    Ah, more #gaslogic.

Bristol Sport - Company registered in Bristol, Owner lives in the Channel Islands. Booooo tax dodging sheed. Bad bad bad.

Dwayne Sport - Company registered in the Channel Islands, Owner lives in Bristol. Hooray, he's such nice man, Sag legend, we love him, good good good.

    ********.

    Does he????

I genuinely don't know but would be amazed if they've moved from London. Why make the commute to watch the team you support in West london longer than it has to be???

Cheap gag aside, do you know he's moved the family to Bristol or are you guessing? My guess would be they live as far away from the Blue Few that they possibly can

    Simple arithmetic I think.

The average for that season was about 10,100 and they got 26,000 when we went there on Good Friday just before we got promoted. There were about 20,000 reds there.

If they’d got a ‘normal’ game and gate that day the average would have been around 9,200 for the season.

Even a derby game would not usually have attracted more than about 17,000 at Ikea at that time. That 9000 extra equates to almost 400 per game, reducing the average below 10,000.

So, the 10,000 average that year is basically down to us.

Sorry, I'm with you now - you're on about 75/76 (was confused by the IKEA reference)?

So yes, that was just about the last time they had a 5 figure average home gate (may have had one a season or two later as well - used to know a website where you could look up this sort of junk but I'm beggared if I can think of it now).

  3. 8 hours ago, Bianconeri said:

Let’s not forget that the last time they scraped over 10k average it was largely thanks to 20k of us who pitched up at Ikeaville as we chased promotion. Without that bonus attendance the average would have been nearer 9k.

    Not sure that's correct.

They may have got more than 10K for that one derby game you refer to but they haven't had an average home gate over a whole season of £10K or more since the 1970s.

That's a whole FORTY YEARS of piss poor attendances - 7, 8 or 9K averages and in the year they left Eastvile it was 6-something.

We didn't coin the phrase The Blue Few for nothing.

So he's saying there's a correlation between training facilities and results on the pitch, then provides an example to back up his argument which proves the opposite. Genius!

(If Bury use Man City's old facilities why are they bottom of the league, sh*tferbrains?!)

All he's doing is looking for excuses now their progress has stalled rather than admit he's run out of ideas. This was always going to be his acid test - getting Salisbury promoted or a club the size of Rovers out of non league is one thing but how was he going to handle the pressure when things weren't going his way? Not very well, at the moment. Long may it continue.

They think they'd get over 45k crowds in the premier league???!!!!!!! Oh dear, I just spat out my Sauvignon Blanc and laffed loud for (ironically) about 45 seconds! They've never got anywhere near a crowd like that in their history, their record crowd is 38k, which is decent, but that was 57 years ago! The world has changed....they struggle to get 8k or 9k now and they think we are deluded?! As soneone said above, I don't know any City fan who thinks we'd get 45k plus in the Prem....for what it's worth I think we'd average around 24.5k in the Prem....

They've not managed an average home gate of more than 9,000 since the 1970s.

So 40 years and counting since anyone gave a toss about watching them in significant numbers. Pathetic. Shitehouse. The Blue Few indeed.

Go Wally Al-Khazi, do your worst.

    One Team.

He isn't a hooligan, so why would he stand and take a pasting from some inbred knuckle draggers?  His videos highlight the match day experience, including running from retards, if that is part of the experience.

Any sane human wouldn't want a punch in the face or a stamp on the head just for watching a football match would they?

Why put it on the internet?

    Mememememememememe.

Nope he ain't Gas. Watch the video of Adam in the S82 for the Hudds game.

I watched a really old vid where someone asked him City or Rovers and he says clearly that he uses to have a ST at AG but played in Rovers academy. So a neutral really. He's also Chelsea as his old man is from that way.

    Fair enough.

Still not sure about filming yourself running away and then putting it on the internet though.

As I said - is there no end to the meme vanity of today's yoof!?

Now the season is effectively over ............

............ have they got any other 1/2 tidy players we can sign on the cheap?

