  1. Leeds did so well so catch up all those points on Ipswich (the gap was 18 not so long ago) but they've lost it of late, mad to be on 90 points and possibly won't go up! They could get 93 and finish 3rd, that must be a record ?
  2. My mates the Frome manager, I think the number of games recently caught up with them so a week off will help, will be interesting to see what happens, especially if word gets out that Wimborne are losing!
  3. Announcements to take effect starting this Saturday, April 20 FROM MLSSOCCER.COM NEW YORK (Tuesday, April 16, 2024)– Major League Soccer today announced that the Off-Field Treatment Rule, Timed Substitution Rule, and In-Stadium VAR Announcements will be implemented in MLS games beginning this Saturday, April 20. Off-Field Treatment Rule The Off-Field Treatment Rule allows medical professionals with time to assess and treat players off the field of play in a less pressurized environment. If a player with a suspected injury remains on the ground for more than 15 seconds, the referee will stop play and wave the medical crew onto the field to evaluate the player. When safe, the player will be removed from the field and remain off the field for a minimum of two minutes for further assessment and treatment. First implemented in MLS NEXT Pro midway through the 2022 season and continued through the entirety of the 2023 season, the Off-Field Treatment Rule has allowed medical staffs time to treat players, while also allowing match play to resume quickly. Exceptions to the Off-Field Treatment Rule include instances of potential head injury, goalkeeper injuries, serious medical events, and fouls resulting in yellow or red cards. Timed Substitution Rule Maximizing effective match time, the Timed Substitution Rule requires that a substituted player exit the field within 10 seconds. Failure to exit from any point on the field within the 10 seconds will cause the incoming player to wait for a 60-second holding period, before entering the game at the next stoppage. During the holding period and prior to the substitute entering, the team will play down a player. Exceptions to the rule include injury and goalkeeper substitutions. Enacted in MLS NEXT Pro during the 2023 season, 99.7% of the more than 3,200 substitutions were completed in 10 seconds or less. In-Stadium VAR Announcements VAR decisions will be explained and announced by the referee to fans in stadium and broadcast viewers at home. The new sporting initiatives were previously announced during the 2024 MLS preseason, but were postponed due to labor negotiations between the Professional Referee Organization (PRO) and the Professional Soccer Referees Association (PRSA) Other initiatives including the Return to Play Equity protocol and stoppage time clock, took effect at the start of the 2024 MLS regular season. https://www.sjearthquakes.com/news/news-mls-to-implement-new-competition-initiatives-this-weekend#:~:text=Timed Substitution Rule,-Maximizing effective match&text=During the holding period and,in 10 seconds or less.
  4. Wimborne lost last night so going into the last game of the season so Frome in 2nd need to beat Bristol Manor Farm to have a chance of winning the league, Bristol Manor Farm are in the playoffs so a win will confirm that place, all to play for!
  5. I think if Man Utd had a last minute winner chalked off there would have been a lot of fuss!
  6. They do every single week, about any crazy decision that's made, regardless of the teams. VAR was brought in to overturn clear and obvious errors, and pre VAR, if the linesman had not given the Cov goal offside, there would have been nobody claiming that he actually was offside and Man Utd were robbed by a poor decision.
  7. VAR once again killing the joy of football! Pre VAR if the officials didn't flag it offside, then lookjng at the replays nobody really would have argued the decision as it was close
  8. There were more that 2000 watching the game yesterday between Wimbourne and Frome, big top of the table clash
  9. It feels like he won a competition to be a footballer!
  10. Capital 'A' for And mid sentence? Tut tut
  11. You don't need to be down with the kids to like DnB it's been around for 30 odd years at least! FYI my nephew is one of the pics showing Dom his City badge
  12. It doesn't make any sense, somebody has made that up and thought it sounded good!
  13. Commemorative kit incoming
  14. Yeh but I don't think that's the point, you are comparing apples and oranges really, it's different situations. I agree LM has not kicked on and I don't rate him myself and wanted Nige to stay so no bias from me, but the statistics here are loaded to make the point that LM hasn't done any better than Nige, rather than trying to pick more like for like stats for a true comparison
  15. Lucky you didn't compare with Nige's first 24 games in charge as well, I remember we seemed to lose most of them! That's Statistics for you!
  16. Who cares? Look at Italys famous blue shirts, remind me where the blue is in their flag? (And no I don't need a lesson on why it's blue I know)
  17. Hyperbole: noun noun: hyperbole; plural noun: hyperboles exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally.
  18. So it's just hyperbole. That's what I thought but thanks for confirming!
  19. Out of interest how do you know for a fact that there are plenty of self entitled lay abouts? How do you define plenty? How do you know this is a fact? I assume you have verified statistics? You also say it's a matter of fact there are many who would rather lay about & let you or any hard working person pay their benefits with our tax money. How do you know this is a fact? How do you define many?
  20. Plus games v Swansea and Cardiff are often moved
