  1. Could go 7th with a win tomorrow
  2. Got to admit, it’s a very good performance so far. Just lacking that finish but you would be hard pressed to work out who was 4th and who was 12th based on this match I like how well we are pressing and defensively we look fairly solid Very fluid in midfield with lots of movement and passing angles and options
  3. I think Manning is a new breed of coach that the club felt we needed. NP in all honesty was a man for the moment to install some structure & discipline and transition us from what was a car crash of a situation for the club which became exasperated by covid and a significant financial burden Manning spoke very well and his awareness of the game constantly moving and changing and being at the forefront of adapting to this probably fits with the clubs vision going forward We as supporters need to be patient, I’m convinced we will bring in players in January either loans or permanent or both. We have gaps in the squad that need plugging as well as future proofing for players that may not be here after the summer I enjoyed NP as an old fashioned type manager but the time was right and we are well positioned in the league to kick on As JL said, we need luck and players available to give us a chance of achieving a top 6 finish - Let’s see what develops over the next 5-6 months
  4. Totally unreasonable to critique at this stage of the season , take a look back at the end of the season and post again. I dare say views will be very different on some if not all
  5. We can’t complain too much 3 goals in a 5 goal thriller so far Manning ball is more entertaining than Pearson ball
  6. Yep, the day he waved goodbye to the Atyeo and out of AG Absolute garbage player
  7. I fear the same for the lad and it could be the end of any career at this level
  8. Dear oh dear referee, that is never a pen not only has the ref failed to give about 5 yellow cards to them but he has just made the biggest balls up in his career
  9. Perhaps a Joey Barton like character would be more to your liking for our Head coach? 10/10 entertainment value but crap as a coach
  10. Hopefully his time with the squad will transpire to a good performance on Saturday
  11. He comes across as very measured, intelligent and a well balanced approach to everything in both football and life generally He talks very well and obviously knows the football industry both positive & negative elements I find him quite interesting to listen to and easy to take on board what he says
  12. I don’t want to big this lad up too much but he reminds me a lot of Iniesta and Pep obviously sees him as a very good player. Would be great seeing him play in the midfield with Bellingham
  13. The skill levels and pace was amazing, the quality on the pitch was different level and made what was a great spectacle - Premier league at its very best
  14. He can see all he needs now and has 2 weeks to do something to get this squad playing in a pattern that reflects his playing style - if we can’t improve on this display then I would be concerned
  15. More akin to Pep and his coaching ethos - pretty sure he drills his teams this way especially when trying to get the ball back
  16. He does play a 4 at the back at times and he has enough in this squad to adapt to whatever way he sets us up. It may be the case that we get some loans in January to supplement the style he wishes us to play I’m intrigued to see what effect he has on our playing style
  17. Who’s his No2 at Oxford? I think whoever he brings in of his staff will also be important in how he develops our playing style as he certainly has Oxford playing some fantastic attacking football apparently having spoken to a few people I know who follow Oxford. They weren’t sure when he joined earlier this year but say he’s got them playing the best football they have seen at the club in the time they’ve been following which is 30 years Appreciate it’s L1 but playing principles and coaching apply at any level, just the players are a higher quality the further up the pyramid you coach - hopefully
  18. At last, a well balanced and informed post rather than the deluded comments of those who expected a high profile coach who was going to wave a magic wand and get us promoted If it is Manning then I’m happy to back him and support the players rather than write him off before he’s even started
  19. Ironic that they signed Palmer & JD from us
  20. If you base FLs ability on his Championship experience then he has done it with Derby albeit with a couple of good loans from the Prem It would certainly raise the profile of the club and inject a lot of interest from the football media I wouldn’t be too disappointed to see him brought in if he can attract a few loans in January to boost a decent squad that we already have and kick on and up the division
