Without wishing to give them any ideas regarding the site for a new ground, it's always amazed me that nobody's thought to build a new stadium at Ashton Vale.

Might tempt DC to stay too with all those dog walkers in the vicinity.  Genius.

Me and a friend (a sag) unfortunately.... bumped into Steve Landsdown, he explained he didn't understand how rovers fans with such little investment in their club in the past years still love their club and manager more than city fans appear to when he has poured millions and millions in and still they do not love him. on another note, dont get to happy about stadiums, Brentford and Burton both have rubbish stadiums yet still on paper and last year on evidence are a better team than us!

Thanks for signing up especially to share your story.

  3. UWE seem to be setting fire to the Rovers' hierarchy in prep for legal proceedings.  Seems to suggest that the rest of Chris Brown's info may also be correct, the Al Qadi money appears to know longer be forthcoming whatever deal is placed on the table?

Above is guesswork but makes some sense.

Your guess is genuinely as good as mine. We could be up a certain creek without a paddle, who knows? Again, something we were potentially up with Mr Higgs also.

That is true, however I'm starting to believe that Higgs played a blinder on his sales pitch to Wael.

The first source was Chris Brown, the author of the book "Bovver" who posted it on a Bristol Rovers Facebook group. To which other accounts, such as the twitter ones mentioned, dived on as quickly as possible.

Was it not also Chris Brown that stated Hami has not transferred money to run the club and there are currently outstanding bills from March with Solicitors letters being served?

Whats the deal with the £10m revolving credit secured on the mem by Dwane Sports showing as a loan to Bristol Rovers?  Where's that money gone?

Surely even he has more class than to walk out on them today..!

I think he's shown a lot of loyalty and let's be fair, worked miracles.  If he's been duped into the 5 year contract then I don't think he owes them a single thing .

  7. Wael's 'keep calm' thing on instagram was pretty ropey as it was only about 15 mins before the announcement.  I wonder if all the other rumours put up by the same guy are also true?

There had been rumours they hadn't paid for the fence around the training ground site recently too I believe?

Not one to usually bother with their forum but I saw a few whispers on Twitter about very bad news coming out about Rovers over the next few days. Had a look on their forum and someone else posting the same. No idea what they're referring to but it almost seems bigger than the stadium.

Sad news, Kleneze are taking them to court for non payment of their shake 'n vac bill from the Mem renovations by the looks of it.

437 pages and counting,a massive thread about my club bristol rovers!

What a funny backhanded compliment that is,with no equivalent on the gaschat rovers forum and when i quickly looked on forums of other local rivals like liverpool/everton i simply couldnt find anything quite like this.

" only one team in bristol"   except we like to talk non stop everyday about bristol rovers and we read their forum and quote it word for word on here almost as if there were in fact 2 teams in bristol, weird!!

Some post about rovers virtually everyday on here it seems?

Maybe its the relegation haunted faces you clearly see on you city fans faces  as you prepare for yet another battle against the drop despite spending god only knows how much money on under performing players or perhaps its the spectre of bristol rovers amazing progress under darrell clarke that has brought this rovers obsessed forum to produce this strange thread?

Not sure, you tell me but its hilarious so please keep on posting and thanks for the interest in my wonderful club.

I am told that Bristol Rovers is indeed up for sale and the owners expect to recoup the circa £10 million which they have loaned the club.

But who would pay £10 million for a business losing about £1.5 million per year with an asset which cannot be sold without making it homeless and consequently sending those losses catastrophically higher ?

The Jordanian takeover may turn out to have been a cock-up of biblical proportions.

If true I hope there won't be too much gloating on here, football deserves better.

    Thanks for the information RedRum.

I make that 21700 x £6.49 which is £140,833.00 and well within budget for the UWE Stadium .

Unfortunately tents have gone up but as soon as knickers come down it will be all cisterns go.

I'm on commission.  Just on the off chance can you mention a monorail to Wael?  SL has stopped returning my calls and I preordered so the rolling stock is currently sat in Frenchay costing me a packet.  Ta

In the Net produced a nice touch of the traditional Rovers sense of humour which is almost extinct now.

I frequent OTIB because of the hilarity of posters poking fun at the absurdities which come out of The Mem and which have hardly dried up since Nicholas left. We keep scoring the own goals so it's not surprising City fans make the most of it. This light hearted mirth is what football rivalry should be about but sadly the "banter" coming the other way is too often tinged with resentment. Even today there is a gaschat post encouraging fans to boycott Argos because they have been taken over by Sainsburys but thankfully sensible posters are discouraging such nonsense.

How we got to this point is hard to say because in the days of "Ashton Alf" and "Eastville Ern" Rovers fans had a distinctive character which certainly did not include boastfulness, exaggeration or the type of paranoiac blind faith we see today.,

You'd be mad to boycott argos...

    £6.49 per seat, bargain!

I'll stop taking the piss when they stop doing stupidly ridiculous things.

It was more a comment on basing our view of ourselves on being better than the Rovers then we're never going to get anywhere as we've set the base line pretty low.

    Time to start aiming higher.
