Yes,He was a lawyer, but he was also a political activist, it was for political activism that he was imprisoned, one can argue all night about whether his activism was expressed in the right way, but at the time he was imprisoned their was no way that coloured people in south africa could organise, or express their political opinion in a conventional way, but after his release the o rganisation that he was a member of was recognised as a legitimate political party, and as their leader he was elected as president, whatever his other attributes that makes him a politician in my book.

I don't agree with a minutes silence or applause for any politician ( unless they had had something to do with Bristol city ) I was strongly opposed to suggestions of a minutes silence for Thatcher and although in general my political sympathys lie far more with mandela than Thatcher, I think honouring politicians of any political persuasion is bound to cause division amongst our support, _ an haven't we got enough of that already ?

No apology from me ! I occasionaly watch hereford unites or cheltenham town in the same way as the kaiser watches reading, the difference is I don't spend a whole week on here telling every body that I'm going, and how I'm going to have a much better time than I do at city ! I don't then follow up the game with detailed analysis on the game leading to the conclusion that they would beat us by 6 goals ! if ciy were at home and so were reading and I had the option to go to either game and chose reading then I should be considered to be a reading fan ,!

I despise the board and their lackeys who are running my club into the ground, I support sod and my support does not vanish when we loose a couole of games, what's hypocritical about tbat ? The point I was trying to make is that this forum is a unhappy place a because people have totally lost faith in the board, b opinions on sod have almost been forced to two extremes ! I should also have afdeded that this forum is dominated by bullys and braggarts, which is not likely to make it a happy place !

This is forum is usually a unhappy place ! I think this is because many people have absolutely nofaith or confidence in the people who run our club,they make mistake after mistake,and seem to take pleasure in taking as much enjoyment away from the supporters as possible yet some gullible souls trot along to their pointless meetings and believe their meaningless promises that are usually broken as soon as they are made, leading to another meeting and on and on it goes! with the board continuing to do exactly what they want, but giving the gullible the impression that they have been consulted ! on the sod situation, I want any City manager to do well ,because if the manager is doing well then so are the team, but I appreciate that it isa results business and results are the paramount thing for most supporters, I was firmly on the middle ground regarding sod, until this board began to get flooded with messages from the loathsome person who calls himself bristol city and others, who have no objectivity just a twisted personal hatred of sod and a obsession with hounding him out of his job,they also made llittle attempt to hide their glee at our poor results! the anti sod movement reached it's zenith when the ridiculous .ashton kate. made a fool of herself and went on local TV to grandly announce that she was with drawing her support and boycotting the club until the manager was removed! ( talk about over estimating your own importance ,! ) I just think that this board attracts to a e great extent ( with some exceptions ) the extreme pro and the extreme negative among citys support !

Good first half, not so good second half, away point at a ground where we rarely get anything and unbeaten in 5 oth we only drew a game we were entitled to win and weve now got 0 wins in z1 game! so I'm sure that will give the sod outers some heart !