£300,000 was about right for Taylor.

    tfj

Like his old man, Bodin has a good left foot.

Is he quick enough - of thought and movement - for life in the Championship?

You watch Taylor and think he ain't quick enough of either but look at the results in the last few weeks!

PS. No, no, no - let's not sign any more gAssholes. Whisper it quietly but the reason for the Blue Few's recovery is down to dopey Darrell Clarke, a Coach far better at getting 100% out of the resources available to him than someone else I could mention...

i thought it was a mini documentary about really crap grounds and that they'd won a 'really crap ground' competition! ...

Yes wasn't it lovely to see the Portaloo toilets, the pasty huts, the south "stand" or do I mean tent, the ridiculous Centenary Stand (Centenary of the Rugby Club, mind - the ground's rightful owners), that vagrant who runs around in midfield for them always raises a laugh, a Bodin finishing on the losing side... I could go on...

I popped out to watch 2nd half of Spurs - Arsenal in the pub which had rather too many gAssholes in it for my liking (long story). There was a bit when, with Spurs 2-0 up, the coverage cut to Spurs supporters holding up a "Mind the Gap" banner - cue an embarrassed silence in the pub whilst silently, inside, I laughed my ass off

Interesting he showed match action for this game, but didn't when he was at Ashton Gate? I thought all league football was copy write?

"Roll out the barrel, we’ll have a barrel of fun. Roll out the barrel, we’ve got the Blues on the run."

Really think S82 should be booming this one out at every game! How many years is it now, gAssholes?

PS. Great to see Wally Al Khazi on that video - what a top job that man is doing!

Well something happened today at the Gas v Millwall...

    @AdamThurston posted this earlier...

14:45 in case anyone wants to skip over the Gas lap of honour...

Love it - a fat gass'ole actually filmed himself running away, and then put it on the internet.

Is there no end to the meme vanity of today's yoof!?

Pretty sure he wouldn't say "**** off Millwall" to their faces either.

    Morning Hav and all.

I can see today going two ways. Either ROD has an absolute stormer and we lose 1-0 or Matty Taylor has an absolute stormer and we win 2-1 with a goal from the gashead and one from Tommo.

I doubt Ekstrand will start as he isn't match fit but I fully expect to see him play for maybe the final 10 and he might get a hostile reaction after his comments earlier in the week.

If we lose today, OTIB goes into meltdown. Eeek.

    17 minutes ago, ciderbeans said:

Ekstrand has barely any match playing time in the last 18 months so can't imagine he would be up to scratch and O'Donnell conceded 4 goals in his first game for them so if we get the chances, goals could happen in good numbers. I predict biggest win of the season here.

Rotherham are at the Aztec Hotel & Spa - Ekstrand isn't with them. ROD is.

My informant says they think they're playing "Bristol" today. This sort of thing used to annoy me but, as time goes on, it becomes increasingly obvious in all sorts of ways that there's only one team in Bristol so why say more than that!

    You mean the 1950's ?

Ah, but what a manager Rovers had then eh Rich ?

Clough, Ferguson & Shankly all rolled into one with just a touch of the Arsene although we won't go into that.

Up at post 11199 RumRed has a photo of Stephen Lansdown and in it I have to say he looks just like a farmer I used to buy gallons of cider from goodness knows how many years ago. This is not intended to be disrespectful. In fact I wonder how many other fans thought something similar when they saw that photo. A typical West Countryman - one of your own you might say - and certainly not the stereotypical image of a grey faceless businessman.

I thought it was rather nice.

On the other hand Rovers now have a non-Bristolian owner for the first time in our history and we must work out how we are going to adapt to this situation and compete with Bristol City in a way which will inspire our fans and attract neutrals to our cause. I would suggest the rather weedy response of re-tweeting about Facebook likes which can be purchased for £ 120 per 10 000 from thesocialguys.co.uk is a sign that we have not yet come up with a winning strategy.

Stop being so bloody reasonable. The internet wasn't invented for such behaviour and it gives people entirely the wrong idea about the Blue Few.
