I'm not sure the government can do anything, they are in a no win situation. If they say football shouldn't go ahead, people will (rightly) say that nobody should be working. If they say it should go ahead, they'll be accused of interference and/or not showing respect. They are far better off shutting up and letting the footballing authorities make their own decisions.

It'd be a recipe for disaster, there would be some clubs wanting to play and some not.

The government haven't announced a bank holiday today, millions of us are working today. Why are people working in football any different from people working in Asda?

I agree. I think if today/Monday was declared a bank holiday, then people would be ok with sport being cancelled. But it's not the fault of the Royal Family or the government, it'll be the FA/Football League that make any decision.

That's the issue I'd have with going fully cashless. A power cut, or an error on the servers and we are stuck.

I totally get having no love for the royals. I personally would much rather the country was a republic. But the vitriol aimed at a lady who has just died is bizarre. Whatever I think of the monarchy, I can't think of anything to personally hate the Queen for. I understand it more with somebody like Thatcher. But even then, at least let the woman be put to rest before acting like a ***.

People have lived to over 120. I understand it can be a relief when somebody who is in pain passes away. But I'd rather wish for somebody to get well, than hope they die just because they're old.
