    Ouch.

Quite the tough start for Beale that..could be toxic?? Not a wildly popular appointment with Sunderland fans.

Hugely overrated manager, always thought he was a bit of a turncoat for the way he walked out on QPR too.

No- it's quite random really. Some I do and some I don't. Some I already know exactly what position they're going to take in the same way any regular poster would know I'm not going to join in with the anti Lansdown lobby. It's like an expected poster response ratio.

But if someone makes only very few posts over almost 5 months all saying the same thing i.e. Get out Lansdown or (I quote) "Pi55 off Lansdown" then , and you can call me cynical , I feel it's an agenda driven narrative in the absence of  posts about other matters.

As for putting people on "ignore" ( as suggested by @REDOXO) - I find it genuinely funny that an anonymous poster puts another anonymous poster on "ignore"- often anonymously. That is the ultimate sign of taking things too seriously and being in need of a break!  If someone doesn't agree then challenge their view and/or move on.

This is an anonymous football forum where the lines between truth and fiction are constantly merged.

    See above reply.

I simply can't be arsed to post regularly unless its something I really feel like saying. I think I've been on the forum for about 20 years and posted I'm guessing less than 1,000 times. Funnily I've got other interests apart from City and OTIB so I'm not on here all the time, and I'm not sure what effect my perceived 'agenda' on an online forum is going to change.

Recently the running of the club has really boiled my piss so I've chosen to vent about it on here a few times. Sorry if it bothers you!

Snooping? I think of it as clarifying a position or agenda. Of course it's not all daisies etc but nor is it all doom and gloom. If a poster's every comment is deeply critical/negative/rude since August then it's pretty obvious that someone has an agenda but you know this.

It takes about 3-4 minutes and is fascinating to see where someone's coming from. What is tragic is that there are those who have absolutely nothing but bile to post about the Lansdowns and Tinnion .

Personally I support Brian and the Lansdowns which is completely contrary to the majority narrative on OTIB. I will continue to do so for as long as I believe they are doing the right thing at the club and you will continue to find my views offensive to your own.

No agenda here, just venting my frustration at what I believe to be poor management from our owner and board. The Pearson sacking and handling of it has made me more angry than even the appointment of Dean Holden. It's my view that they don't really know how to run our football club and we won't ever achieve promotion to the PL under their ownership, and it's high time they moved on and let someone else have a go.

Opinion or agenda? Up to you how you interpret that.

You'll always get an audience when it come sto me . Well done. Take the like you seek.

I didn't mention you not being a City fan.

You did- you said you wouldn't support our club anymore. Once because of some insane rumour about LJ and then because NP got sacked. But , hey, thinking about it then I guess someone who threatens that they wont support their club because of who might become Manager is probably pretty fairweather and unlikely to support the club unless it's going to your expectations.

Yeah, 33 years now as a fan - it's been non-stop success in that time hasn't it. I grew up outside of Bristol, surrounded by PL fans and no City fans at school/uni/work but I still supported my team. As I've become older I've lost patience with the years of crap decisions by this board and that patience has snapped in the past few weeks.

But fairweather? Do me a favour.

    So @RedJim

You certainly seem to have a very special relationship with our Club.

Here's all the posts you've made since August ( spoiler alert... LJ didn't come back but you ditched BCFC anyway) :

    August 30

If Johnson came back that'd be me finished with City until Lansdown sells the club.

    October 29

Thanks Steve Lansdown, that's me done with this football club for a while. Please sell up, you haven't got a clue.

    October 30

Fantastic summary, great to read a take down of our clueless owner and chairman like that in the national media.

    October 30

    LANSDOWNS OUT!

    November 3

Not going to waste my time watching that entitled tosser try and justify things. Lansdowns out.

     November 7

Exactly what I'm thinking. I'm not sure I'll attend another game at the Gate this season, I've had it with Steve Lansdown FC.

Piss of Lansdowns and Tinnion - you've screwed up a decent thing that Nige was building at this club. Just go.

You need to take the internet less seriously bud.

