I am across, probably next month or March.
  16. And, according to Joey, not very good at them either .
  17. I see this one quoted quite frequently, but, for some reason, I can never seem to get it - there is always a message (along with what looks like the old testcard) saying they are experiencing technical difficulties.
  18. I didn't know it was an unusual surname, but I used to work with a very nice girl many years ago (late 1970s) whose surname was Torrington. From Portishead, if I remember correctly.
  19. GJ's son, Lee, also called out Taylor Moore after one game, when, in my opinion, he was not even at fault for the defeat in question. Totally out of order and unjustified.
  20. I share your views entirely concerning Eastern Europeans. Your comment about Zambians brought back some fond memories. Many years ago I used to visit construction sites in the Middle East, and would often look somewhat disdainfully at the labourers (Indian, Pakistani, Yemeni and the like), lazy and trying their damnedest to avoid working - Yes, I understood that external manual work in extreme temperatures is tiring. The Zambians, however, were a totally different case, throwing themselves in to quite physical work, and always with a smile on their face.
