  1. Much bigger incentive for them (as should be for us) to play a beatable league two side for a shot at an FA Cup quarter final if Newport were to pull off a miracle later. And not to be a fun sponge, but give me £10 tickets and a bit of local needle over these boring Premier League frenzy fixtures any day. We’ve fallen at the fifth round hurdle a couple of times in recent years, IF we get there again I’d be desperate to see the excitement of being one match from Wembley. That for me becomes a proper cup run.
  2. If we get there, I just want a winnable tie. Not interested in a top 6 circus fixture. The Man City game was way less enjoyable than the cup run this season. Terrible atmosphere that evening too. Would love to see us get one game from Wembley. So Maidstone at home please. Going to be a huge task to get into the 5th round either way.
  3. Friday night games are brilliant for atmosphere. Should be a belter
  4. E34 was basically two to a seat at the front. We need an expanded standing area in the South Stand and probably a standing area in E34 too. These occurrences are getting more and more common. Growing fanbase means more wanting to get involved vocally too. E34 is in fairness only like this for the big games, but it's mad that the club continue to stifle S82 in the corner when demand is totally outweighing supply. Safety will inevitably come into it at some point.
  5. Just looked at our next 4 fixtures. Watford, Leeds, Boro and Southampton. It’s not impossible, in fact probably quite likely, that our season could be over by March AGAIN. I am reminded that the worst form of football is this. Nothing to play for, languishing deadness. And we’ve had it from Spring onwards for as long as we’ve been in the Championship, barring one or two limp play off pushes under LJ and one sort of relegation battle. It’s unbearably boring. I don’t care how this sounds, give me a fiery survival battle over stuck in the mud nothingness every single time. I’m done with this non-movement. We’re the most 14th position team in Europe. Probably the world. If we can’t string a serious run of wins together then let’s sell our best players this month for cheap in order to go on a big losing run and have a bit of danger to contend with come April. I want to feel something, that’s the ******* point of all this
  6. His name is on the wall. Tells you all you need to know. Thank you Andi
  7. I think he’s done that on purpose, which in fairness would be pretty funny.
  8. Fantastic atmosphere, was always going to be lively being Black Friday but felt like the players and crowd were feeding off each other last night. You can see the difference it makes on the pitch when it’s like that.
  9. Right now it feels like we have tried to skip 2 stages ahead of the process and enter into a phase that we just don’t have the group for, in doing so slowly eradicating what was in place, mostly out of necessity, to actually progress us. It’s an incredibly frustrating position to be in as a supporter. We have had worse periods on the pitch, but to see a project that the majority were united behind amateurishly ripped up, commencing another inevitable rebuild, with all the strings of another boardroom vanity project attached, is ******* disheartening.
  10. It is a becoming a bit of a mind numbing existence. Ashton Gate is so stale. I do wonder whether it will begin to impact crowds or ST retention.
  11. Would recommend the book ‘Here Comes Everybody’ by James Fearnley, the Pogues’ accordionist. Amazing insight to Shane as a person and the band, from the formation of the Nips (Fearnley was the guitarist) right up until the moment Shane was told he’d been kicked out of the Pogues in a hotel room in Japan.
  12. One the greatest we have ever had, and there will ever be again.

    New song

AI's effort. Particularly like the second half (Verse 1) In South Bristol's heartbeat, where the red and white unite, A taste of glory in every Clark's Pie bite. From Ashton Gate's roar to the Bedminster beat, Bristol City and Clark's Pies, a victory feast. (Chorus) Oh, Clark's Pies, in the City's embrace, Liam Manning's vision, the pride we chase. In the Robins' anthem, under Bristol's light, A symphony of triumph, in every bite. (Verse 2) Under Liam Manning's reign, where dreams take flight, Clark's Pies fuel the fire, as we aim for the height. From Southville streets to the Atyeo Stand's might, In every pastry, a story of the Bristol City fight. (Pre-Chorus) Through the North Street hustle and the Bedminster vibe, Liam's tactics, a winning tribe. In the Dolman's pride and the red and white, Clark's Pies and City, a duo so tight. (Chorus) Oh, Clark's Pies, in the City's embrace, Liam Manning's vision, the pride we chase. In the Robins' anthem, under Bristol's light, A symphony of triumph, in every bite. (Bridge) But across the city, where the blue and white lay, A different story unfolds, in a somber way. Bristols Rovers, in the shadows they dwell, Clark's Pies and City, a tale they never tell. (Verse 3) On the other side of the Avon's embrace, Rovers' hopes crumble, in their own disgrace. As Ashton Gate roars, and the Robins sing, Clark's Pies and City, in triumph, they bring. (Pre-Chorus) Through the East Street hustle and the Park Street climb, A City dream, in every rhyme. In the blue and red, where legends unite, Clark's Pies, a symbol of South Bristol's fight. (Chorus) Oh, Clark's Pies, in the City's embrace, Liam Manning's vision, the pride we chase. In the Robins' anthem, under Bristol's light, A symphony of triumph, in every bite. (Outro) So here's to the pies, in South Bristol's pride, In every Clark's Pie, a City tale resides. Under the Bristol City banner, shining bright, Clark's Pies and Liam's dream, a South Bristol delight.

    Attendance

Fwiw, I thought the noise and willingness to get behind the team today, will them over the line was better than it’s been in ages
  15. I don’t remember our away support being as consistent as it has been the last couple of seasons, selling out pretty much every away end as far as the Midlands, even Leeds this season. Does seem to be a nationwide trend when you look at some other average away attendances too. Most are up, we sell out probably 60-70% of places we go but are still bang average in terms of average away crowd size. Obviously geography related too but does seem to be something going on there. Still a post covid boom thing perhaps. Or young people with less to do now than 5-10 years ago with a decline in other events. Many staying at home longer with more disposable income for trains to Leeds and Leicester. What else you gonna do type thing.
  16. Unsuccessful on all front too. Believe there’ll be a resale but will be worse odds than Glastonbury I’d imagine.
  17. We did have a set of players willing to run through walls for their manger, a unit pulling in the same direction, a group who had bought into a culture, who were playing for the benefit of the collective and as a result could keep us competitive even in times of deep squad depletion. You'd like to think we still do, but when the driving force of that culture is no longer there, there are no guarantees. Already the negative reaction on here to a poor result is doubled compared to the grace ordinarily given to new coaches bedding in. But that's the reality those above will have to face having gambled on a change when things just, well, weren't that bad. Interesting times ahead.
  18. Excellent priorities. Pukka from what I remember.
  19. Seen Fury fight live twice on his come up. Was magic, like watching a world class middleweight perform at heavyweight. He is washed and if he doesn’t call it quits now he will just become the same sad story as many a great fighter. It had to catch up with him eventually
  20. And with a good rest of the season they won’t want to hang around there either.
  21. So there are City fans who were listening to the Gas go 2-0 up whilst watching us go 1-0 down at Cardiff… couldn’t write it
  22. Is there anyone else with as small a squad as ours and are they dealing with the same amount of injuries? Is it fair now that questions are asked given Holden, his physios and co were automatically assumed incompetent when similar numbers were being dealt with in the treatment room?
  23. Dolman A. Hear nothing but away fans