And also, so what? I stand by my feeling about the Lansdowns and Pearson's sacking. Doesn't mean I'm not a City fan. I'm just totally fed up with their ego driven decision making. This is a forum and I'll say what I'm thinking just like everyone else.

Do you believe that the Lansdown’s would tell any prospective manager the truth about their role at the club?

Apparently Nigel was sacked because the under 23’s weren’t in the top 6, but probably could have been following games against Sheff Wed and QPR?

    Spot on. Totally deluded.

No offence to Manning or anyone accepting the widely accepted poison challenge of becoming the new ‘Head Pelham Puppet’ at Ashton Gate, but nobody with any serious ambition in management is going to want to work under this noddy setup.

If Manning or whoever else comes in their yardstick won’t be a winning streak when people return from the treatment table, but whether or not they can put half of the academy in the top 6 with 12 key players out injured. They’ve said it themselves, it’s a sackable offence.

This football club is so interwoven with the Bristol Sport monstrosity that has been created by these clowns that we are struggling to find a serious investor.

We’re totally entrenched by these wallies and it’s such a shame watching fans reluctantly sucking it up, accepting we are where we are and supporting whichever ‘puppet’ accepts their career ending move.

Torn between the passion for YOUR club and the total shit show that has ruined it.

I admire your passion to let things go for the sake of the team, but I just can’t let this one go myself.

Thanks for the cash and the investment, but in order to reach the Premier League you need a blend of youth and experience and there has to be a balance. Never seen a side full of kids from the Championship reach the Premier League and don’t expect to see it in my lifetime with this club.

Oh, and P.S. Stop sending me emails about watching the ******* Flyers.

Once these muppets are gone I’ll come back. The only way to get rid is to vote with your feet and not simply roll over for a belly tickle and an insulting pat on the head.

Exactly what I'm thinking. I'm not sure I'll attend another game at the Gate this season, I've had it with Steve Lansdown FC.

I don't know why everyone is saying he needs to get promoted this season, John Landsdown will absolutley 100% backtrack on that with more guff about projects and processes and pillars and long term vision 😴😴

And people will lap it up.

Exactly. And the cycle repeats. Nothing will ever change until the Lansdowns go.

On another note, I’m working my way through the documentary at the moment. It’s genuinely shocking how appallingly he was treated after his red card. Thankfully as a society I do think we’ve progressed since then and I don’t think it would be anywhere near as bad today.

    Are you sure about that?!

It really is so sad to see that so many have had mental issues at some stage or another. I too went through a period where I thought I was better off out of it, I lost many mates in motorcycle accidents before they made their teens & honestly thought of ending my mental pain. I decided to come to Oz on my own & saw new outlooks in life that helped me over it, I'm in my mid 70's now & my only real worry is not being around long enough to do the things I want. I guess what I'm trying to say is that no matter how dark & deep your mental state becomes, things will improve if you give it a chance.

My biggest help was a german shepherd that stuck by me through all my bad moments & I'm convinced she sensed my problems, she's long gone now but her memories continue to pick me up.

Never give up & where there's a heartbeat there's hope

This is so true, dogs are the best friends when you need one the most.

My lab is 2 years old and the past 2 years have been a real struggle for me with my mind - I'm late 30s, living away from my family and close friends, my wife and I have been suffering with infertility for years, and life is moving on at a real pace. I am questioning whether I am enough and whether I can make myself happy now and in the future. Having my dog around has got me through some of my worst days - she senses when I'm sad, and never judges me.

So many lovely messages on this thread, it brings me a bit of hope reading them all, so thank you.

To be honest mate I also would like to know what is going on- haven’t got the time to trawl through multiple posts and certainly haven’t seen any conspiracy theories.

Whilst I am not the biggest doom merchant around Lee Johnson, considering him for a return to the club is absolutely bonkers, he has failed miserably at hibs and despite a promising start at Sunderland failed again.

Not getting a striker in even on loan also looks bizarre.

The thing I am getting very pissed off about is the seemingly radio silence from our owner, chairman and ceo.

If Johnson came back that'd be me finished with City until Lansdown sells the club.
