  1.

I've subscribed to the British Newspaper Archive and found this:

Dundee Evening Telegraph Monday 20 April 1908

    Bristol City v. Sunderland

    English League – First Divsion

Played at Bristol this afternoon in brilliant weather. The great game was watched by fully 18,000. The opening stages were all in favour of the homesters, for whom Nixon did some brilliant work. After thirteen minutes Burton, following good work by Maxwell, opened the scoring. Sunderland then improved their play, but failed to score. Gilligan improved the City’s lead with a hot shot.  Interval :- Bristol City 2 ; Sunderland 0.

In the second half Sunderland were without Hogg. They played excellent football, however, but did not shoot accurately. After thirty five minutes of this moiety Maxwell was responsible for putting Bristol ahead with a glorious shot, with which Roose had no chance. An exciting game resulted in an excellent win for Bristol who have now practically saved themselves from entering the Second Division

    BRISTOL CITY 3

    SUNDERLAND 0

  2. I made the mistake of reading one of their articles.

Headline - "Bristol City supporter banned..........."

Content - Two Bristol Rovers supporters banned, one Bristol City supporter banned (and one Bournemouth fan)

I was not able to find reference to this article in the Rovers section of the site., It is currently the top article in the City section.

    Bias or what?

  3. Just  a coincidence, but I was listening to King Crimson today and heard this:

    Your admirers on the street
Got to hoot and stamp their feet
In the heat from your physique
As you twinkle by mocassin sneakers
And I thought my heart would break
When you doubled up the stake
With your fingers all a shake
You could never tell a winner from a snake

    (Easy Money)

Didn't someone say our neighbours are looking for a new song?

  4. This is from Adam Baker's interview with Jon Lansdown, published on the Official Website 10/6/13

    "Player Recruitment and Talent Identification

Revealed by the club’s majority shareholder Steve Lansdown in January, the club has taken a major change in direction with regards to its policy on recruitment.

The club aims to sign players aged 24 and under more often than not, with older recruits becoming an exception, rather than the norm. The club is also building up a database of young players in all positions to aid in talent identification."
