  1. Fourth time he fell over nearly leading to a goal.
  2. McCrorie also fallen over 3 times when running with ball. In the groove early on.
  3. He starts off with pace, runs into a defender and falls over. Like clockwork. Hardly ever gets given the foul he seems to be looking for.
  4. Please can we bring this back. Clive Whitehead used to be equally entertaining. Old football was so much more fun than this new style crap. There again, probably just that I'm an old git, set in his ways.
  5. Wasn't that part of the message when the change happened? The club (ie BT) will dictate the style of play and recruit to suit that. The HC then has to deliver said style of play. Which he isn't. Because it isn't a style that fits with his gameplan. Think I am beginning to see the flaw here....
  6. No argument with the point you're making. I seem to remember at least two one-on-ones with the goalie that Tommy failed to take? I guess lack of opportunities does make you remember them more though.
  7. Don't you think Tinnion already sees himself as that experienced older head that is 'helping'? I suspect the club does.
  8. I was really impressed with the way we started the Boro away game. Lots of players pressing high up the pitch and repeatedly winning the ball and swarming forward. THAT is what I thought BT was talking about when describing how we want to play. Unfortunately we only managed to keep it up for about 20 mins and haven't done it since then.
  9. I would agree that, when fully fit, it would make sense to play Cam in front of Roberts. Sykes can the go back to his most effective position. Maybe that isn't complicated enough for Mr Robot.
  10. I humbly submit that I can see the flaw in your eminently sensible essay Harry. No experienced and competent manager with a top level scouting set up, is gonna be satisfied with shopping in the bargain basement. We were extremely lucky that Pearson went along with it for so long. That's where Tinnion has come into his own. Convincing SL he has the skill to buy em cheap and sell em on at a big profit.
  11. I can't say I was livid when NP was sacked. I honestly didn't think we were on a trajectory to get into the play offs, we seemed to be stuck in mediocrity. You can argue that was just down to lack of investment. However, Nige did seem to also have health issues which may have restricted what he could do. So I thought it was a reasonable decision to make a change. What I was worried about though was who the Lansdowns would choose to replace Nige. Predictably they seem to have got it totally wrong yet again. Cheap option with no experience. They'll get L1 if they stick with him. I really see absolutely nothing positive that he's added since he took over.
  12. Play probably our most effective attacker in Sykes wide left where he has no effect on the game. Then blame the players for not producing in the box. Hmmmm.
  13. Perhaps they've all had their sit down with the management to tell them where they stand for next season. Something certainly seems to have changed.
  14. No clue as to what will change it either. Depressing.
  15. Manning has gone full LJ now. Having no clue what to do, he just chucks on every attacker we've got.
  16. Sick of watching McCrorie cut inside and fall over, looking for a FK he won't get.
  17. Cornick adds f all wherever he plays so put him out left and get Sykes in his best position.
  18. Bad enough that we're short on attacking quality without making it worse by playing them out of position!
  19. I don't think there is any scenario in which LM gets the sack this season. I base that on my feeling that we are very unlikely to get relegated. If we did though, presumably he'd go at that point.
  20. If the issue is that the squad don't have the ability to play as LM would like, how quickly can we change that? I would be interested to know opinions, excluding Twine, on whether the January signings are gonna fit. My concern is they are targets BT had already lined up as he likes them, rather than being the right types to fit Manningball. As we reputedly are only looking at maybe an AM/Twine and a striker then that ain't gonna give Liam much help in getting to his type of squad next season either. All supports the theory that BT is as thick as two short ones as far as I can see.
  21. I'm really confused about where we are right now. The first 20 mins v Boro and the whole 90 mins of Soton were more than good enough for me. That wasn't long ago, although it feels like it! Given that, I want more time to see whether we can build on those games or not. Twine getting injured is annoying. He was clearly Manning's choice and I also want some idea of whether a few of his 'type' of player could turn things round. At the moment I think we need more evidence before judging that it just won't work under LM and we need another change. Also, I don't have any evidence yet of whether the players he would want in the summer are going to move us up the table where the hierarchy are saying we should be. So give him the rest of the season I'd say.
  22. I know it gets boring but the fact is we had them in Pearson and Alexander but decided that Tinnion knew better. What a shambles.
