If your in the Albion your probably on your Own , not the busiest ,

always thought it was a decent pub - residents of portishead obviously don’t

It gets busy regularly just everyone buggers off and besides they don’t stay open late. I normally start the night there

Plenty do this, accident waiting to happen!

That round about has plenty of issues. People don’t seem to give way to people coming from gordano. If your in the Albion all you hear all night is people beeping

Reckon it’s easier than the Albion as, apparently, a couple of WBA coaches were there for the cup game - missed seeing them as I was already in the Coopers!

Not at all just go in the wrong way off the round about easy as pie.

Not the workman's mate but have been known in the plough, poacher and spoons, don't know why they don't do the old mill as they have a huge car park as well

Can you seriously imagine a coach trying to get in and out off the old mill car park ?

I’m sure Portishead has about 15-20 drinking establishments now ,

quite often get some away fans in the spoons , and if memory serves me correctly Barnsley fans take 1 possibly 2 coaches to portishead been doing it for a while - possibly the workman’s ( not sure )

West Brom have used the poacher aswell as the Albion this season. I guess due to there big car parks for coaches

I am always amazed that nobody seems to be able to make a go of the Old Mill, lots of rooms, a nice but if outside space and a massive car park. The Plough is a weird old place, it's had two refurbs in the 11 years we have been here, at least this time I can see where some of the money has been spent.

I think the old mill is just a bad location if I’m honest a lot of people have failed with that pub so that tells you something. The latest refurb is nice it’s opened the pub up a lot and the outside area at the back is nice. The cheapest pub in Portishead with sports what’s not to like ??. Plough is my go to pub followed by the poacher for late night drink.

I love the Sirens Calling, great cider and ales at good prices in what should be a tourist spot, quite how the Ship, The Plough or even the Phoenix Bar keep going I am not sure.

Sirens calling not for me but if it’s your thing then fair shout. Ship not sure never go there. Plough is busy most of the time so not sure why you’re suprised like wise the phoenix although I refuse to go there. Think old mill will be next to go if any. Always looks dead in there !

The Star in Pill closed recently and I don't think the King's head is going to be far behind, I have heard rumours the Duke is in trouble as well, I'm afraid the golden age of pubs is behind us, I was lucky enough to have lived through the good times of the 70s and 80s I know there is the internet for meeting people but there is nothing better than meeting like-minded people in your local boozer I shudder to think how many of the pubs I used to go to are now no longer with us.

Was in the duke last Friday shutting in November. Also heard kings head is shutting too. Luckily living in Portishead we still have plenty of choice
