Talks really well about the game. Prefer his comments to the hysterics of Micah Richards and the utter drivel spoken by Don Goodman on Sky. A refreshingly subjective view on the game. Would like to see more of him on higher profile games
I have rated him for a while as a pundit. He’s wasted doing punditry for Championship and League One on Sky!

Every successful team needs a Joe Williams.
Outstanding AGAIN.

That is his job imo. End of the window would work best so everything can be explained in one hit.
It’s going to be a club one though isn’t it? And we all know how they go…

Pretty much everyone said use the loan market to sign young premier league players (which usually wouldn't have a option to buy).
We literally have just done that
Everyone did, did they?

Tinnion and Lansdown can’t allow Manning to fail by finishing lower than Pearson so loan signing sanctioned.
This is exactly what it feels like…

Have to say it feels like pointless business if it’s a loan with no option to buy.
Burnley will come down next season, so we’re getting him ready for them to p*ss the league again.
Desperate.

And here is his highlights in the season prior to MK, when he was at Newport & Swindon (when he was out of contract )
I can see it’s grating you this…
Better late than never eh?

Maybe just a loan after all
If that’s the case then this deal is a bit pointless.

Quite sad to see it officially announced but I think it’s the right decision. He has been so good for us though, 50 goals in 200+ appearances. Not only his performances but his attitude has been fantastic for the younger players to feed off.
Definitely a modern City legend. All the best Andi!

Him & another striker to replace Andy, I’d take that if nobody else goes & window closes with the returning injured folks starting to appear too.
Midfielder I think.

There must be something more to it, if true?
He’s currently on loan at Hull, why move here on loan?

Our season is going nowhere. Wouldn’t we be better investing in the summer than spending enormous loan fees now?
I agree.

He reminds me a bit of John McGinn.

Also, Watford is followed by Coventry (a), Leeds (h), Boro (a), Southampton (h). Good luck with that little lot.
Might suit us.

Well, 14 of those years have been spent in the Championship, Lew, which is considerably better than the 20 years previously and actually compares pretty favourably with the spread of our 130-odd-year history. All depends how you look at it.
I would say the last ten years have not been matched since the 70s. But it’s hard to find any perspective these days. That’s not to say I’m not desperate for greater success but we’ve been pretty ordinary for a large part of our history, and more ordinary more often than recently.
20 years of poor decisions though isn’t it? Okay, Lansdown might have got one decision right in appointing Gary Johnson, but then what else? Steve Cotterill was Keith Dawe’s work.
The point is, it’s been 20 years of poor decisions, false promises and silence for the most part.

I would suggest, Lew, that’s because you don’t understand the laws as they are currently written. But you’ll probably disagree with that as well.
Ouch.

Yes.
And that’s not because of a couple losses in the league either. 20 years of failure and making the same mistakes.
The club is stale and needs freshening up.

I don't understand how a game (Bolton, in this case) can be abandoned because someone is taken ill ? In acrow of 20k the chances are someone is going to be "not very well". It just seems a bit
OTT and Nanny state these days. Of course nobody wants the guy to be ill, but stuff happens. I'v had the misfortune over the years to see a couple of people die in the ground nearish to me. Yes, it's not nice, but it just seems over reactionary to abandon the game because someone is taken out , perhaps it's just me, but it never used to happen .
Was mentioned a bit in the MDT.
I agree with you, but the game should only restart if the person has been treated and in medical care. Of course the referee is right to stop the game so that person gets the assistance they need as quickly as possible.
But the game should carry on.

Think this is where I am now with the club. Not surprised at today’s result. Accepted that will be how it is until the end of the season. We will pick up wins, lose a few as well. Performances will be up and down. Probably much like of Pearson were still in charge.
I have been a harsh critic of Manning. Not because of him, but under the circumstances he came in under and the comments made by the hierarchy at the time.
Do I see us progressing under Manning? Not really. Is it exciting football? Not really. But I do hope he brings in a couple this month to adjust to the club and indeed championship football if anyone is making a step up. We can then push on from the summer with a clean slate and prove me wrong.
How many seasons are we gonna write off though?
We’ve got to deliver at some stage.

No goals against Brum, Millwall and PNE in the space of a couple of weeks.
Pretty poor.

Second half yesterday a few others and myself were stood watching the game on a stairwell. I didn’t mind but somebody would have got hurt if we had scored again!
It was carnage.
