Haven't seen him since he had his burger stall outside of Selco in Bemmy

Used to make a rather nice sausage and bacon roll, always had to have one when stopping in to Selco (while the office rang our office to sort out our credit limit normally!). Was his name Martin or am I getting confused?

I will do this in future. Lesson learned

Had the same problem when I went to watch the womens team against Man Utd - 14k attendance and they had two turnstiles open. Tickets wouldn't load, so from then on all tickets are now screenshot and WhatsApp'd to my wife and girls before I've even left the house.

Also remember seeing Michael Grade in the pub (not sure now if it was the Wedlock’s or the Nova Scotia?) before the Charlton FA Cup tie the year we knocked Liverpool out (so in ‘94) they beat us at AG & I’m pretty sure then drew Man U away.

Good chance we were there together?

We drew 1-1 at home, lost 2-0 away I think.

Liv Clarke is a vg shot stopper and it was a top notch save, BUT she is so weak when it comes to dealing with high crosses. Their goal was a high cross inside the 6 yard box and she was just rooted to the line, hoping our defenders win it. She did that on another couple of corners too, but thankfully didn't cost us. IF she could learn to come and claim, or even punch out, those sort of crosses she would be a top keeper.

Overall though an unexpected point against a Liverpool side who were 5th in the table. Easily best performance of the season to date, Syme made a big difference and should keep her place even if/when Jones is fit to return.

Has Liv done something to piss you off? I notice during and after every game that you have a real downer on her. You seem to have forgotten that a) she is a very young keeper and b) she wasn't even supposed to be here this season, was supposed to be out on loan but was called back to cover for injuries but is now keeping an experienced Haaland out of the team.

I recall hearing a story about the coach picking someone up at a Lawrence Weston pub, was that him? Bobby hutch certainly enjoyed his time here, you never knew where he was going to be commented TC, never effected his all action style though

Bound to be Micky, always floating around the pubs and sports clubs of L-Dub/Shire

  6. I would have Williams here, solely for the fact I can't remember the last time we had a manager/head coach who was follically challenged and had a bit of the extremely light blond in his beard. Would certainly make me feel better about how I have aged anyway!

The Post are reporting that the new planning application will take the club back to square one and all previous letters of support/objection will be disregarded with new support/objections based on the new application. I'm not sure if that is the case, but if so it will take it into next year despite being "fast tracked".

    https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/neighbours-told-bristol-rovers-re-8787562

Any Interested Party representations only apply to the current application. Therefore, anything that has already been submitted will be null and void once the application is withdrawn. Nothing to stop IPs from writing in again, saying that their previous reasons for support/objection still stand and attach their original rep.

Guessing this is either procedural or to ensure that it now goes through as quickly as possible.

The total naivety of those on here saying that it will be refused & will have to be taken down, they have had someone on the inside with a vested interest who has been pushing this ahead of the usual queues all along. Same thing applies with the Fruit Market project, even though that appears to be dead.

If they were a halfway competent outfit this stand would be in use by now.

I would imagine (dealing with planning day-to-day as I do) that BCC as the LPA have advised that the application is likely to be rejected, and that with modification x,y and z it should go through, so the best thing is to withdraw and resubmit. That's normally the reason behind application withdrawals, I could be totally wrong though!

I actually like the home one, (hated the “Arsenal” one) but as a 60 year old who last bought a replica shirt when Terry Cooper was manager I somehow don’t think I’m the demographic they’re after..

Stick to the calendar Graham - whilst all the other bigwigs at work had team planners etc on the wall, Graham had the City calendar. Its why he's one of my favourite ex-bosses!

That song was a staple down at Chicago Rock on the Harbourside back in the day (90s). Everyone shouting, “Alice, Alice? Who the…?” A right rabble raiser.

There will probably be complaints about the effing though.

Loved Chicago Rock, the crowd I went out with in the 90s always seemed to be celebrating a birthday each weekend, nothing to do with the fact that if you told the DJ in the little booth in the corner it was your birthday he gave you a free bottle of bubbly!

  11. I'm assuming these dhgate tops are the same ones you can buy from the markets in Turkey? We've not long got back from there, my eldest daughter got the Bayern Munich floral top (Oktoberfest edition) and my middle daughter got the Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Inter Miami tops. They ate all surprisingly good quality and it is actually quite hard to tell them apart from the real thing. Plus I managed to haggle them down to £30 for the four tops, so can't go wrong for £7.50 each!

Yep & I’ll bet very good money they have been tipped off by BCC that permission will sail through.

Bristol Labour group are very noticeably & vocally behind them (remarkably mute though during the Ashton Vale saga, weren’t they?) & have effectively portrayed the Greens as anti development to the point where they are being forced to come out & say they are in favour too but want the correct process followed.

Must be amazing to live outside of South Bristol & have local politicians who give a **** about where you live, eh?

You'd be surprised Graham at the number of cases that come across my desk where the LPA have indicated that permission is likely be granted in their pre-application advice, only for the proposal to be turned down by either the planning department of the committee.

  13. Used to get the train on the Severn Beach line when I worked in Easton and lived in Avonmouth. It baffles me why they have felt the need to spend the amount they have done when there is a perfectly good station in Shire, less than 0.5 of a mile from the P&R.

It’s that good a letter any one would have thought perhaps someone in planning wrote it -  ?? your secrets safe with us Homer

Can't take the credit for that one, I'm the poor sap that has to read through all of these when they go to appeal!
