  1. The Stones are at Hyde park next weekend and surprisingly there are still tickets left. If I wasn’t on holiday I would gone to that one. Now Macca’s playing my favourite “Something” and this is written by George
  2. After 2 back ops I wish I can move round like him at 55 let alone 80
  3. My wife has found out that my cousin who lives near Pilton goes in during the day but sleeps at her house each night. My wife always said “I won’t go away anywhere I can’t plug a hairdryer in.” so he’s now open to either staying at my cousins or hotel and shuttle box in. ?
  4. I’m still clinging in hope that they do reunite for a tour. But I can’t see it happening so have to rely on my ageing memory of them all those years ago.
  5. There is parking, I think it’s the Sam FM carpark or Cricket pitch but I saw signs saying parking £20 at both Killers and Elton John gigs I’ve been too.
  6. Bigger I mean, at the moment he’s supporting in big stadiums. A few years he could possibly be headlining. Watching Noel and can see he needs Liam with him. He’s good but not as good vocally. Had the pleasure of seeing Oasis at Wembley the night they didn’t bicker so was a great concert. With a mashed up Shaun Ryder at Happy Mondays. Now I feel old as that was 22 years ago.
  7. I saw Sam Fender backing up the Killers at the Emirates, and watching him now on Iplayer. Glad to see he’s got the crowd going, think he’s going to be a big act in a few years.
  8. He mentioned Bernie a lot on Wednesday. They worked as a team well all these years with Taupin delivering the words to his music writing. One thing I forgot was his piano skills and done a great bit at the end of Rocket Man with just him and the guitarist. The thing I did notice was he looked like a 75 year walking round and that’s with his new hips.
  9. It’s not just you, I find her really depressing. I watched about 5 minutes on TV last night and that was enough.
  10. Do they have any warm up bands playing or is it just mooch around checking out the site until Friday?
  11. Stuck in this traffic trying to get back into Wales. Thought we was in luck when they announced the new bridge opened as we got in the car at the Portway to hit 3 miles of traffic moving 2mph trying to get off at Magor. Back to Reg, thought he done a good show. He was one of my bucket list crossed off. First part was a bit slow apart from the best song he’s ever done Tiny Dancer and then Rocket Man. After his first change it was more lively and good sing along songs. Was worried about him trying the high notes but he didn’t attempt them and ruin his own songs. So apart from traffic a good night. Strange to go to a concert that finished at 9:30 but he is getting on. And went to the sports bar to get a drink to notice the ones outside were empty during the first part of show. So bonus there as well. Unlike the bars at the Killers which were rammed.
  12. Who told you that? Are you ITK? I’ve not seen anything on the OS. ?
  13. Have fun everyone, last time I went was 81 with Hawkwind headlining. Did go a few years later but only on the Sunday. Always wanted to go back but never got round to it, and now the wife won’t go anywhere she can’t plug her hairdryer into. We go on family camping holidays as long as they rent cottages on the campsite ? I’m off to see Reg tonight, hoping he mimes and don’t ruin Tiny Dancer for me.
  14. I don’t think (my opinion, before I get shouted at) that LJ was part of buying Palmer. He didn’t use him a lot on loan. I think after that comment “he needs a preseason to work with him” Ashton went out and bought him. Then LJ done similar again and not play him much.
  15. Posh gits in that school. We take the Wye Valley for granted here in Chepstow like the forest of Dean and don’t appreciate what we’ve got around us. Bet loads in Chepstow have never been into the castle or the Abbey.
  16. I can just remember my Nan telling me why and how she met my grandad. She was from the Rhonda and him from Bristol (hence why we all support City) . And she said that during the war a lot were stationed together. Here’s an interesting fact though. I was born where the Celtic Manor is and have friends also born there. But back then the district was either Monmouthshire or Gwent. When Monmouthshire you could be either Welsh or English for some reason. So a lot of my friends say they are English being born the same place as me. Likewise my uncle says he’s English as well on those grounds. For the record, I’m Welsh but my boys and wife, also my younger brother are English so I’ve never understood this rivalry. Apart from general banter in five/ six nations.
  17. Only for a couple of minutes ?
  18. The Second World War. Lots of families were thrown in it together from the surrounding areas. Believe it or not is your choice. But there are a quite a few of us Welshies that support City from a grandparent being Bristolian. There was also an influx of Welsh moving to Bristol when the mining went just to get work.
  19. Hope this is my coming season Wales in WC and City get to the Prem.
  20. Lots of Welsh blood in Bristol due to the war. My cousins in their 30’s didn’t know our Nan was Welsh as she died when they were young. The look on their faces was priceless when I told them.
  21. No worries, I have edited my reply with I don’t think England football has ever been played at Twickenham. May be wrong but I can’t ever recall football played there. However for some strange reason, the FA cup, play offs etc was chosen to be played at Millennium not Twickenham. So may be something to with RFU not wanting any football played. Also could be in return for Wales rugby using Wembley when Millennium was being built.
