  1. Series 2 shouldn't be too far away either, they have either finished filming or soon will have. It was their truck that went into the docks. They filmed something for series 2 outside my flat. If you see a shop scene with curtains twitching in the flat above, that's me. ?
  2. Yeah, it was. This video doesn't show much of the area before WW2, most of the early stuff is High Street/Wine Street, but you can get some glimpses of it. Seeing it develop in the 50s, 60s and 70s is fascinating.
  3. Yeah, definitely no darkness in Skins..... ?
  4. What an astonishing photo. I like having a big green space in the middle of the city, but at the same time we lost a hell of a lot of history in the war.
  5. Not heard of it, but I'll try and remember to seek it out on iPlayer. I'm a sucker for anything filmed/set in Bristol.
  6. I think Merchant has done very well to avoid coming down on one side of Bristolian politics. I can't remember character names, but he has one guy who is your stereotypical right wing Daily Mail type. And also has a woman who is a stereotypical leftie. And both are utterly ridiculous while also being totally believable. It's skilfully done when he managed to make "throw Colston in the river" and "throwing him in was vandalism" both equally ridiculous while not coming across as an insufferable centrist.
  7. Seconded, it's a great show. I find I miss a lot of the dialogue though as I'm too busy trying to spot locations I recognise!
  8. "How ake you but of IO" Need a few beers to be able to read that properly.
  9. And yet here you are, posting in a thread that's full of baseless speculation that Stelling's replacement will only be picked based on box ticking. Rather than say you hope the replacement is the best person for the job, you just had a bizarre rant about "the woke brigade".
  10. Diamonds Are Forever - Shirley Bassey
  11. As nobody has yet been announced for the Soccer Saturday job, what has that got to do with this thread?
  12. Seems you get comments when you don't say anything. Guess what people have different opinions. It is OK to disagree, oh but I forget the pro-discrimination brigade not only want to tell us what to say but also what to think. And of course they are ALWAYS right.
  13. I was going to write a reply to your post. But I realised the reaction I would get from the pro-discrimination brigade. Why am I not allowed free speech? ??????????????
  14. You are a disgrace. Floella presented Playschool on the BBC. Bungle was in Rainbow on ITV. 70s/80s TV is a very serious topic. ?
  15. Yep. They'll always say things like "the BEST person for the job should get it". But if a non-white person, gay person or a woman (or worst of all, all 3) gets a job, they cry and moan about "PC" and make snide "oh, I wonder why they got the job".
  16. The soft lot are the ones upset at just the idea he might be replaced by somebody who isn't a white man.
  17. That can't be true. The "experts" in this thread have already decided the new presenter will be a disabled black transgender lesbian.
  18. The one that the Barcelona of Bristol easily won......erm finished behind Barnet in.
  19. You should definitely hunt them out, there are some cracking episodes. The UFO one has some really bizarre people and the swingers one is eye opening.... ?
  20. He's not only more popular, but he's also a nicer bloke.
  21. No, with all that water hitting the sun, think of all the steam that would boil us!
  22. Why don't we make a really long hose pipe and just send all the excess water into space? Don't point the hose at the sun though, we don't want to risk putting it out.
  23. I had to Google, but the only two born after 1980 I've heard of are Nigel Reo-Coker and Nigel de Jong. I couldn't find anybody I'd heard of called Gordon who was born after 1980.
