  1. I’d prefer us to build a new stadium on the current location, I like it being in the middle of a council estate / working class area, the plot is huge and you could build a couple of sides whilst still using the current stadium, then maybe we’d play home games away somewhere for a season. Sentiment is growing thin now that most homes fans are very realistic about the state of the stadium. If they don’t build from scratch I’d just like a matching West Stand to mirror the huge East Stand, then build the ends up to the same height without necessarily adding too much capacity, problem is Elland Road that runs directly behind the South Stand probably makes that idea a no go. PS just know it isn’t just the away fans than have utterly shit toilet facilities!
  2. I thought this would get a thread. Yes the price is disgusting, yes those prices are exactly the same for home supporters in that stand, no we aren’t happy. Yes the ground is a crumbling mess, as a Leeds fan I would go as far as shit hole that is depressing other than the one “newer” large East Stand. New owners have plans to either build a new stadium or certainly revamp. The away fans used to be in the Cheese Wedge but Simon Grayson wanted home fans behind both goals and the Cheese Section meant you had home fans in close proximity from three angles so doesn’t lend itself to safety when our ******** “fans” meet other ******** “fans”. Hopefully this will only be a temporary inconvenience to you as we leave the division this season…? In seriousness the PL is shit, at least we might get a bit more life out of the fans in the Champ.
  3. In no way shape or form should anything he pointed at Allardyce (unbelievable he’s the manager), we have a really shit unbalanced squad full of spineless individuals. There is nothing for any manager to work with, the signing of Marsch who we had “scouted for over a year” as a continuation of the Bielsa project was horrific, then not supplying Bielsa with money as we were saving it for Ted Lasso was incredible. I genuinely believed if we went down under Bielsa, who better to try and bring us back up? Now we have no plan, no succession and an owner who wishes he sold us two years ago instead of arrogantly holding on believing his own hype that a 9th placed finish wasn’t a miracle, he saw that and thought he could ride out a few years of the gravy train with no danger of relegation. Bielsa said fire me or buy me players for these positions, the board did neither and hung him out to dry. The board incredulously didn’t want Bielsa to manage the 2nd PL season as they wanted Lasso to take over, problem is the fan base would have gone berserk after the first season back was so successful, so they chose the slow death route and discarded him, the fans knew but the board were too up their own arses to realise Bielsa actually held every aspect of the club together, far more so than a manager would normally do and he compensated for their negligence in many areas, you won’t ever hear him say those words because he’s a decent man. We deserve relegation, nothing about this season has indicated otherwise.
  4. Looks like I’ll be sitting on my hands at Ashton Gate once more ? The board especially but also the players deserve this, shocking to get rid of Bielsa who held every aspect of the club together for a travelling book salesman from America, when we kept him on past October I’ve always felt we were down, Gracia was appointed because no one else wanted the job, Big Sam isn’t what we need but it was worth a shot. Victor Orta finally given the boot, he has built this squad and spunked millions on absolute dross, £35m on a young striker who doesn’t play, £42m awarded by CAS for a player we didn’t even register as our own because we welched on a deal (our own incompetent fault), we have a few assets to sell, we do have some very very good youngsters whom are good enough for the Championship, like always it all depends on what manager you get, this ownership have had 7 cracks at appointing a manager, struck gold once and ****** it every other time, funny that the manager is the most important signing a club can make…who would have thought. I don’t see us going back up, an aging squad, players starting 3 years on who were in the Championship, they’ll be on decent wages and hard to shift, I personally think we are there for the taking next year. I’m not even sad about going down, since Bielsa left there has been nothing to like about the club or the players who have completely phoned in performances this season.
  5. My best friend mentioned this on his FB which made me look here for a thread. It is a big anomaly, in 2017-18 we (Leeds) went 418 days without a penalty in any competition, it’s a joke. Mind you, playing Cardiff in the cup this week reminded us of what life was like before VAR and it was ******* glorious, score a goal, celebrate whilst looking over at the lino just to make sure the flag isn’t up, go wild / limbs. I would take referee errors (ie not getting pens) every single day over the soulless, clinical shit stain that is the Premier League. I enjoyed finishing mid table in the Championship more than the last two seasons of the PL, the journey is far more fun than the destination.
  6. We (Leeds) have slight interest in him. £25m smacks of a Chairman fed up of bankrolling the club, can’t blame him but no one is paying North of £20m and even that is too much, £12-15m is realistic imo.
  7. 20-25 is far too much, people will want to see him consistently playing in his best position before spending that. Unless you have FFP issues he won’t be going anywhere as no one will pay what you want this season.
  8. I just sent my best friend a reminder we signed Ayling for pennies ??? Questionable quality at times in the PL but gives it everything and makes things happen.
  9. A common misconception. £8m a year included ALL of his backroom staff that he employed. From coaches to analysts he gave the club an overall budget for all staff and then employed people within that budget (including translator etc) He paid the £200k fine out of his own pocket, did raffles at Christmas for office staff only where the top prizes were new cars!! Gave a team talk so some under 11s during international break as he was bored and wanted to watch football.
