  1. Could copy and paste that on to the OTIB match day thread after 5 minutes.
  2. Ah I see, so by your logic the goal records set by Australia v American Samoa (31-0) must make the men's football look sub standard?
  3. Is that Matt Hale? Thought it was Hulbert. That's age and eyesight for you.
  4. Love that kit in that article. Although Robin Hulbert looks like he could've done with a bigger size ?
  5. Boris's incompetence continues. So under the new rules of wearing a mask on the train and in shops works like this. I've got COVID, catch a train (masked) to a busy restaurant, (don't wear a mask when I walk in, to/from the toilet etc and when leaving). Catch the next train (masked) and head to the busy pub. Spend a few hours in the pub moving around speaking to people, un-masked) then he'd to a club for more socialising (again un-masked). Lucky for everyone COVID is only dangerous on trains and in shops. Appreciate masks aren't full proof but they do their bit to reduce the risks. This new rule has been badly thought out and no doubt won't be implemented or policed properly.
  6. 'Lansdown hand his dusty wallet to Pearson' classic arrogant and disrespectful post. Lack of any concept of the financial differences between the 2 sports and in particular the financial constraints this football club are in. Do some research. Close thread mods.
  7. Luxury players always play I they put in a shift. They're not and they're not missed. The sooner they're off the wage bill the better for them and us. I'd feel ashamed if I watched the performances/attitudes of Scott and Benarous and thought about their passion and how much they're paid and then looked in the mirror.
  8. To be honest my comment of the photo was a bit tongue in cheek because it looked like people were just stood enjoying the atmosphere in the fan area rather than queuing/being checked but appreciate your view of what you saw.
  9. I'll raise you there. I think players diving, rolling around on the floor and feigning injury to influence the ref is a greater transgression that goes unpunished! ?
  10. Just hope they both have agents that don't suddenly start seeing £ signs.
  11. Agreed. Appreciate most of the time the decision is in the player (and agents) hands but hopefully we can keep hold of then both for years to come.
  12. Anyone else think the club has uncovered the next 2 assets that can be sold for big money to reinvest in the team? Hope they both stay for a long time and we can build around them. Also what a boost it must be to the other youngsters.
  13. You should write headlines for the Daily Mail.
  14. I wonder if we'd have even got a point if Nigel hadn't returned. I had us down as another loss today so happy with a point under the circumstances.
  15. Who is going to give us good (or any) money for Palmer and Wells AND take on their wages? ?
  16. Unfortunately not enough to make me feel safer about our season.
  17. I wonder if they have any legal case to pursue? They must have lost earnings by dropping to L1 even if they do come straight back up.
  18. What a farce to draw this out. Feel so sorry for Wycombe.
  19. He'd definately be a candidate for Manager of the season if he can. Unfortunately I don't think he'll be able too but that's why I think its a good bit of planning for next season too.
  20. Great appointments for Norwich. They'll go down this season but will have a great team with lots of experience to go back up next season. Good forward planning.
  21. Just watched it and really enjoyed it. I can echo some of the comments about Savage but actually he came across quite passionately about it and why not. By the end I didn't mind him. Although, yeah as others have said, it was interesting to see where he crossed the DoF/ Manager line by getting involved from the side of the pitch. You only get a small glimpse of the blood, sweat and tears to get that club back up and running from scratch but what a different it made to the community. Definately recommend it. And Jimbo - SL get your cheque book out. ?

Hampshire Reds, is this your 3rd Otib account? ?
  23. No ones going to buy the ones we're willing to sell (possibly due to wage demands, how attractive they look to other teams given our current situation and the view mention about the state of the transfer market) and the players themselves would be in a better position to let their contracts run down (assuming we don't offer them deals). I think most if not all of those we don't want to keep will leve for nothing.

It's a fair point. We'll ignore the form then. Playoffs here we come. Edit: just to qualify my point (which I know you got), when you combine the picture of the form table, together with the quality of performances on the pitch, likely damage to the moral given the nature of the recent defeats, impact of the reduction in coaches plus now the manager out for an unknown period of time. To me, it only feels like the gap to the playoffs is heading in one direction. I admire your optimism though.

Firstly, priority here (as I've said all along) is Nigel's health. I think it's good the club haven't put any timescales/pressure on Nigel (publicly) to return. Get well soon Nigel and whatever decision you make has to be right for you and your family. From a business/club perspective though and at a time when we need some strong, confident leadership (and clear communication), it just feels like more uncertainty- left in limbo. I'm sure there's lots going on behind the scenes but outwardly it feels like the opposite. This form table highlights the crisis we're in and it doesn't get any worse than this. Plus when you factor in the reduced coaching team, I cannot see how this is going to improve whilst Nigel is out. The players maybe playoff quality on paper, but names on paper is completely irrelevant compared to the reality we're in.
