  1. If he did have any, he never told me. Feary was City through and through and would have done anything he could to help the club. He was offered a place on the board at one time and I know he found it really tough turning it down, but with the existing commitments he had, he wouldn't be able to give his all to the role.
  2. That may have been the game we played there after the original match was called off around 1/2 hour before kick off. I went on one of the 3 supporters coach for the rearranged game, which managed to crash into each other on the M5. Believe it or not, we got ourselves off the motorway and flagged down a coach to see if he could help us. One well known rovers fand 'happened' to have a large amount of cash on him and got us a coach and 2 buses to take us the rest of the way. there was another crash on the M6 and we didn't get to Springfield park until half time and they initially refused to let us in. |they relented and we, obviously, got dicked 3-0 or 3-1. Anyway, that's my excuse for them not opening the grass bank because not enough of us were there
  3. The company I worked for at the time supplied the lights. Dave Fear - who installed them- was at the game and had to get his hands dirty trying to get them on again
  4. There were a few residents who used to go in there, Denis and Steve the punk I particularly remember. I used to go there from around 1981 to 1990.
  5. While I obviously want to see Rovers be as successful as possible, I long, long, long ago stopped worrying about the behind the scenes stuff. I like being able to stand up at The Mem, I like our ground being near Gloucester Road and I like that- at the moment- we are a relatively entertaining side to watch. I'm sure many will cry 'typical lack of ambition' but football is nowhere near as important to me as it was years ago, having a good day out is my priority
  6. When I first started watching Rovers , we had an away kit of red and white stripes. The obsession with kits and their colours is a relatively new thing. I say relatively, it maybe because I'm so bleedin old.
  7. I used to drink in there every night of the week, back when Pam had it. Met my wife in there!
  8. The fruit market is north of the river-just.
  9. He is unhinged. I remember him getting kicked out at Totton in the FA Cup, then climbing over the wall to get in the home end. Iron Acton lad.
  10. I heard a story about this on the radio years back. Apparently someone came up with the headline a few years before the actual game, they were just waiting for Caley to beat- ideally - Celtic or Rangers.
  11. No way is that 'Better Off Alone', really?
  12. Well whatever it is, it's gone right over my head.
  13. I will have to admit, I have no idea what this is about? Am I missing some kind of pop culture reference/parody in this? As the great Alan Partridge would say 'That was just noise'
  14. Well lavatory paper is rather expensive these days.
  15. That's probably because I've never done a days hard graft in my life That really is me btw, 60 years old next year and still so youthful ! I may have neglected to mention, that I was working in Wrexham on Tuesday and was after a ticket for their sell out game v Chesterfield
  16. Just to let you know I walked around the ground on Tuesday with this and managed to get in. Big thanks to Mike who gave me the ticket, £20 as well ( he did only want a tenner).Really enjoyed the game and a great atmosphere.
  17. I will be visiting Ashton Gate in March for a work event. It will be my first visit since the revamp. I may try and nick it.
  18. We have roofs! They just may be made of slightly different material to yours.
