  2. Gutted I can’t make it to today’s game. Hopefully it’ll be a good performance and result. COYR

  5. He was superb tonight. Looked more confident on the ball and defended well.
  6. Really enjoyed that. Loved the commitment from City and a fully deserved win. West Ham players seemed to lose their heads. Missed the goal after getting to the ground slightly late (we scored just as we got through the turnstiles) - unfortunately someone on the bus from the Bris park and ride was taken ill, so the bus stopped on the Hartcliffe way and we walked from there. I really, really hope he/she is ok. Credit to the fans on the bus who stayed to help out.
  7. It’s difficult to think of a harder working, thoroughly professional City player. He fully deserved his 20+ goal season. Best of luck, Andi.
  8. Glad he’s signed permanently. I like him as a player and he has potential. Good shot on him and good at set pieces.
  9. Just caught up with the highlights. What god-awful defending for their goals. Max obviously at fault for the first, and for the second we let their player cross the ball far too easily and then let the scorer get on the end of it. Much too passive.
  10. I’ve only been there once - the game in the late 90s when we lost 2-1 and Watford pipped us to the league title. My dad had to go in the home end that day (away end was a sellout and he couldn’t get a ticket). He said quite a few City fans had to do the same and their fans were really welcoming. One of those games today where we should certainly be looking to get something, but they will probably be thinking the same. I’ve got a positive feeling we’ll get the three points.

    Sven

Sad news. He was a likeable manager My memory of the England era under Sven was a lot of early promise, typified by that win in Germany, followed by underachievement with a talented squad. Maybe the players were complacent or maybe they weren’t as good as they thought.

  14. I got mine and my kids’ season ticket seats tonight using my laptop. No problems. But it’s not good that it’s not been as easy for so many fans.
  15. Just seen the highlights. Great finish from Conway after an excellent pass from Williams. Great to see the celebrations in the away end. COYR!
  16. My son’s game kicks off at 2pm, so I’ll be keeping an eye on the City score whilst watching him. Gutted I couldn’t make it to today’s game. Hopefully City will put in a good performance to reward everyone who has travelled, especially those fans who have had nightmare journeys on the trains.

  18. It was still played after we won in the mid-80s too.
  19. Yes, late 1980s. I remember seeing the goals on the local news. I think we won 3-2 or 3-1 and Scott McGarvey scored.
  20. I can’t remember the brand, but I remember having to loop the laces around the bottom of my boots before tying them because they were so long. I used to love doing that. My first shin pads were terrible, made of bamboo from what I remember.

  22. A true City legend. There can’t be many players who’ve played in both the top and bottom division with the same club. I only caught the latter part of his career, but he was still one of my favourite players. I wasn’t at the 2-1 win at Eastville in 1983 (I remember very clearly listening to the radio commentary with my dad and dancing around the living room when Hirst scored the winner), but I love the footage of that game and the way he celebrated his goal. Happy birthday, Tom.
  23. I miss it when the teams ran out from the tunnel separately, with the opposition getting booed.
