  1. Living by the ground is great, albeit not without the odd frustration. As City & Bears season ticket holders it's ace; sitting in your garden with a free Killers, Manics, Muse, Arctic Monkeys etc concert too is a bonus, as well as making a few quid for parking off gullible gig go-ers with more money than sense. But anyone who moves here and then has the gall to bellyache about it all is a bit much really.
  2. The cramped changing rooms & cold showers were all part of the fun! We used to have 3 teams getting ready in the same changing room and it was fair to say you all got to know each other pretty quickly! I don't miss that trudge down to the Sea Walls and back on a cold, rainy, winter's day though . . . Great times.
  3. Yes. But then they say theY expect RPZ to be phased out or something?
  4. Best thing would be to get him to agree a pay-as-you-play deal.
  5. As a fellow BS3 (Smyth Rd) resident I think the poll was done by Mark Bradshaw a while back, maybe a couple of years. Support for RPZ south of North St was only marginally ahead of no restrictions so I think it kinda got kicked into the long grass. The most recent stuff I have heard about RPZ is that the council are looking at potentially scrapping them. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/bristol-residents-parking-zone-permits-8503430 Not forgetting though that there was a stipulation after the AG rebuild that if there were a certain number of games in a row that exceeded (I think) 20,000 attendance then the club itself had to fund & implement a matchday parking scheme in the surrounding roads. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/ashton-gate-survey-residents-matchday-1237820 To sum it up: nothing will change.
  6. Yeah once they stop tweeting about the Arctic ****ing Monkeys eh.
  7. I hope Dickie turns out to be Mint (one for our older readers, there)
  8. Surely you should call it a Cheeseley Board?
  9. Don't get me wrong, I'd quite like to see him back down here. But only if he's good enough and fits into the wage-structure. And more importantly, that he wants to be here.
  10. ex-footballers, even those that have had decent spells in the Prem on big money, are an awful long time retired. He's a clever lad, he'll know that he needs to maximise what might be his last decent move/contract and I'd easily expect clubs a bit more desperate/flamboyant with their cash than us would be prepared to push the boat a bit further than we would for him. City fan or not, this is going to be a transaction for him, not some rose-tinted return "home"
  11. Not if he has been offered a longer deal on better money!
  12. I really doubt that many cardiff fans would get too excited about them signing Bryan.
  13. They described Bournemouth as "West Country" a few weeks ago. FFS. They are truly, truly, awful.
  14. It was, as usual, excellent. Usual selection of different small plates but by far and away the Octopus was the star of the show. We also had the Lemon Sole, Meatballs, crispy potatoes, watermelon and the Halloumi. Along with a large glass of white for ‘er indoors and a large rosé for me. Our table booking was fairly early at 7:15pm but it was nicely busy but I’m sure it would be much busier and buzzier in another hour for sure. recommended as always, as it seems to keep turning out great value and delicious food pretty much on our doorstep.
  15. A one year holiday in the championship was absolutely no punishment whatsoever. Total pisstake.
  16. Booked into Souk Kitchen on North St for Anniversary Meal on Saturday. It's bloody lovely in there, cosy & atmospheric.
  17. Genuine question re: CATS. How much before the game do they tend to arrive at the away ground? Do you have enough time to find a local away-friendly pub for a beer and a bite to eat?
  18. Berger Paints, wasn’t it? Behind what was the old pub The Glasscutter
  19. That bit in bold is surely fair? I'll admit he was fantastic to watch this year - and I'm sure it's not gone un-noticed - but surely he himself is realistic about the next level of remuneration he should be elevated to?
