Starting to feel like we actually have something to build on this summer. Rather than just "oh shit sign some good players quick" like last summer.
That first goal today was great, and the Semenyo finish was excellent too. So much young talent too. I feel more optimistic than pessimistic.

I would be more surprised if he said "most won't be"
It's incredibly unlikely that he's going to offload half the squad isn't it?!
As long as he gets rid of the players where we are paying too much wages for their contribution to the team, then that's fine by me.

I think we will either:
a) lose and play without really giving a shit because we're safe
b) play the best football we've played all season because we're safe

I think there are a fair few managers who would have got relegated with this squad to be fair.

More impressed with Joe Williams playing so many minutes, and us actually managing a clean sheet than anything else. Madness!!

So does everyone like Pearson again now?

At first I thought I'd be pissed off. But then I realised it would be the most "us" thing ever.
Then I started to realise that we haven't actually been as high in the league as we were under LJ. To think, we were annoyed that we were knocking on the door of the playoffs but not getting in?!
Edit: to clarify, I definitely think it would be a super dumb idea

Very little room for us to climb the table under ANY manager with this squad and this budget (or lack thereof). Happy with Nige for now, has improved the setup of the club behind the scenes and increased the value of a few players.

This is why I come to this forum

Have just stuck a bet on them to go down, not even that great odds!
Looking at their fixtures just can't see where the next win would come from, and the squad they have is not really the sort of squad you want for a relegation scrap.

Was Williams trying to shoot? I've seen the replay and I literally don't understand what he wanted to do, looked like he was trying to clear it, at the wrong end of the pitch
Obviously pleased the luck went out way for once, especially so late in the game. But I think this is the most annoyed I've been after a win; our team is utterly baffling in its inconsistency.

No-one was thrown under the Bus, Bell was given a game in the wrong position. In a position he struggled in last time out , and while I think he's a decent player, he's not a WB/FB. I don't understand why you play a striker at FB when you have an experienced one on the books. I don't care if you think you made a mistake giving him a contract, just play round pegs in round holes FFS. Poor kid looked lost, just like he did last time, it's not fair on him.
If the team is firing, may be. But we're not, good players are struggling, so someone making his way in the game in an unknown position is bound to find it hard.I don't understand what Nige is trying to do today.
Agree entirely, it really winds me up. Pearson has talked plenty, particularly last season, about how the conditions have to be right to play youth players, and they should be able to play without pressure. Instead, he's now twice played a youth player out of position in a team that's not exactly a positive environment at the moment. We have Danny Simpson available, or just play Dasilva at RB? It's so bizarre.
Okay it worked with Alex Scott at RWB, but he's an outlier. And that also gives you another player we could have put there over Bell.

I've always been a fan of Pearson and his personality; especially at our club where it's been needed for a long time. I think I still trust him in the long term to be one of the best we could have picked for our rebuild; we just have to accept that it will be slow going, especially with the financial situation. The two windows he's had so far he's been pretty hand-tied and the main objective has been offloading; which he's started to do.
If we're still in this position this time next year then he'll have to go obviously; but I'd hope this summer will be very busy with both outs and ins.
On the other hand I am starting to worry that I like the idea of Pearson more than the reality of Pearson. There's a small part of me that wonders if he's simply past it?

Summer can't come soon enough.

Wonder if we'll see Williams as the "front sweeper" again or of it's something different?
-
Didn't watch the game but seen on Fotmob app we had an xG of 0.36; not great even away from home!
-
Good lineup, in theory. Would still take a point though if offered now!

Remember: performances over results. Good young team putting in a decent performance against a team higher than us in the league.
(Still ******* annoying though)

Still find Jay DaSilva's arc this season really weird. At the start of the season he seemed so definitely frozen out and is now playing most games. Funny how things go

I was very glad when I saw Scott starting deep and not Massengo. What an outstanding game Scott is having in that role.
His game-sense is ridiculous for someone his age. How do we have an 18yr old who is one of our best midfielders but who can also play RWB or CDM and do a good job of it and not look uncomfortable?!

Earlier this season there would have been no chance of us getting an equaliser in this kind of match. Changed mentality in the team.
And another goal involvement for Weimann

Interested to see how Pearson changes things up after HT. Has to do something

Anyone else keep getting confused between the young players' shirt numbers? 33,36,38 for Bell, Scott, Benarous
The grass isn’t always greener.

I'm sure becoming a Bristol legend seems great until someone actually offers you £50k a week.
