  1. Have they got the majority of possession because they are out playing us, or has Cotts issued instructions to make sure we don't get caught on the break. Let them have the ball, and defend it properly.
  2. 2.10 of injury time played according to the BBC - I think they under-reported it by 2 seconds, it's really 2.12
  3. haahaa, too much cider earlier, I meant; or it may turn out that we're one of few teams not to come away with at least a point from them. although maybe teams that play at Ashton Gate should get a point for losing 2-0 away?
  4. More inclined to do that when we win. (Sorry couldn't help it!) Can't take too much from the first game or two of a season (which is why I never start betting until a few games in). SW may walk away with the title and this result not look too bad, or it may turn out that we're one of few teams to come away with at least a point from them. Hopefully, it will mean that SL will ensure the necessary cash is available to strengthen if he wasn't already....
  5. According to the BBC - Gas have had no shots (8 to the cobblers) - and some think our game is one sided!
  6. Can't we at least get a corner - give Flinty a chance to score first (as I voted for!)
  7. Looks like they updated the job ad this afternoon: http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/vacancy-first-team-physiotherapist-2601361.aspx Must have someone in place for tomorrow, interviews are next week (if anyone applies!)
  8. Would be funny - and it's not normal to take certificates to an interview - just bring them with you on you first day, if you could turn up by 2.30 on 8 August...
  9. Make sure the doors are locked - or the gas will try to steal AG again, by claiming squatters rights.
  10. That really is hilarious! The sucessful candidate must be able to start immediately. So what happens if they don't get someone by their first game, as the new season starts soon (thank god!)
  11. And if you're a local (or any sort of trader) you should no longer be doing business with Rovers other than cash up front! The loss of credit terms is often what tips someone into administration earlier than would otherwise be the case.
  12. Apparently she works at Ladbrokes in Midsomer Norton. Any local city fans fancy going in to ask for the odds of Rovers going into administration?
  13. When wonga take control of the mem, perhaps SL would like to buy it to protect it as a war memorial and community asset for Bristol. Not sure if I'd rather the Gas be kicked out or charged a high rent (income which could then be reinvested in City, HaaaHaaa!)
  14. Anyone going - what train are we getting?
  15. God, they really can't get over the fact that they have made it into the football league can they: "I know that he is desperate for another opportunity to play league football"
  16. With all the bidders reeling away 'cos of the stink as the door opens!
  17. To be fair, if I was a rich American I'd invest my money in Rovers: They have a huge fan base, with great potential to grow even bigger They could have a great new stadium, somewhere near Bristol They have their famous (not quite unique) quarters They are nicknamed the pirates They even have league status They only have several million in debts How could there possibly be a better football club to invest in? erm, actually, I've a few other clubs to consider for my investment........
  18. It's not just their nick name that fits: http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/rover "A person who spends their time wandering: " from Bristol to Bath, back to a different part of Bristol, to South Glos?.... "they became rovers who departed further and further from civilization" 'nuff said, oxford dictionaries have obviously seen their players! and Word Origin C14: probably from Middle Dutch or Middle Low German, from roven to rob (of a sports ground, either from local rivals as soon as they experience financial difficulties, or from a local rugby club).
  19. And the Americans are particularly good at this, they use this 'rolling up' method in corporate corruption cases all the time. If your a rich 80 year old used to the good life, do you spent the rest of your life locked up, or do you give up those above you? FIFA may be big, but no match for the full force of the USA/FBI
  20. Got to be disappointed to concede two goals at home. Not really good enough City. :clapping: Well done, great way to end the season, and very suitable that Flint got the hat-trick!
  21. with the only shot on target of the game so far - good standard in the non-league!
  22. One concern. We're only 26 points ahead of Sheffield Utd, but they still have 30 points available.
