  1. I was at that one. Saw the Smiths somewhere in Bath, cant remember where, it wasn't the Pavilion though (Saw Madness there as well) UB40 and John Cooper Clarke at St Mathias College in Fishponds, U2 at the Locarno. Saw loads at the Colston Hall like The Clash, AC/DC, but that was considered a big venue back then. I didn't see them but I'm pretty sure Adam and the Ants and Siouxsie and the Banshees played Barton Hill youth club. I was always impressed that my sister saw Bowie on the Ziggy tour at Taunton! I saw him when he was in Graduate.
  2. I'm not on it, but it does seem a major talking point on here I mean, it's a piss take thread so fair enough, but although there was a time when I took it all far too seriously, but I am way past worrying about what goes on behind the scenes at a football club.
  3. Panic? I think you take this football lark too seriously
  4. Bearing in mind what he said, I was quite pleased.
  5. I was at the game- it was absolutely stonewall
  6. Staggering isn't it. Anyway, I'm just about to lump a grand on the Gas to win the league this year. We're coming for you.
  7. Jesus, well at least he didn't mention that he played for us! Still, every day's a school day, who knew I had been pronouncing belligerent wrong all these years.
  8. TBF, the analogy was clumsy at best, and I'd argue about which of the 4 was the best of a bad bunch, but I wouldn't disagree with his main point. It's certainly a million times better than Watchgate or Tategate.
  9. 'A considerable amount', so just some then.
  10. I had heard that. I'm going to try and be balanced about this. I haven't listened to the entire interview, so maybe I shouldn't be too judgmental, but normally after hearing Tate talk for 30 seconds I feel the neeed to shout 'What a ***' very loudly. Deeply depressing stuff that there are people who give the utter *** the time of day.
  11. One can only imagine what those players would have gone through had social media been around at the time. If those individuals are still around I hope they are now ashamed of their actions. It happened at City, but it could have been at any club. There has been a fair bit of questioning of morals on this thread lately, but c***Ts are c***ts , no matter what team they support. Anyway! I remember at the time thinking I didn't want you to go out of business and was looking forward to lording over you for the rest of my life. It hasn't quite gone the way I was hoping!
  12. Yet we are still everyone's favourite second team
  13. The players were given a fait accompli and were treated terribly- including by some City fans, don't take my word for it, ask people like Geoff Merrick, an absolute legend for your club There does seem to be a bit of a rewrite of history going on now, but at least the players are now being acknowledged.
  14. I remember that it was under 30k we took that day. The occasion we took- I think it was 43k, but certainly over 40- was the 2007 play off v Shrewsbury. We were given extra tickets once Shrewsbury returned some of their allocation. It was actually widely reported at the time- by proper media outlets as well that it was the biggest following of any club at Wembley ( stop sniggering at the back) , the reason being obviously because of the extra allocation given. I'm reasonably confident in saying that this record was broken , when Millwall were given something like 48k for a game against Wigan (FA Cup semi maybe?). So yes, we really did take over 40k fans to Wembley once. I have no figures on how many were locked outside though
  15. I'm refusing to watch it , it'll only raise my blood pressure.
  16. I really don't know and it really doesn't matter. I mean we could open up a debate on whether rhetorical questions should have a question mark or not, but I think it was pretty clear from my post, that the questions were rhetorical.
  17. We clearly had different English teachers, I have never heard of a rhetorical question not requiring a question mark. A quick Google check suggests they do. If, however, we have any experts in the subject on here who can confirm that one way or the other,I am more than happy to apologise for my ignorance
  18. Okay, here's a question for you. Do you know what rhetorical means?
  19. Where did I expect people to answer them?
  20. Not really no, I have enough opinions about the real world that upset people, I don't need to add to them I am serious btw, when I get asked hypothetical questions I tend to answer with 'Ask me when it happens'
  21. I'm not hiding behind anything, it's hypothetical, it means absolutely nothing.
  22. Pretty meaningless thing to say when you know it's not going to happen though isn't it.
