  1. I have no doubt the decision was made after Sheff Utd on the sunday and then re-affirmed when they saw how few people were interested in turning up v league leaders on Tues.

And it is the right decision for me.

  2. Flippin heck - shocked at that. Thought the green shoots may have been appearing against LO. Now we'll never know.

Struggled with SoD to be honest. Had the right ideas but somehow didn't seem to effectively implement them.... was it the players or him? His public persona wasn't brilliant either and he made the fatal error of criticising the fans. As much as I was willing him to succeed, for whatever reason it just didn't seem to click.

I think the Board took note of the missing thousands. Fair play .. they've shown some balls. Absolutely critical now to get the right man for the Club .. and make sure it's for the long-term.

I thought there were green shoots with the Carlisle performance.

Then we saw utter cack at home again.

It was the odd good performance and a load of sh1t in between.

Sheff Utd for me probably sealed his fate - he was gone irrelevant of Tues result.

  3. Division Four next season. No doubt whatsoever.

Nope. Dont agree. This squad has always been good enough for top 8 in my opinion. You just look at the teamsheet and think 'how in god's earth are we 22nd and getting beaten at home by that Brentford team'.

The answer is clearly the tactics and formation - and that is the manager.

  4. Well i'm glad it's re-invigorated you, because by the looks of it city have disillusioned far more fans today than re-invigorated.

Can only speak for yourself can't you and it has re-invigorated me.

I just called my old man too and he said "Bloody good job, he was useless".

    Onwards and upwards.

  5. This has re-invigorated me in support for this club.

We had a man who was leading us down and we've cut him out and have the chance to bring in someone fresh.

To be 22nd in this division is absurd. As JL stated, the league table doesn't lie.

We went from expansive cavalier football losing goals at the back to dour rubbish locking up at the back, playing one up front at home and always, always liable to concede.

He didn't seem to have any idea what he should be doing - despite his legendary monotone stuff on the radio.

He is gone - we are the better for it - and we need to move on and up,

  6. People have said that about all of our last 4 or 5 managers, including GJ.

Not me. It's the first time I have said it for a manager and it is.

    It's terrible.

The football was better over the last few managers and the quality of footballers was better.

How on earth anyone can think Aden Flint is a quality football player if fking beyond me.

  7. I dont get our club no wins in 13 and he stays then 1 loss in 7 and he gets the sack... unbelievable

Within that "1 in 7" were still utter horsesh1t performances and a load of draws.

His term with us has been one of failure. Some of the worst standard of football I have seen down there in years.

  8. I don't think we were, did you go to the Sheffield game?

I am not saying it is the correct decision but I don't think things were getting better.

    Things were not getting better.

We had the odd game where we looked alright - then we would have 2 games of sheer utter dross.

  9. To be honest, I think everyone can do whatever they like.

The only issue I took was reading that I was fickle while driving back from Tranmere by a bloke who admitted he didn't go.

If the reason is because I took my two kids to watch their team (their local football club and good on them) then he's got nothin.

  10. Is it not hypocritical to call someone fickle who has attended games they themselves have not???

If he went to every game I would potentially get it - but calling me fickle then admitting to not going himself, when I did. Well clearly he doesn't get it.

That one really is a strange one on me but I am not sure I have the willpower to carry this on anymore.,,,,,

  11. I came away from that Reading game two things really -

    1. Frustrated to see sides play football the way I wish we did and thinking back to the season we came up, knowing we CAN play like that.

    2. Proud of the two kids that they (like I did) support their hometown football club and not a Prem big 4.

  12. I think people support the club in many ways. Not everyone can go away, not everyone can afford to or have the spare time to do it.

    I can't always do it.

Where I do take issue is when people accuse others of not being a fan - but then where it for me goes into the ridiculous is to call out someone for being fickle whilst they have just travelled the lengths of the country and this same person has not.

If the basis is because I took my two kids who support Reading to watch them play the other week, then so be it. Happy with my record as a fan and also my record as a dad the other week.
