  1. I've got to say I've never known players go back to their tables and drink so much water before either......
  2. A few years ago a guy called Gerwyn was invited to attend a darts competition at my social club, he didn't get on that well that day but came along as he wanted experience as was about to enter the PDC Q school. But fair play he's done pretty well for himself since
  3. I know how difficult it can be to talk about certain topics, this NHS link may be a useful starting point? https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/stress-anxiety-depression/mood-self-assessment/
  4. Thought the same, very gracious in his interview. Showed his real class not only as a player but also as a person
  5. MVG completely off his game, never seen him play so badly
  6. I had to laugh at how many times the commentary team mentioned this
  7. Mervyn King wearing his ear plugs
  8. Gary Anderson was on fire today Funny how he is now saying he is staying around for the long haul after he wins a game Potentially MVG Vs Gary Anderson in the semi finals could be interesting
  9. Turn on with Cullen 3-1 up, it all went wrong from there. Joe Cullen will have nightmares about missing those two match darts. What a time for the poor lad to run out of steam. MVG gets emotional, red eyed and then turns up a gear into a machine. He's definitely there to be beaten
  10. Was involved in a sponsored event with him in Weston. He flew down from Newcastle on the Friday morning after super league the previous evening. Claimed he had about 3 hours sleep. After the event a few of us went to a private bar, typical average sportsman he was waving his cash every opportunity, when we bought drinks it was JD and a mixer, when Chizzy bought drinks he was buying bottles of JD with champagne. To be fair to him he seemed a genuine chap, and was gutted a serious injury prevented him becoming a pro footballer. Remember giving up about 3am, he kept going much later and left straight to go to another event. Hardly the controlled professional sportsman
  11. Safe to assume the numbers released this afternoon are a reflection of Manchester City yesterday
  12. The below is from their own testing figures; In total there has been 24,615 tests, of these tests 111 originally tested positive - no details on how many of these were false positives Which breaks down into a weekly average of 1538 tests and 6.9 positive results. The past two weeks have both been under the average, so will be interesting to see if there is a spike anywhere, but clearly doesn't match anything like that of the wider general public
  13. interesting debate on Sky sports news at the moment Approx £10k per week for an EFL side to have complete testing Premier League clubs have offered to pay for EFL clubs testing when opponents in cup matches and the EFL club has turned down the offer
  14. Anderson not happy in his interview, but not sure that he needs to moan about not getting the allocated table. He's absolutely raging, poor interviewer was on the end of that rant
  15. What a time for Dolan to not hit any trebles. Price vs King will be interesting not just for the darts but for their shenanigans off the board
  16. Terrible infighting in the end with another breakaway organisation taking over. Last I saw some counties were staying with the BDO
  17. MVG is a machine tonight so far
  18. Peter Wright gone, now for MVG
  19. His only problem will not having the crowd there. He gets beaten in the weekly competitions but random players
  20. Wasn't there a study that a footballer didn't actually stand close enough to a specific player to contract the virus? I'm still amazed the EFL are not routinely testing Not sure there's any reason or evidence that would back up that % of players would be higher than any other industry. Only Man City would have a complete test of staff, but surely that is the whole squad and staff around training and matchday squads. Apart from maybe one or two clubs numbers affected have always been low When the EFL brings in mass testing in January will be the make or break time on a larger scale Below shows tests in the Premier League, clearly indicating there's not any mass problems
  21. One thing I didn't know until this evening is that there is no testing in the EFL players are only being identified following having symptoms. In January all EFL players and staff will be tested that will be interesting to see what that finds
  22. We can all agree 2020 has been a year like no other any of us have experienced before, and with that has brought many added pressures to people at a time of year where suicide rates increase. Please, if you feel alone or are struggling, try to talk to someone. Life might not always feel like living and you may feel like you are at rock bottom, but the world is a much better place with you in it. Personally this site really helps me, I have really low and negative days but keeping in touch with the Bristol City family is a massive thing. If anyone ever feels alone, please reach out. You can message me, or one of the many other supportive posters on here, or even talk to someone. I won't divulge personal information but I can't thank those people enough that have picked up when I've been struggling and taken the time to message me. We come from all backgrounds, beliefs, age groups and football teams etc, but I believe everyone on here would look out for a friend in need. A few of the Bristol City social media accounts shared the below today. Hopefully it'll also appear on the official website too.
  23. There is something satisfying about this picture
