He was before my time, but my Dad really rated him. RIP.

Sad to hear that another great character from football has gone. I remember when he was manager at Doncaster in the 1980s when City beat them to get into the play offs with a late Colin Gordon goal and Joe Kinnear was interviewed after the game, expressing his concern about the pitch invasions. RIP Joe.

Good away point, but sounds like a dire game and performance. -

Presumably injured? A huge loss, though. -
I got stuck at lights yesterday waiting for them to pass. It was a surreal moment but really entertaining and all looked really good natured. Lots of people smiling, which is surely what life is all about. But I didn’t actually know what was going on until I read about it in this thread.

End of Season Awards 2023/24 - VOTING NOW OPEN!

I voted for Dickie and Conway. Champagne moment for me was Cornick’s goal v Southampton. I wasn’t at the West Ham game so didn’t see Conway’s equaliser live. And I just missed his goal in the home game after getting to the ground late because of a problem with the bus I was on. -

I’m glad LM has gone with the same starting 11 as the Leicester game - the players deserved to keep their places. Fingers crossed we play with the same desire and intensity. COYR -

I haven’t been there for ages and definitely not since they re-developed the ground. The park behind the away end was often lively and the toilets were like a swamp. One weird memory I have (must have been early 1990s) is when away fans were let out from the gates at the front of the away terrace after the game and had to walk across the pitch to be let out of the ground at the other end. -
I was really annoyed with the linesman as well with the penalty not being given for the foul on Conway - it was blatant and right in front of him.

I thought Twine looked rusty (no surprise after so long out) but he was always involved and it’ll be interesting to see how he plays in the remaining games.

Really enjoyed that. An excellent win and a good performance from City. We rode our luck with those sitters you’d normally expect Vardy to score (great saves by Max, though), but we had lots of chances, should have had a penalty and were good value for the win. -

I’ve got a feeling we’ll get something out of today’s game. -

It’s my son’s U16s team’s last season. They’ve only got a couple of games left and it’s strange to think that’s coming to an end with many of them having in the team for nearly 10 years. No particular highlights this season (they’ve lost many more than they’ve won) but some brilliant games. I’m hoping he’ll go on to join the U18s - at the moment he wants to but things can change. Behaviour on the touchlines has been really good.

It’s difficult to feel optimistic about City at the moment. If we avoid defeat it’ll be a bonus. But hopefully the travelling fans will be rewarded with a decent performance and result. COYR -
I don’t have any optimism with Manning at the helm. Our football is dull - slow and pedestrian with little intensity or aggression. The unity in the team and fans, with a sense of shared purpose, that was slowly cultivated by NP has been eroded. I don’t get the sense the players would run through brick walls for him and the fans have lost patience already.

I agree. They seemed to lose interest as the game wore on. -

Delighted with the three points. But what a dire game. First half was abysmal. Second half was better once Sykes and Robert’s came on. We seemed to have the tactic of sitting off Swansea to deny them space in the middle and pick up loose passes from them. That got more successful as the game wore on, but it was like watching paint dry at times, with zero intensity from us for long periods. Overall the performance felt very flat and the AG crowd was more disgruntled than I’ve seen for a long time. -

City are absolutely woeful so far. The only entertaining thing that has happened so far was the calamitous Swansea corner just now.
