In honour of his consistent dedication to brightening up the close season and providing us all with great entertainment, can we rename this thread the 'PhilGas Q & A' thread?

I feel that us extending the olive branch to him in this way will ease his transition to being a 'gurt ted', which we can all see is only a short matter of time away. We will then surely be treated to further curious trips through the confusing corridors of this martial arts expert's mind. His asking questions and providing answers to our questions (and sometimes his own when he has a quiet night at work) has cheered us all up a lot I know so I feel we need to recognise his contributions.

    Always look on the BrightCiderLife

Ah I thought that Phil is a Marital Arts expert which is why he works night's. ;)

I really wish we were as busy as them. I mean putting the finishing touches in to a new 12k seater stand really is small fry compared to putting up a new tent.

    ... but that's what Bedouins,do. From Wiki:

Today Bedouins make up from 33% to 40% of the population of Jordan. Often they are referred to as a backbone of the Kingdom, since Bedouin clans traditionally support the monarchy.

Most of Jordan’s Bedouin live in the vast wasteland that extends east from the Desert Highway. The eastern Bedouin are camel breeders and herders, while the western Bedouin herd sheep and goats. Some Bedouin in Jordan are semi-nomads, they adopt a nomadic existence during part of the year but return to their lands and homes in time to practice agriculture..

Many people think that June and July are quiet months at football clubs but that is not the case here at Bristol Rovers.

Not only have the club been working hard trying to strengthen the playing squad for the upcoming 2016/17 League One campaign but significant developments are also being made away from Darrell Clarke’s playing squad.

The Memorial Stadium is undergoing a makeover.

Rovers South Stand is going to be re-clad and completely refurbished along with an entire set of new cheap, white plastic patio seats.

Along with the enhancements of the South Stand, we are delighted to announce that we will be re-introducing the South West Stand, which will hopefully increase our total capacity.

Last night i was fortunate enough to break bread with the patriarch of the Al-Qadi family, Eamon Al-Qadi, and he was very upbeat about the UWE Stadium. Although he has never actually been to South Gloucestershire he could describe the development in perfect detail.  One may imagine his serene figure standing imperiously on platform 2 of Bristol Parkway station and gazing across over Harry Stoke towards Cheswick village. On the horizon he pictures a lagoon of crystal clear water surrounded by rich tropical vegetation, fringed by a crescent of elegant palms and a jogging track.

    No car park, Bert?

The players are not likely to be in the loop re. what the current situation is, as they are/have been on holiday/stag dos at the moment.

Having said that, I'll believe it when I'm sat in my seat at UWE.

The question may have been asked during contract negotiations and there have been plenty of those to be had. We fans all believe that stadia are just one of the influencing factors for players.

Looks like the new stadium for the lock-out lads might take a bit longer than expected.

Rumours that Wally is looked at tarting up the Mem as the offers to finance the new build aren't as plentiful as hoped. And for a billionaire he doesn't seem to want to pay for it himself. Which if this was the great investment you'd think he would be all over it. Maybe this explains the lack of investors interested.....

Will nobody think of the UWE car park?
