I think you are right but imo it’s down to the fact that we either play open or cautious, we aren’t quite good enough yet to get the balance right. Last night we were open and that meant we took chances. My guess is that on Sunday we will revert to a very counter attacking game which doesn’t involve drawing Leicester on and trying to play through them starting from Max.

    hope you spelt saturday wrong......

There were IMO a host of factors at play there.

We didn't average 33k in the top flight. Maybe 20-25k, Liverpool was of course a top game.

Attendances fell across the country form late 1970s to mid 1980s. We would not have been immune.

Helped in no small way by a fall from top flight to near bankruptcy in between May 1980 and Feb 1982! Under 2 years, in the 3rd successive relegation season.

No Parachute Payments then, relegation meant you were in at the deep end! Gap not all that big too of course.

There is generally more of a bounce back in Year 1 or 2 in terms of relegation, not least by the huge advantage relegated sides get now v then.

Our crowds would have been higher also if it werent for dodgy turnstile operators....

26500 is closer to the capacity, it seems to get rounded up.

Bristol Bears , no segregation, sold out with 26399 ( https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-news/record-crowd-set-bristol-bears-3428274 ) , Man City game sold out, with 800 seats not sold in the Atyeo, 25700 , game vs Preston this season, home area sold out, 1357 Preston tickets (out of 4400 in Atyeo) attendance 23330, suggesting agan 26373 would have been capacity.

Our head of whatever was on radio bristol this morning and said capacity is 27,500....

No probs, I discovered this way back when I used to commute fairly often.

Also another fun fact for commuters, when you claim you can get it paid to your own bank account - so even if you travelled for work and they paid for it, you can still claim the money for yourself.

You never would have made the 17.18 back anyway....