  10. Sounds odd, I’m not alone in thinking about gives a **** about survival. We’ll be a sports division is American owners where we aren’t a priority to them, they won’t give a shit other than the numbers. Top 6 in the PL is a closed shop (okay Leicester sometimes do it), unless you have a huge benefactor then you won’t achieve anything, which is why the manager was loved, we had something enjoyable, entertaining to make up for the fact we won’t win anything, whereas all other clubs are pretty boring. The soul has been taken out the club and if the new manager doesn’t start flying it’s going to get nasty real quick. I was there at the 2-2 game and it’s one we always bring up, we hit the bar in the last second as well, loved that game.
  11. Gutted, absolutely gutted. Fan poll last night on our main forum was 90/10 he should stay. All season we’ve had a worse / on par team with our promotion year injuries have killed us. The owner has agreed to sell the club in its entirety in summer, arguments because they wanted THEIR own players in and Bielsa wanted his players in, the manager is done and will be announced Monday, Jesse Marsch to fit in with our new shiny American owners. Yes he wouldn’t change his system but the individual mistakes made have been horrific, most of the new signings haven’t bought into his ways and are causing issues. He deserved the chance to finish the job, players are back next week (Bamford / Phillips), he deserved the chance to walk out the front door. Bielsa via his humility, taking the blame for everything (even stuff not his fault) has shielded the board and the team from everything, they’ve lost their shield and the board / new board and the players who have EVERYTHING to thank him for can get ******. We were an average bang average championship team before he arrived, it’s clear this season he has not been allowed to sign his own players as it was already decided he was going. The man deserved more, many of you might think cheat blah blah but as a man you couldn’t wish for a better bloke in the city or community to manage / represent the club, unbelievable he’s not been allowed to finish the season. A new manager won’t get a better tune out of these. Absolutely devastated, loads of people at the training ground (fans) saying goodbye to him today clearing his stuff crying (him and the fans) and stuff, it’s just not right. It wasn’t just a job to him, he was not only accepted but unconditionally loved by us fans, in his crappy little flat above a sweet shop, where fans delivered him homemade food during the pandemic, last night was a man all alone having had his heart broken by some ***** that he gave everything to.
  12. Out of all those I’d say only Sunderland probably think they should, it’s all about owners and managers, not about players. I think for too long Bristol City under Johnson (or as the Leeds podcast likes to call him “the dwarf”) there was zero ambition, just an acceptance that the Championship “is your level” and something the fans should be grateful of, grateful of being in the top half…. I’d actually like to see you promoted to see what would happen with Lansdown, I actually think you’ve had the opportunity in the past 10 years but a complete lack of any plan by owner / manager has robbed you of it. Clearly Lansdown is FAR better than anyone we had between 92-18, the stadium in places really looks the part (ours needs complete redevelopment), but do you think that it’s time for him to move on if you are to achieve promotion, or is it a case of settling for the status quo?
  13. You’ll find I’ve historically posted on here many times. My best friend is a City fan and after attending each game between us I’d give a little match report from “the other side”. I actually came to your forum last night because Bristol City’s financial results were talked about and discussed on the Leeds forum, until that moment I actually had no reason to visit. Belittling? Not really Hearts and minds? Not that interested Do you think Pearson can help you through this transition period? You’ve sold a crap load of players in the past 7-8 years that could have made a probable promotion chasing side, is there a point when Lansdown says enough is enough and stops the support?
  14. Nice to see all the love guys ? To answer a few questions. Yes Bielsa does speak English, he’s just not confident enough to answer in his detailed manner using English. The Premier League is shit, not because of the results but the “stinky six” get EVERY ******* decision. Amazing how Rudiger tonight and Kane / Xhaka last week stay on the pitch, Liverpool player breaks a Leicester players leg with a horrific challenge and Klopp doesn’t come ONTO THE PITCH putting his arm round the ref to get a player sent off, like he did against us when it wasn’t even a foul! Judge Bielsa when we have a full squad, there have been definite cracks this season, however we are utterly ****** for injuries, truly truly ******. Recruitment has been poor to be honest which hasn’t helped, in game decisions have been horrific at times from the manager. Its been circulating that this will be his last season, we all hope not to be honest, the squad needs a complete overhaul as age is catching up with many, which when you consider the fitness required makes it worse. The one city / club thing I have mentioned on here before, Bristol just doesn’t have that pedigree, it doesn’t have the real needle and bloody mindedness, it doesn’t have the aggression (not on about fans with handbags), it doesn’t have any expectation of being ambitious, it’s sad really but it is what it is. Fans, yes we are obnoxious c***s, but the support for the team is undeniable, the support for the manager is unwavering. At present we are injury ravaged playing the top 6 and getting pumped, we aren’t going to beat them with what we have on the pitch at the moment so why do anything else other than support? All clubs have sections of fans that think their support is great / the best but I’m yet to see it, all the “big” clubs have tourist fans and library atmospheres that clap when they score, almost like an expectation and boredom they’ll score, it’s weird. To summarise, the Premier League is not what it’s cracked up to be, it’s still “officiated” by a small inbred pool of morons, but now they extend that to some absolute dribblers in front of some screens so they can all “miss stuff” that would inconvenience the bigger sides. Anyway, onto you guys. How the **** are you struggling in what is the poorest Championship quality wise for years?
