  1. Agree Fevs, I did pick up on the slightly dismissive response to the question. The telegraph interview really was an eye opener that he’s only had 9 training sessions. I think that’s absolute madness and quite remarkable. Think things he said last week post Millwall changed today, we were certainly “braver” with the ball today.
  2. Manning got it absolutely spot on today, took us 10/15 to get going but we were excellent today. The subtle tweaks he made at half time worked a charm, second half was a really impressive display. Slowly it’s starting to come together, it won’t always be good (Brum/Mwall) but I really like LM and really like what we’re beginning to become.
  3. This thread at half time was fuckinv embarrassing. Hang your heads in shame. What a performance that is
  4. Yeah interesting one for sure, Atalanta are a very tidy side. Lookman looks a totally new player out there and has been in fine form. I think going abroad for any young player is brilliant. I think Brum won’t hold out for long however I think he may go back on loan to Brum for rest of the season.
  5. It’s always a real boggler how people think these players would have stayed. Premier League football is the absolute pinnacle for a player domestically. Increase in wages, playing with better players, more exposure. Scott and Semenyo moved on for all these reasons and B’mouth are a stepping stone for them as much as we were. That’s the football food chain.
  6. I personally think he’s been a totally different person since AS left, body language, buzz etc. Think he’s finding it hard being without his best mate and flat mate etc. May be way off the mark but add that into the injuries and stuff and on a personal level it’s probably been quite a difficult season for him so far.
  7. That’s a fair question mate, I guess his post match presser he said, they discussed it at half time. I don’t think changing the shape would suddenly make us pass the ball quicker. It’s about bravery with the ball and not being afraid to give it away. Constantly taking the safe option, that’s a split second decision for the player.
  8. I think it all boils down to what we want to see, I’m very much a fan of Manning and was very much not a fan of Pearson. But overall I’m a massive fan of Bristol city. I know what I like to watch and that wasn’t what I seen under Pearson and for me, his football was poor and we were poor. I think people forget that because of all the good stuff he done off the pitch. Rotherham away springs to mind, one of the worst performances I’ve seen in a long time and bar 15 minutes of absolute magic from Tommy the chat would have been similar to today. I personally like what Manning is trying to do and when it’s right, it’s brilliant to watch. Today was awful and no matter who you are, you have to admit that. There were numerous bad performances under NP too. We just have to keep ploughing on and have faith that LM can get it all clicking (like Watford) for a sustained period of time.
  9. Brum at home this year was as bad if not worse. I know we cannot slander the almighty NP but that and Brum away 3-0 were up there with today.
  10. I didn’t say anything about a rebuild. I think we need a CM and a striker. That was needed before manning, the rest I think will be fine. I don’t think Manning has set us up to be so slow on the ball today and negative. Personally think we will get there. It’s still early days
  11. I mean he’s 0.07 higher, we’ve scored more goals per game slightly and for have conceded roughly the same per game. This after 11 games, so with time I have no doubt that only improves. Granted I could be wrong mate but this is NP side. So LM is getting more out of a side that isn’t his than the previous manager. With a few additions I only see this improving personally. Players are still adapting and learning.
  12. I’d suggest he is getting more from this side. We are 4 points off the play offs and 4 places higher than when NP departed.
  13. So if this is the way manning wants to do it, surely he deserves a chance to recruit for it to work. I don’t disagree regarding Liverpool but they still set up similarly, obviously they are blessed with explosive pace which is what Klopp utilises differently to Pep. We are not a million miles away from getting it right, unfortunately we don’t have enough mobility around the pitch to make it work currently, also have to remember we are 2 months into his tenure.
  14. Guardiola ball is not the way. The way that has just won a treble and dominated English football since it begun. Today was poor, but it needs to be tweaked and have the right players for it too work. All needs time. The days of blood and thunder football are gone. Any successful team currently play a version of your “Guardiola ball”

This was a constant throughout the game I thought and a pattern clearly worked on. AM drifted inside a lot of the game to give Pring the space to run into. Williams and Dickie both hit a couple of delightful diags out to Pring because AM had tucked inside.

Haven’t even watched that mate, will have a listen now. What were your thoughts?
  18. Spot on this Dave, Tanner was excellent last night. For me he gives us so much balance and is a catalyst in Pring being able to maraud forward with freedom. Vyner probably had most touches of the ball last night and Tanner wasn’t the only one “resetting” to Vyner.
  19. Let the dust settle before this post. Thought we were okay last night, first half we dominated the ball and felt like Brum barely touched it. Should have be 1-0, golden opportunity at the back post headed wide. 70% possession at half time proved this, however we had an awful lot of safe possession. Brum sat in a low block and we struggled to break this down. Going forward the pace was very slow and we struggled to break lines with our passing. The couple of times we broke through, the final pass or delivery just wasn’t there. Knight breaking forward. Second half was more even and opened up when Rooney made his subs, again we just lacked that bit of quality in the final 3rd. For me it was a decent performance just lacking that final bit, no matter how bad Brum are currently they defended their box well and made it hard for us. 64% possession overall away from home and our goal hardly threatened. After the busy schedule and Millwall coming up, I did feel the lack of urgency was a “plan” we didn’t rush anything at all. Williams alluded to possible “fatigue” in his post presser. Sykes was a massive threat again and gets through a ridiculous amount of distance going forward and defensively so I can see why he keeps getting hooked. Don’t think it’s tactical but more protection. Overall a decent point even if disappointing and we kept the run going, our record vs Brum is pretty woeful too. Win v Millwall and it’s been a fantastic last 5 games.
  20. It’s a disappointing result because of the run we’re on. Dominated the game, lots of safe possession just lacking that cutting edge. 10 points from 12 still positive return
  21. Few people looking for spares for tonight if anyone has a couple to get rid of!

  23. No we ain’t, manning was the cheap option. NP best manager ever Lansdowns out Sacked for being ill HAHAHAH MANNINGS REDS
  24. Absolutely and exactly why nobody except us went and hired him.
  25. Vyner was absolutely at the time. Wasn’t the only one. Just because you don’t agree doesn’t make everyone wrong. Poor bloke difficult couple of weeks for you I bet.
