Minimum wage the lucky buggers. Even our Steve thinks it’s a job worth more than that.
Can earn plenty of cash in hand aswell from that job (tenners through the fence & all that)

Clearly have no idea what Chris Martin is/isn’t capable of these days
Really excited by this, bit of a no lose situation in my opinion, he could even end up our JCH signing without the price tag.
Good luck Chris, make your mark wearing the famous quarters.- 4

You’d think that if the Gas were so special and “always get behind their club” they’d fill their tiny ground more than a couple of times a season?
This.
Only 7500 odd bothered to turn up today. Loyal & True though

Wael & the new owners are so rich they’re having to put a lottery fundraiser out in order to fund improvements in technology and overall money going into the academy. Wowza.
That needs 500 of them to sign up for it to work. They've not yet reached that figure despite it being launched at the beginning of August & had someone from their club begging for them to sign up the other day.
Loyal & True my arse.

Just spoke to someone in at rovers, asked about the clarke-harris transfer.,. His view is that rovers, probably deliberately, had agreed a weekly salary figure over the phone and when he came to sign they had provided a contract with a lower amount to try and save a few quid.
everything then got renegotiated and time ran out on the deal, as we know. Apparently the mythical fax machine which i joked about isn’t actually a thing, not any more anyway, but it wasnt until past 11 that the deal was finally agreed and by then it wasnt possible to request the extension.
Accidentally on purpose phucked up then, because they couldn’t afford it.

Just speaking to a gas ST colleague.
The temporary stand that they put up behind the goal, was to give away fans seats as well as disabled facilities, or else they would be fined by the league.
The problem is now, that they've taken it down (as of yesterday) as it's getting in the way of the new stand.
I have no idea if they plan to put it up/take it down before and after every home game to avoid getting fined, or if they're just going to take the EFL fine and have to accept it.
Given that the planning meeting isn't for another month anyhow, this is absolute chaos of the highest order there.
Also, the new stand will block half the away standing area as well (Like Bolton's old ground, back in the day)... Honestly couldn't make it up.
They probably just wheel it back in from the car park.

Or blame it on the locals
This screams of local residents at BS7 stirring sh** to fight the modest development of the North stand.

I'm disappointed that so many have given up the fight. That competition needs sustained attendances of less than 100, then there may be a -slim- chance, that we get listened to.
Unfortunately (in my opinion) football's fanbase is changing and the matchday experience is becoming a very different thing, although I do accept that this may well be one some people want. To go slightly off topic, I still find it absolutely incredible, that many Champions league games are played in front of less fans to allow bigger advertising boards, I mean, FFS take that in for a second, what on earth is going on there?
The one thing that hooked me as a youngster and I suspect did most people- certainly of my age, was the atmosphere at a game and the advent of things like B teams with a separate identity taking part in senior fixtures does,in my opinion, devalue the whole matchday experience.
We are fighting a losing battle of course, but that still doesn't mean you should roll over and have your tummy tickled.
Must of been an away game for you then?

You really think any City fan would be jealous of them signing Harris?

It’s not the equivalent of us spending £25m and blowing everything on one gamble.
It’s investing SOME of the money we do have into the playing squad. It’s widely accepted that you cannot plead poverty when you’ve generated £35m over two transfer. We have money, SL doesn’t want to spend it. We have a 33 year old striker to lead the line until January at least! It’s embarrassing from our board.
Those criticising Rovers for signing JCH come across as jealous more than anything. Trying to play it down when on paper it’s an impressive signing for them.
For what it is worth, I would have taken JCH as a deadline signing today. In my opinion he would out score Wells in the championship.
**** me I’ve heard it all now

If the fewers get him fair play they're showing concrete ambition. Pressures on them now to make play offs at the very least.
Be funny when they fail to make those play offs after breaking their poxy transfer record and splashing x amount on has beens. They really are going for broke this season. Fail to go up & things could be very interesting over at the dump.

If JCH has any chance of going back to Rovers, I think we’re missing a trick. He’s scored goals wherever he’s been, surely he could do a job for us?
He’s never done it in Championship, there’s levels to this game and he ain’t up to it.

This tells you all you need to know…
He still has a house in portishead as far as I am aware. I assume his girlfriend still lives there. I used to see him regularly shopping in Aldi when he played for the gas.
