    “Pretty much everyone” didn’t.

Signing players on loan like TGH makes sense, try before you buy with a fee agreed.

Borrowing a player you have no control over signing makes much less sense.

6th place is in my opinion already highly unlikely, 5th & above? No chance.

If we’d signed him in the same way as TGH I would have understood it, but not this.

    The Chuckle brothers strike again.

Agree that option to buy was essential.  However, in reality have we not just swapped Twine for Weimann for 6 months. Weimann was going to be sat on sidelines and leave and we get a ready to go player who will get games.  Not naively suggesting Twine isn’t dearer but hopefully could help spark some entertainment which has been sparse recently.

As a squad we haven’t added to depth which is as you know my big issue.

No different to playing Wednesday then Saturday, is it ?

With a threadbare squad & players returning but probably not up to full speed just makes sense for window to close & buy ourselves some time. Unless of course you know different & there’s 3 coming in within next 2 weeks?

  3. Twine was on our door step & seems a shame that we didn’t respond to that fact coupled with recommendations.  However, we always hear about the ones that got away but what about those that were also recommended whose careers bombed after the recommendation thus avoiding us wasting money.  Twine seems on parallel with gamblers who only ever tell you about their wins.  I’m genuinely interested in the % of players who were recommended & went on to flourish against the total pool of all recommendations as no idea personally?

  4. Anyone who got carried away with thoughts of a play off place was frankly deluded, as even with wins we remain miles off it.  I think the lows today are manner of our play, as not watched such a boring game since Brum on Friday.  We have nobody to open teams up and play it around so slow that it’s boring.  How many people were there today who were at their first game of season & what incentive is there for them to come back? Missed opportunity.  We need pace & no idea why Bell didn’t start in place of Sykes as that’s the change we make ? Williams & James are too similar but would go with Williams at present but not both.  Weimann wide is an absolute no for me.

We need to be realistic and accept quality is not there & squad depth is killing us as 4 in 11 hurt us.  We need new blood in January for sure &  whilst im delighted with points return but I’ll be happier when we get to 50 points then everything else this year is a bonus.

  5. Disappointing performance for me & a huge lost opportunity for a rare win at St Andrews. Just watched the Menehti headers back & two great chances that have to be taken.  We moved the ball too slow to which Vyner was constantly moaning about which is good to see.  Williams was superb and mom by a mile for me.  Thought TGH was poor as slowed it down & caught on the ball.  As others have said it’s a point gained but they were there for the taking & their fans would have made it toxic if we had scored.  Thought Bell looked good when he came on and played a brilliant ball across 6 yard box.

Im not sure how many of Blues team played at the Gate but what a contrast in the two games I’ve seen them in.  If we could nick one from them then I’d have Bacuna all day long as quick, strong and technically very good.

You'll be able to pick them up from Jerry (most likely or if not the steward on your chosen coach) when boarding the coaches.

I’ve just collected tickets directly from Jerry at AG via a communication on X to SLO.  Jerry did say they were over 500 tickets that needed collection & was hoping that the ticket office would open tomorrow as it would be carnage taking that many up there.

Thanks to Jerry for his support today as top man & went over and beyond to help.

  7. It’s quite simple for me in that you’ve made a huge statement about coming off X so just honour your word & stay off.  If he wanted to wish everyone a Happy Xmas then do on the video released this morning. Not great judgement to come back on so soon after the dramatic exit.

I know McRorie came in as a rb and Tanner is coming under a lot of scrutiny. However, I’d be real tempted to try McRorie in midfield with Hickman and Knight.

We talk about Wells cameo and how he got us up the pitch. I also thought we were much better because Williams come on for James. It isn’t in possession that worries me. However out of possession and breaking up attacks I thought James really hurt us last night.

James and TGH are also way too similar to me. Neither is willing to really make runs into the area or down a channel. I know this isn’t a big role for CMs but you look at our crosses last night and many only have Conway to find. Knight was often out wide helping create the overload which is fine.

I am not convinced going 352 will make us better. We now have 20 minutes of Wells in the new BCFC and it led to two goals, granted we were chasing those goals but it looked good. Especially with Sykes form and Mehmeti possibly turning the corner. Also, really enjoyed Bell’s cameo. We still need a couple of players for that front 3. We need to find that bit of magic like Sunderland have with Roberts and Clarke. Like Hull have with Delap and Philogene when fit.

So yea, both their returns give us options and depth and versatility. Looking forward to it. Them coming back plus an early January signing could see us maintain this top 10 form.

Big shout out to Williams who was exactly what we needed at the time.  He won the ball back and then kept it for us.  I know he wasn’t on long but was superb on his little cameo.

    Yes he did.

He did exactly what the team needed when he came on.

What a dismal last comment, he’s scored 50 goals for us, presumably not by pointing.

I can’t fault Weimann today as won his tackles & helped us over the line

From the limited bits of Meerholz I’ve seen he reminds me of Morton for being elegant, upright on the ball, but more mobile.

For anyone interested this was the line-up:

What was Duncan’s distribution like, Shuffs?

Yes was good …. Can certainly ping it a good old distance. Have to say mostly went. long so none of this playing out from back . Bak is a unit & James was up against a small winger so as I say it was 90% long balls from him.

Meerholz is a good comparison to Morton but definitely more mobile.  Was really impressed by him.
