Bristol City v Swansea City Match Day 5
ExiledAjax replied to havanatopia's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
For the love of God can they please start listing the team in formation order. This isnt even pure number order anymore. Maenpaa should be last on the list according to their system. It's petty and I know there are bigger issues in the world but it ******* winds me right up.- 538 replies

And the fewest fouls - because you never tackle. Biggest concern is probably finishing, and the seemingly soft underbelly. At the moment we have averaged 5 shots on target per game, 7th in that particular table...yet we've scored only 3 goals. Looking generally at the stats we are well up there in terms of passing, crosses, long balls etc, everything you'd expect from averaging just shy of 60% possession - and yet we've not managed to win yet. For me this says one of two things. Either 1) we shouldn't worry as it is clear that beneath the results there is an ability to play good football, we just aren't getting the breaks, or 2) that is all well and good but we still need to score more goals than the opposition. I remember after the last game a lot of people complaining off, to paraphrase, "Ineffective pseudo tiki-taka". Well the stats certainly bear things out. Personally I am going to try to be optimistic, but without an out and out finisher (aka Tammy - is Fammy such a player?) it looks as though we may be in for a rough ride. -

Heading over after work today. For the first time in a while I'm not that excited. I hope we see a more coherent team than we did against Boro, but I expect we won't. I think for the third time in as many seasons we will leave Loftus Road with a sense of an opportunity missed. -

If the last few games are anything to go by (they're not but it's sort of interesting) then there will be a few goals tonight. We've not had a 0-0 with Derby since 1994. 15 Dec 2015 Derby County v Bristol City L 4-0 League Championship 19 Apr 2016 Bristol City v Derby County L 2-3 League Championship 17 Sep 2016 Bristol City v Derby County D 1-1 League Championship 11 Feb 2017 Derby County v Bristol City D 3-3 League Championship 16 Sep 2017 Bristol City v Derby County W 4-1 League Championship

Yeh I'd expect Pack to sit deepest of the three. Reckon they'l be fairly fluid though, Smith is capable of going forward, and Pack will take on a shot from the edge of the box if called upon. Early days for Walsh but he did have that one little foray into the Man City box didn't he. I'd hope to see them passing and moving, advancing and covering for each other and all the while allowing Brownhill and Pato to help Reid out. Also, how nice is it to see Bryan back at LB, and to know that in Mags there's more than capable cover on the bench if needed.
