  1. That's pretty much whatt they did. God no- far too depressing.
  2. No, season ticket holders from other sections (like me) were able to swap for a South Stand ticket. I was actually able to do that for the Blackpool game as well and will probably do the same on Saturday.
  3. You were probably counting the ones locked out, common mistake.
  4. Well yes and it's pretty much what my post said, it doesn't matter who you support, c****s are c***s. I was pointing out however, that despite all the accusations thrown at Rovers regarding 1982, some of your own fans own behaviour was despicable. So possibly a bit of whatabouterry on my part Bollocks do they. No one club is any better than another.
  5. Some of whom no doubt, still watch City and applaud the buy into the reinvented myth of the Ashton Gate 8, conveniently forgetting that they issued death threats to several genuine City legends. You don't have to be a Rovers fan , a City fan or whatever to be a ****. This thread has been known to push the boundaries of pisstake , lets not forget just how despicably some of your own fans behaved in 1982.
  6. Time has certainly warped opinions on that. City's demise was all of their own doing. I'm glad to see the Ashton Gate 8 being treated better than they were btw, by both your club and fans.
  7. I think a lot of people transferred to the South to escape the rain. It didn't work though, I was in Row G and got soaked, it was a grim old night in more ways than one .
  8. Damn- sussed! My guess would have been 7500- with the South Stand approximately 75 % full
  9. I hadn't heard any of this, but just caught a bit of what is being said on the forums, I have no idea if there is any truth in it. However, I know a few of you aren't happy with Lansdown and am more than happy to swap.
  10. Same as any other club really. Couple of wins, everyone bangs on about promotion, couple of defeats, everyone wants the manager sacked. Last night, the first half was grim as was Saturday, but December- and away to Norwich and Barnsley this month there were impressive performances. Could we be dragged into a relegation battle? Absolutely, Exeter outclassed us in the first half last night. Will we get pulled into it? I don't think so, lower mid table is my guess.
  11. Between 9 and 10,000 . Guaranteed
  12. Of all the new grounds (I've yet to visit Spurs, Brentford & Wimbledon) it is the only one I've thought didn't look like it had come out of a StadiumsRuS catalogue. Very impressive.
  13. I suspect this is the case. As it stands, there is not enough room to build a cantilever stand at that end of the ground.
  14. I'd have got a more straight forward answer from Boris Johnson
  15. Actually- I take that back- although the Eastend question still stands
  16. Why is the old Eastend called the South Stand, surely that's the north of the ground? And why was it called the Eastend!
  17. I've a hotel room in Liverpool going cheap if anyone is interested?
  18. I'll give you that, we have a chance obviously, but no more than that, its more than possible that it could be over by half time. Fair play to you ******* last night, totally deserved. Even wth a tenner on you at 3/1, I still couldn't bring myself to raise a smile though.
  19. Welcome to the world of running a small business.
  20. Thank you! I did think the same when I read the original post tbf, but couldn't be arsed to comment. The Jerk King is great food , the more clubs that do this the better , football food does not have to be shite.
  21. I think you may be reading far, far too much into poor journalism.
  22. Go on then, show some evidence I suspect he had better things to do that showing Rovers in a good light and City in a bad one. Chris Swift reported on Rovers back in the day, a Kidderminster fan, but, as you would expect for someone who went all over the country covering matches for a team, he became a bit of a fan, whoever was covering City at the time, no doubt was the same. When I was growing up, Robin Perry covered Rovers and Peter Godsiff covered City and one would assume they both wanted their respective teams to do well and that may have been reflected in their journalism, and that doesn't necessarily that they were constantly waving the flag, just that they cared about their teams. Anyway , as a sizeable business within Bristol there must have been at least a few City fans working there to counteract any bias, I mean, I know we've got more fans than you and all that.....
  23. I saw an older chap have a heart attack at Twerton, we were shouting for the paramedics while the game went on, he survived and became a good friend who became part of our little home gang when we moved to the Mem, he lived to a ripe old age and we regularly gave stick to about making us miss a part of a game when he had his heart attack. We loved him dearly and I never thought I would be so upset over the death of an 89 year old man I wasn't related to. Yes, it wasn't good to see a man have a heart attack, but it happens. If I died at a game , there is no way on earth I would want it stopped, unless we were losing of course In fact I've just changed my mind, I want to die at Ashton Gate while we are losing to you with 5 minutes left, ideally just after I hear the 'match abandoned' announcement over the PA system
