  1. I completely get why some want Cotts gone but I don't think another manager coming in would make any difference other than shifting some players around in different formations and maybe giving other players a chance. I don't personally feel the current squad in whatever formation is good enough. It might just about be good enough to avoid relegation but that's it. Any new manager would need exactly the same as Cotts. New players.

I just hope we can get some in before it's too late. God knows what happened that the summer transfer window went spectacularly wrong but we really need to move on and focus on what is in front now.

Right now I think a change of manager would be even more disruptive. They've got to focus on getting some players, stay in the division, add in the summer aswell and then we will see where Cotts can take them.

  2. This bore all the hallmarks of the early season games where we looked really promising by creating a mass of chances but just didn't convert them and then a momentary lapse losing us either all three or two points.

Really gutted. My only consolation from today is we have only hit the halfway point so there are still alot of games left where we are still not yet cut adrift, albeit beginning to tread water.

  3. Really disappointed today. Complete throwback to the start of the season. Fulham matched up to our formation and smashed four past us in 36 minutes, maybe they will carry on using it! Despite the disastrous start you could at least see most players trying to get something out of the game.

Do Kodjia and Wilbs actually complement each others play though? I don't really recall much actual interplay between them in most games. It can be argued that Wilbs can draw players to him and it frees up space for Kodjia but I don't really think its enough. They have each scored a few but they very contrasting styles and whilst good at what they do there surely needs to be a change up front to see if more of the chances we create can get taken.....not forgetting of course how to defend.

It does worry me that Baker has a dodgy injury record and with virtually the same back line that started the season, other than Bennett, we were so easily undone today as we were at the start of this season. We have been looking more solid lately but it does worry me for Tuesday night now. We badly need to keep in touch with that lower midtable.

  4. Having seen MK Dons on TV and reading various reports they looked like they were having a season like us. Lots of possession, missed chances and not keeping the ball out at vital moments. First half we made them look quite poor. Took a good goal, created another few we should have done better with as always but I never saw that 2nd half performance coming. All of a sudden started we started misplacing pass after pass and or losing the ball. Saw a stat on my phone app after that states our passing accuracy was just 56%.

I didn't really get the subs. I wasn't sure what the intention was. We have conceded a lot of goals already so to seemingly sit on a 1 goal lead for nearly a whole half was ridiculous. Did MK Dons suddenly find an extra gear we simply don't have or did we really sit back like that on purpose? Either answer is worrying.

  5. Great stuff gaining a point away and not letting their heads drop after going behind to a, let's face it, great strike from Kilkenny. Great to hear Kodjia was causing alot of problems again. Say what you like about the defence but for crying out loud get that bloody ball in. It can totally change games and I'm sure we would be getting excited had more of these chances gone in. The move for Freeman's missed sitter sounded great on the radio. Got to fancy us against Reading, who had Sa sent off. I was hoping for 4 points this week, kind of hoped the travellers could have witnessed it tonight but if the extra 3 have to come at home no one will be complaining. Come on you Reds!!!!

  6. I'm really encouraged that we've consistently played good football in each of our Championship games and look competitive to the point that in each of the games we've played you can quite realistically point to key events in any of those games that could have led to a different outcome in the overall result. However, despite all this possession and creating loads of chances the other teams have either scored the same or more than us with fewer chances. Most of these conceded have been either our error or unchallenged while at the other end we've scored but missed a lot more.

I would sooner have this though than being played off the park and simply not in the game. We don't look and play like a relegation threatened team yet and whilst it's too early to start speaking of must win games I really do think we need two decent results in the next two against Preston and Reading like a minimum of 4 points.

It will help instill belief that the good play is getting rewarded as I bet the players will get a bit twitchy soon which is the last thing we need.

I would like to see Agard start for Wilbs assuming he is fit enough as I just think we need that touch more pace to have something different going into a game. We've chopped around at the back through either injury or choice but not really done much with the front two at the moment to score more than we've missed while we try and sort defensive frailties. I know we've missed out on targets up front but in the meantime we've got no choice but to look within.

  7. I managed to catch most of the match on a live stream and the main thing I took from it was that Sheffield Wednesday just simply did a better job on us than them and we got badly disrupted following the injury to Bryan. Fredericks is not a left wing back, not that he did a terrible job there but it's obviously not what he was bought for.

They all looked comfortable on the ball which was good to see and I didn't feel that anyone had a shocker. Fielding didn't have a great deal to do. I saw us under alot more pressure in League One at times.

Sheffield Wednesday just did a good job holding back when we had the ball and exploited the gaps vacated by the wingbacks where most of the game we had a new player having to play the wrong side and the other side we had Burns who had hardly even played in league one, who I thought actually did really well and was quite a threat.I feel pretty sure this impacted our ability to create anything clear cut to the strikers where again one is completely new to the football over here let alone the team.

Sheffield Wednesday were similar I thought to Brighton and Forest last night where the main threat was down the wings which could be something we need to watch out for.

I am a bit concerned though by the injury to Bryan. Cunningham would no doubt have been there today so this did show up an early problem - not that anyone wouldn't have seen that coming - well I hope not anyhow! It'll be interesting to see what happens come the end of the month now. Who knows two quick fire results at home and maybe couple more signings and things will feel different very quickly. Can't wait now for first home game to give my full support followed by a nice tasty evening match against Leeds. Hopefully we will be really up for it on the pitch and in the stands.
