Leicester City at home match thread
robin_unreliant replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Trouble is, the Lansdowns have already made it clear they won't get proper football experts in to run the clubb and probably don't have a clue which manager to appoint. So no guarantee it will get any better. -

Isn't Tanner the obvious RCB? Can't see him as a WB. But then who plays RWB - Sykes would be the obvious choice there. I'm puzzled. -
England tipping it between three of them all stood together in Belgium's penalty area and losing it. Big lump down the field and goal scored. Sums up the problem with our 'modern' coaching for me.

Is that correct though? Fans who POTD pay considerably more. The upper Lansdown is the typical place for the bigger games and it can be £35-40 per seat, which is a decent premium over those all being sold as ST. I get it that the average POTD will be less than if we had 100% ST holders as you have to include the empty seats in that calculation. If we are up there though and are playing well, getting close to full, I would think the total revenue increases if there is a lot of POTD.

The End of the Beginning and the Beginning of the end

Maybe if it's true Manning will stop playing not to lose and actually try to go for it. Might as well go down fighting. Maybe not, just wishful thinking that we might get some entertainment. -

I don't think we are talking about not understanding management here. What he totally lacks is any of the traits of a leader. Something Nige had and understood. I don't think Liam has studied leadership, too busy working on the grass. Fact is the whole club has overlooked the importance of leadership. We have absent people at the top and incompetent people below them in this regard. We are truly rudderless and it will catch up with us next season if nothing changes. -
Are we the dullest club in the country?

Just look at the players we sign to understand why it is so boring to be a City fan. When did we last splash any cash on an exciting young goal scoring striker? Last time I can recall a signing anything like that was Famara. OK he wasn't a world beater but at least the anticipation was there he might be another Kodjia. Fact is Steve won't spend the money and wages required to get these kind of players in. The plan is to get them cheap from the academy. No ambition, no exciting new strikers to get you off your seat. All stems from Lansdown I'm afraid. -
If you want Tinnion and Manning to go then.....

I expect there will be a decent crowd to watch us lose to Leicester. However, if things carry on like this, then Blackburn could be the game that sees a lot of empty seats. With no excuse like Mother's Day. If ST holders can hold off until then the double whammy may make SL stop and think at least. -
Predictions for our final eight games

Agreed. Not sure we will beat Huddersfield either. So potentially 5 points. Jeez that's depressing. -

So you're happy for him to bring in more players he thinks have the qualities we need - like Mebude? -
What would it take for them to get rid of Manning? If we didn't win another game this season would even that be enough? I fear not.
-
At least he's actually at the club, unlike most of them.

They've been peddling that line for the last ten years. Hope enough ST holders send the message that they no longer believe it will change to make the Lansdowns take notice. -

I'm fed up with people saying McCrorie is only shit due to being out injured. To me he sums up what you get signing average players from the scottish league. He has no redeeming features on the pitch, despite apparently being a 'good lad'. -

I thought so. No mention by the commentator on ESPN. Who also thought we were doing well up to that point. -

Yeah but if you are a striker will you be happy to join the club when you are unlikely to start very often. What confuses me is that managers will throw on three attackers in the last twenty minutes if they are losing. I find it frustrating that modern coaches seem to think it makes sense to play negative for most of the game, then go for it when that results in losing. Just wish the emphasis was more on attacking, scoring goals and creating an entertaining game of football. Rather than a chess game finishing with ten minutes of caution to the wind when you've been out-thought.

Ten points better off, when you've sold Conway and Pring and bought a couple of L2 players is probably pretty ambitious tbf.
-
Pretty much said if we sign another striker he won't play WITH Conway but as an alternative. Won't be seeing two up front under Manning then.

McCrorie - useless. -
I didn't get the fuss about Foden until I saw him play live at AG. His movement and speed of thought were so impressive. Totally changed my view of him and has made me realise just how different it is just seeing them on TV.

Makes me wonder if some of the players have since been told they won't be staying and things have gone tits up in the dressing room.
