Absolutely gutted. Cav is one of my favourites of all time in any sport and was clearly still good enough to win again at the Tour. That said, going out on his shield like that isn't entirely unfitting. A seriously hard man, mentally and physically. No sprinter will get near that record for a long time, if ever.
