  1. Agree entirely Great to see Scott back on the bench just sat with his mum and dad agard only just started running again yesterday so fingers crossed he gets a run as well
  2. Hmmm I think this pitch might suit us better than them you know lets hope your wrong
  3. Thanks for that pitch looks poor in places with lots of sand rugby !!!!!!!! joe is looking better nogs but it's more about Derek's fitness I think
  4. Wes Burns will get 2 from the bench. Like this Quote He will have to score them from the bench , tough ask !
  5. Yes you are entitled to an opinion, of course you are but you certainly did not make it clear it was an opinion. you wrote it as a statrment of fact and i am entitled to adopt the default position on behalf of the player, and that is to tell you that your views are not accurate, deflamatory to the player and without any foundation, and to indeed challenge you to provide the evidence to back up your claim. if you would like to share evidence privately I would be happy to reinforce my statement above and to share with you the basis for my defence. now lets get back to the match shall we and facts that really matter.
  6. What a load of slanderous crap, i can categorically tell you that you statement is completely untrue !! what this thread needs right now is another negative autopsy on JET. move on for pity sake if nothing else
  7. yes we do, we just choose to leave it on the bench until we are in trouble week in week out
  8. Sorry i was Just highlighting that managers sometimes take the easy route especially when it comes to established higher earners versus youth. Its an easier non confrontational thing to do and the club will want to preserve the value of its asset if they want to move taylor on in the transfer window. I did balance that by saying that i hope SC wouldn't follow suit. Apologies if i was a bit vague about why i highlighted what SOD would do and its relevance, but we don't know what SC will do under similar circumstances as he has been able to accommodate both wes and ryan on the bench up until now. But SOD dropped wes from the squad this season the moment taylor was fit and had to make a choice... And thats a Fact! Because you don't agree doesn't definitively Make me "daft" A simple i don't agree would have been kinder Happy new year
  9. He could drop Wes.... that's what SOD would do, and wouldn't think twice about it either. The Least agro decision is drop Wes and keep Taylor on the bench ..... job done.... of course i hope that doesn't happen another interesting decision needs to be made re the fact that Fontaine is in the 18 man squad now, again would you drop Carey ? if you try and name an 18 man squad for Saturday, then you will see what i mean about some tough decisions over the next few weeks. two will miss out plus Brundle Will it be Wes and Louis ? i really hope not
  10. Oh forgive me, your "drollish" response was meant for me was it ? I didnt respond, simply because I could not see a single thing in your rant which had any relevance to my post. I wasn't advocating ripping up the rule books, but i am suggesting we have some skill gaps. Also are you seriously suggesting SOD was not allowed to sign players Were you at yesterdays game ? I made it 7 out of the starting11 he was responsible for bringing in Plus three on the bench and two who did not make the squad and one who was banned. For the record, i wasnt in favour of the timing of the Sod sacking, but then again i never agreed with his appointment to begin with His record and style of football and more importantly results were lamentable. So yes some change needs to happen imo. And without the melodramatics and withoutbbreaking rules.
  11. Having watched the game yesterday and reflected for 24 hours, listened to SCs first post match, a couple of interesting things i think have happened that suggest some significant changes are about to happen. So firstly no Harewood on the bench No McLaughlin on the bench Joe removed at half time ( will come back to that ) More significant for me was the removal of both full backs Wagstaff at right back when Maloney removed was interesting. Bobby and Wes introduced in an attacking sense, the latter would not have even been on the bench under SOD. Post match bit that stuck out for me, was the moment he (SC) told us, that he actually already knows what he has to do. Yesterdays opening 45 mins was , as has been already said countless times, as bad a performance as i have seen this season. And i haven't missed many by the way. However i sense a shake up in tempo and approach, and to achieve that i equally sense he believes we need to change our full backs. Just a gut feeling, but one i have been thinking about for a while. Our full backs need to take the ball from the goalie and if they don't want it, they shouldn't be on the pitch. To witness our goal keeper and flint continuously lumping 50 yard punts into opposition territory yesterday was tragic to say the least. Where i don't agree with SOD and takes me back to Joe, is i believe joe can play LB and i think Wagstaff or Wynter could play RB Williams is a cert and i really rate that lad, but a first signing for SC must be a central defender. Then i believe we can add tempo from the back and draw the opposition midfield out. Bobby needs to play in front of solid midfield, something like kelly and pack, the former not just yet i accept. Jet i have not included and don't want to go any further than that as he polarises opinions enough but his funds are needed elsewhere. Sammy up front again as good as you will get in L1 Wes maybe off the bench depending on how the game is going Osbourne, well he is not ours to plan with so i haven't included him or McLaughlin Taylor ? Hmmmmm jury out, but doesn't have long one senses. That leaves at least two holes in midfield, well take your pick, but i am sure SC will sort that out and quickly after christmas. Anyway change and big change is a coming i sense.
  12. Wes is about as much an out and out winger as is humanly possible Certainly more so than any other option at the club presentiy. Thats been his problem with SOD ! Unless SC wants genuine width, then wes isnt going to feature much with him either, until he develops his more central role that is. Which to be fair to sod he was trying to do. Easy decision to have him on the bench today with all the non availabilty issues The test of desire for width and pace in this squad is yet to be determined and i wouldnt read that much into wes' inclusion today. He wont be !!!
  13. And in post match interview he also said burns has been "terrific" in training !
  14. Yes so pleased, its the youngsters we should all be studying tonight Hope bobby comes on at oldham as well
  15. Agreed and a good point, i think tonight is his get a good feel for it night, hopefully also gets 15 mins which for a young lad with all that excitement will be no problem despite yesterday 90 mins Good luck toby !
