Regarding Pring, I think we’ll see O’Dowda come back into the side. Nige always talks about players coming into the side, that they have to take their chance of staying there. Overall Pring has done well so far, but with 3 games in a week, we might see a change on that left hand side.

I’ve been waiting for Joe Williams to blossom with us. He’s had a terrible time with injuries at City, hopefully that’s well behind him now. I was really excited when he signed, that excitement is still there. Pleased for the lad!

Great to see. I’ve got no worries about this squad going to Millwall away in midweek, because you know what we’re going to get. I certainly didn’t feel like that last season. Committed, proactive, never say die attitude and at the right times decent quality. Long may it continue.

Majority are at a good age too. I can see them dominating for some time… Unfortunately.

Dasilva is good around the halfway line and decent enough defensively, but I’d wouldn’t have him LW. I don’t think I’ve ever seen JD have a shot? He’s not really a player that bursts to the byline to whip balls in either.

Realistically how long has he got? Still looked pretty fit in the field and bowled at good pace.

We need better variety in our bowling too. Once Jimmy and Broad go, we can’t expect Robinson to lead the attack abroad, I get the feeling he would get the treatment on flat pitches. How long can Mark Wood’s knees hold up? When will Jofra be back?… Woakes is 32-33.

Yeah it’s obvious we need more quality in our batting but I think Root’s captaincy could improve. As a test side, we’re nowhere near ruthless enough. That stems from the captain and the coaches… So much work to do.

They’re unbearable.

We’re just a shambles of a test side. Haven’t had the right balance for years in our batting line up, re-selecting poor players to make it work. Balance, Jennings, Sibley, Lyth, Carberry, Robson, Stoneman… to name a few. Something has to change.
