Rewards balance was ended after the Hull game.

As for the £10 rewards start up I was rather looking forward to adding to my end of season mug collection.

I thought it had finished, but they put in her supporter number and deducted £2 (I think) from the price of the t-shirt.

If not from the rewards balance, maybe there is a discretionary discount until the new scheme is out?

  2. Do you have any credit left on your season card from last season?

My daughter went down there last Saturday to get me the black on black t-shirt for Father’s Day.

She took her season card and asked about the usual discount, but nothing was available at the moment. He did put her supporter number in and found she had a couple of quid on there from purchases, so took that off the price. Not quite 10%, but something.

Depending on where you are coming from, Ashton Drive (not via Winterstoke Road) might be a good option

Thanks for the replies. Was planning on Ashton Drive, coming out on to Winterstoke Road by The Robins and turning right.

It was a weird one as for much of his loan period before we signed him permanently he was on the subs bench, so always makes me wonder what LJ saw in him that suggested we should keep him. Unless we had agreed to sign him as part of that loan deal

I had the feeling LJ thought he could turn him into the next big money player. Seem to remember it being said, LJ wanted a full pre-season with him to get up to speed, as he wasn't fit enough when he came in on loan.

There were also social media posts from KP aimed at the club/LJ about how he was working hard on his fitness throughout the summer, before signing for us.

Din't Dickie Rooks start the ball rolling with a thumping header ?

That sounds right, I always thought John Galley got a hattrick and Dickie Rooks got the other 2.

Someone on Twitter said this was also their first match and they remember it as 1-3 at half time and he also remembers Dickie getting a couple.

I was 9 and still remember that game. One of my top 5 City games.

It all seemed to fall into place for me, we were right in the Eastend, the match was fantastic and I just loved the noise and the atmosphere. Hooked and the football became a big part of my life, wherever I was in the world. Even in the Falklands, I had a local reporter sending me match reports regularly.

  7. My old man kept taking me down Eastville, but I never felt the love. His sister, Deb was a mad city fan and took me along to Ashton Gate. 23 October 1971, vs Leyton Orient. I always remember us being 0-3 down at half time, but John Galley came on for the second half and we won 5-3.

As an 8 year old it was manic, amazing and I was hooked. Didn’t miss many matches for about 8 years. Joined  The Army and for the next 24 years got to as many games as I could. Season ticket holder again as soon as I came back to Bristol.

Agree the randomness of it. We went to the ground, unusually, as a family to treat ourselves to the Curry Goat on the Easter Monday* game: spoiler, it was closed. Ffs. So we had Pulled Pork (yawn, thought that was no longer a thing) baps from the Jolly Hog concession and they were bloody lovely. Arguably something to have only now and again but genuinely really nice. Very much recommended.

*as approved by Jesus, or any other part of the conveniently made up apparatus of control of the brain dead

We also looked forward to our curry and red stripe on Easter Monday. Disappointed they were closed. Spoke to them yesterday and it was because the van broke down, fully loaded with food, but couldn’t get there.

Nans curry and a double sized red stripe yesterday made up for it.

I’ve heard reports that some of the asylum seekers coming over on the boats from France, who have no paperwork at all, say they are under 18 as they will get better treatment as a minor, and the Uk can’t prove it either way, apparently some of the guys look over 30!

When I was working with young offenders, we had a couple of Vietnamese shipped in claiming to be 16. They had to have dental and bone scans which apparently help age people. The report back suggested both were at least in their mid thirties!

If you buy a poppy, more if you look out for the City Poppy pin/badge . Consider buying direct from the British Legion.
It may be a little more expensive, but at least you know all the money goes to the cause you are trying to support. Some, though not all , will take a chunk of what you pay for themselves , but going direct cuts that out.

Not sure it was ever Fowlers. It was Averys for many years. I used to play rugby with Gerald the son. Fowlers could of bought it guess but i cant remember that.

Cheers, could of sworn it was Fowlers when I bought the bike in the late 70's. Wonder if they were bought out or merged?  As I remember I had to go down Temple Meads to make the make the final payments.

Remind me, where was the original Fowlers ? I can't get past Temple Meads ! I know I'll go "'course it was" when someone reminds me !

I remember  Fowlers Bikes up in Kingswood, in Moravian Road. Bought my AP50 from there! Pretty sure they then moved to Temple Meads.

Was at Crawley watching City, remember we equalised and people were not that bothered. Everyone  was more interested 2nd half with the Rovers game than our own game.

Celebrstions at full time were unbelievable.

The Crawley players were doing a lap around the pitch and some stopped watching what was going on in the away end! The drive home hilarious, listening to the comments on the radio.

Plenty of us left in Hanham :)

Then you must be in disguise! The last time I saw or heard anything from them, was a couple of pissed up middle aged blokes in The Swan down Conham.

I like most of your posts, but your not “bigging” up your support again? Next time I am out for a pint, I will check outside, to see how many have been locked out!?

IF we made the Prem, I can think of 200M reasons why we could just smile at the venting sags, even if we did go straight back down.

I do like the fact that they're blaming a bloke who was on the UWE board when the fewers plan was agreed but wasn't on it when it was turfed out.

The problem is within r*vers saggies, not anywhere else, be it funding, Higgs agreeing a crap deal with UWE which WAQ didn't like etc etc. I gather that horse has truly bolted anyway so why torture yourselves? Nip up to Mount hill and look over the allotments and you can see, in the distance, what a real new stadium looks like. It's great for them that they can see the Gate from miles away in Hanham, if there are any gas eds left in Hanham.

There are not many of them left around here. We have been working hard for a few years getting the kids down the gate. A couple left in deepest, darkest Hanham, but that's it.

I can see Ashton Gate from the house. Cheers me up no end getting up on a morning, pulling the curtains and seeing the stadium in the distance. Old girl opposite doesn't share my enthusiasm though and has complained to the police a couple of times, so I must remember to get dressed first.
