    TGH

I'm still mixed. Feel both can be guilty at times of 'hiding' when we're in possession, i.e. static at times. Knighty more so, especially when on the ball - has a habit of playing head down a bit too much. Led to a couple of times where we struggled to break the lines, especially when both at times left James isolated and Dickie and Vyner had issues finding them on the angles. Goal output still a slight concern. Hopefully both may improve and kick on with more games and training. To be fair to both however, thought Conway and Weimann were poor today - latter unfortunately looks like age, lacking a yard of pace, and a lack of confidence is catching up to him.
  2. I think the biggest difference is that Max would look for a quick release - people forget that Bents rarely did so, as he usually would fail to spot the run, and he'd never kick it into the channels. Secondly, Max with the cross today and the aerial claims - whereas Bents would stay glued to his line. Its the one area of Max's game which has improved massively since becoming number one.
  3. Disagree. What we are seeing on the pitch was a direct result of what our investment warranted. We lost our £25m lynchpin who broke lines fanatically from deep numerous times and replaced him with (no disrespect to TGH) a £900k replacement who a divisional rival didn't mind losing. The way we've played this season in struggling to break teams down is directly a result of NP's 'without Scott' plan being rescinded by upper management and nothing spent. Apparently the latter disagreed with further recruitment. Stupid but here we are.
  4. By logic on here I assume so.
  5. What worries me the most - where the **** has Terry come from. Half the squads birds will be shagged within a month.
  6. The only thing I'll give Marshall credit for. Apparently - at least according to my very minor understanding - he was the only one warning SL over MA/LJ's overspending - hence promoted to CFO.

    Nige

To hold that as a point against Nige considering the penny pinching that's gone on is outstanding. They should have backed him after the Scott sale. We've covered the issue with loans before. As for free agents - would take a month to get up to speed at least by which time it's almost Jan anyway. Waste of time and money. It didn't work out with Klose, not Williams, Bates, McManus, Mariappa and countless others before. It's poor planning and negligent strategic decision making. End of story. Same as 'moving him on' without a replacement lined up. Brum had a plan (a shite one, but a plan nonetheless) - here it's just endless bluster and no physical evidence.
  8. Part of the football side was culture - he couldn't manage the bloated squad.
  9. If it's one of these and/or Wade, I think that would be it for me.
  10. Because the leadership is useless.
  11. This is what annoys me most.
  12. Can't tell if you're trolling, ignorant, ill informed or genuinely that stupid. He got rid of 22 players and signed 14. In the space of 18 months with a net spend of £4-5m, removed a toxic culture, and won the League. It was not "in place for him like Raneiri's was", the only players in the first team that won the League that were at the club under Sven before Pearson's return were Schmiechel, Konchesky, King, and Nugent. *And Wes Morgan - dating on the season overview for when he joined in my resource was wrong. Sorry to everyone else for derailing this thread.
  13. Of the £15m spent in 11/12 - £12m was spent by Sven. So net £3m spent by NP, three players were released on highly paid terms the same month in an attempt to balance the expenditure. 12/13 he sold Mills for £2m, Bamba Undisclosed (thought to be £800k), Peltier Undisclosed (thought to be £500k) Signed de Laet, James, Vardy, Knoackaert all for £1m apiece, Wood undisclosed but suggested fee is £1m, so all told a net spend of £1.7m. I.e. total is a net spend of circa £4.2m. In regards to wages NP was working to reduce them in his time there, but they had high earners they couldn't shift including the likes of Gallagher, St. Ledger, Beckford, Danns, and Wellens who were all loaned out. I'm not going to deny Leicester were not high spending, especially with regards to salaries which is still applicable. But suggesting the false context above (that NP spent the whole £15m, which he did not) diminishes what NP did to an unreasonable extent. You can ask Leicester fans how he sorted them back out in his second spell. There's a reason he's so respected there. Otherwise he'd have less respect for what he achieved similar to Parker with Fulham for example.
  14. 2014. He made a net profit of £800k that season, and the only player he signed for a fee was Riyad Mahrez.
  15. Doesn't mean much. There shouldnt be this delay if at all deliberated and planned. Especially before playing bottom of the league is completely amateurish. Unfortunately, agreed. Being pessimistic in the hope they may pleasantly surprise me for the sake of my sanity.
  16. Would they? Only need to look at the fiasco after LJs sacking to realise that SL and planning aren't worthy of being discussed in the same sentence unless its in regards to property development. I have zero faith the longer this bumbles along with no appointment.
  17. Don't get this comparison. Ironically think Eustaces situ at Brum reminded me very much of what NP has done here. Only have to look at what's happened since they got "the name" in, for context of the job he did. Many of those clubs have links to the continent that led to said appointments. We have one of the most Brexit ownerships models in the league by comparison. Would understand this view (puppet, easy option, merry-go-round) much more if it was Rowett or Dean Smith, but it isnt. Its a manager who did one very good job, his only job, at this level in mostly very challenging circumstances.
  18. Best we could've hoped for. Under current ownership.
  19. Would argue they were the best side I've seen this season with regards to general effectiveness and seemed very well drilled.
  20. Tinns lost any remaining respect I had for him when he said he'd have no issues going on SOTC, flunked it, and served up that drivel. He's part of the band that snaked Nige in my eyes and I can't forgive him for that - they all need clearing out.
  21. Not for me - he doesn't have a style and has done nothing of note for three years almost now. Eustace or riot.
  22. Not many - but playing Devils advocate even in the realm of Championship expenditure, between MA and LJ, SL really fudged us. NP dug us out and was swiftly booted. The difference is now - there is some headroom. Why the two of them didn't give to Nige I honestly have no idea, aside from their own petty egos and ensuing disagreements with NP going forward.
  23. For those of us without FB - assuming its comments or a vid, can someone repost?
