Why we don't need for a big target forward
INCRED replied to cidered abroad's topic in Football Chat
If you play to feet or into areas where the defender cannot make a challenge without some risk then you don’t need to have a big physical forward, running the right channels, coming short or going long with pace is how we use our frontline when attacking teams having a high press also means we look to win the ball in the opponents defensive areas and I can see a lot of our goals coming from that approach next season High press means the opponents only realistic out ball is hitting it long and our defensive physicality can then pick up these balls and start off another attack -
Will be interesting to see what NP does but lots of options and if we suffer injuries then we have all bases covered as things stand
-
If Scott does stay then I can see him playing at the point of a diamond midfield Looking at the current squad I’m trying to figure out where McCrorie & Roberts fit into a system and where NP sees them playing
-
I would put him in the same category as Josh Brownhill when he first joined us, very similar with a lot of potential

And Johnson from Preston on a free as well as Pearson so can’t see them going for Knight as well

Channel 4 at 5pm today if you want to watch the final

A match made in heaven, can’t stick Ben Pearson or Stoke so when we play them I will be saving up my seasons worth of verbal abuse for them

Kalas - Signed for Schalke04

Kalas for what we paid for him has been disappointing since being at City I appreciate he’s struggled with injuries the last 18 months and he will more than likely leave this summer The club have obviously offered him a new deal but very much risk based and I for one feel that is the right thing to do if TK thinks he can get a better deal elsewhere then he is free to do so in the knowledge that he can always re-sign with us but I dare say the club have a timeline on the contract offer -
Alex Scott - £25m to Bournemouth- Confirmed

100% agree, look at the England U21s doing so well at the moment and most getting very little game time in the Premier league I would like to think AS wouldn’t just jump at the first opportunity and just bide his time. If he stays for at least another season I would like to think he sees a pathway to the Premier league with us rather another club -

I’m not bothered and think the club have moved on. If JB was told he would be treated the same as everyone else in the squad and be selected on merit and he’s had a change of heart then so be it I recall some of the verbal spats he had with LJ on the touchline in games towards the end of his time at City and thought he overstepped the mark regardless of what he thought he shouldn’t be openly arguing the toss with the manager -

But no one has bid anything yet according to the club -

If they see £25m as too much then he won’t be going there unless they want to trade a player that we would want to balance the deal -

I am thinking the same, I don’t think premier league clubs will take a £25m punt on a 20 year old with 2 years left on a contract if he has a stellar season and we miss out on promotion then I think we will cash in but at this moment in time and if I were a premier league club I think i could find better value for £25m with more experience I hope I’m right! ? -

We are not obliged to or need to sell Scott as he has 2 years left on his contract, let’s not push the lad out the door just yet. Another year in the Championship with us will not do him or us any harm and could enhance his reputation and value -

What we don’t want is for him to end up at Crapdiff on a better contract -
Fair play to Inter, they gave them one hell of a game and didn’t give them any time on the ball I thought MC would roll them over fairly easily but they were a tough nut to crack

I wouldn’t be surprised if they beat the record for the lowest ever points tally in a season in the Prem but will pocket ££££’s for their new stadium and come back in the Championship as a more attractive option for better players -

INCRED replied to Never to the dark side's topic in Football Chat
So who’s to say as part of any deal that he is loaned back to us at a discounted rate? He is our player still and under contract for a further 2 years We are not in a situation where we have to sell and this has been said by the club, if clubs are lining up to buy him then we hold the cards still and can dictate the terms -
He’s probably the natural predecessor to Colin as the biggest ass wipe that we love to hate ?

I can see JB slotting into midfield as can quite a few others such as Naismith, McCrorrie. It depends what role NP feels best suits the team & personnel he puts out on the pitch We certainly have some strength on the left hand side of the pitch, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mehmeti used on the right flank very much like NP used Mahrez at Leicester So many permutations, I just hope we continue with a back 4 as I am not sure we are as effective and attacking playing 352
