Hayles, Stewart, Ellington and Martyn left over a period of time for a combined total of £5.4m.....which back then was a huge amount of money.

The big question is......where did a lot of that money disappear to?

All joking aside (for now), you're absolutely right. Don't forget the £1m they also got for Lambert. Even the Rovers fans themselves have no idea where any of it ended up...

Just had a quick browse of their forum. They are getting the wind up on all fronts. The comments from Hamer in the supposed email reply seem quite damming of employees and departed staff. It's getting uncomfortably hot at the Minimal. Shall we have a whip round?

    Umm...no!

Here's a simple question for them to put to the Rovers' Chairman:

"When do you expect the £10m secured loan facility upon the Memorial Ground to be fully drawn and how will you fund the club's operating loss and the payment of interest upon that drawn loan thereafter?".

    It's a simple question.

Very concisely put, and possibly one for Twentyman to broach next time he invites Hamer or Wally onto his show (not that I expect either to answer with any honesty or clarity).

I'd also laugh if they emulated their performance away at the Cobblers in the 1998 play offs - after a 3-1 home victory in the first leg, the gas were spouting off about a play off final appearance being a formality - it was rumoured they even pre-booked the coaches to Wembly....then three days later they lost the second leg 3-0 at Northampton to go tumbling out! Happy Days!

    Corrected that for you

Spot on. They had been so envious of our stint in the top flight that our plummet towards being extinguished was met with absolute glee by the other club in the City. To say they were "over the moon" was an understatement and they so desperately wanted Ashton Gate. They never once stepped in to help us out, so **** the lot of them. They haven't changed either, they still can't handle the very mention of our name without going into total meltdown. The sooner they are gone for good the better.

Just be grateful the internet hadn't been invented in the run up to '82. The size of this thread would pale into insignificance...

Bet they are all salivating over "world class stadium". How the **** are you going to get one of those in there? Why not just say modern stadium, got to over sell it as usual and end up looking more and more stupid.

    Corrected that for you

What was the Feng Shui one?

When they moved to the Mem they hired an 'expert' to improve the Feng Shui layout of the ground and improve their luck. From memory, all they did was place a goldfish bowl in one of the goal nets for a couple of weeks

  8. Unfortunately, I think Pembos departure was an act of cowardly desperation from those truly in fear of their roles at AG at the moment. If LJ gets the boot now, who is there realistically to take over in the interim? An assistant coach who appears to be at the centre of our downfall, or another one who has only been in the job for a day?

Good luck Pembo- thank you for being you. You won't be forgotten. #doublewinner

Too wide a range to guess. However, Sainsburys almost certainly won't be getting every single penny spent on their defence back. What will happen now is the parties will to and fro about the costs incurred and agree a proportion for which Rovers are liable, or go to a costs hearing. Rovers may have taken (very expensive) insurance out againsts costs too .

Why on earth would they have even considered this when the contract was deemed so "watertight"...

Apparantly Wael has been in Switzerland this week as part of the team supporting the candidacy of Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa in his attempt to win the vote for FIFA presidency. Wael, that was in vain.

Prince Ali got 4 votes. Apparently, Wally is requesting a recount on the grounds that 'thousands' of voters were locked out and were therefore unable to cast their votes...

My suggestion is the shout from Clem when the Sags were away at Forest Green "Rovers fans singing their anthem....Come On Eileen" and it could start with Come On Eileen playing and have the video of them singing the gas are staying up at Wycombe followed by them storming the pitch when relegated out of the football league, Jeff Stelling announcing that they are gone after 92 years, some news headlines about horse punching, attacking their own stewards, racist abuse, and their fans trying to fight with opposition players because they think they are too big for non-league football? How about a montage of all the goals they conceeded to some right tin-pot outfits?

Don't forget the references to the Thatcher years, dogs dying, etc :-)
